There's some serious implication about Yotusyu on phase 2. The fact that the primal transformation didn't hold, followed by her realization that she had to suffer more in order to keep it running, means that she wasn't feeling quite right by that time. She might even have been with her mind somewhere else, somewhere distant - like the Doman Enclave and her days as Tsuyu with Gosetsu. She had to force upon herself ghosts from her past to finally keep Tsukuyomi outside. And, even still, her memories of Gosetsu found a way through the struggle inside her mind. Man's made a change on her.
I think this story was supposed to demonstrate how much of an impact just the smallest amount of kindness and compassion can bring, especially on someone who had been denied such nourishment.
@@chrys_stone8716 She knew the Warrior of Light or any of his companions and allies would never kill her despite everything she's done. This was essentially her suicide, she wanted to die and she had to force your hand in order to bring about her death because as you said, she felt she didn't deserve any sort of atonement or kindness for everything she's done.
@Simone Rupert That doesn't even make sense. The moon phase is the same everywhere in the world. People in the southern hemisphere might see the opposite half lit up because they're seeing it upside down, but it would still be a half moon. But the phase of the moon is based on the orientation of the moon in relation to the earth and the sun, so there's no way simply being on a different part of the planet would change that.
Consider. The amount of the moon that is "lit up" is always half with the exception of an eclipse, where the Earth is in the way; however, two people on two different parts of the planet will see a different percentage of the moon that is lit up, because they see the moon at a different angle. At the greatest possible difference with two people equidistant from the moon as far away from each other as they can be, this difference is worth about twelve hours. Y'know, because the Earth is goddamn huge. About 8% of the moon is more or less visible in a particular place in a twenty four hour period around the half moon phase, so there would be a difference of about 4% on average from the two previously mentioned optimal points and an 8% change for both of those people, so from night on one side to night on the other it would be something like a 12% difference in a twelve hour period if, y'know, you bothered to circumnavigate the world for 24 hours to stay in the same "time" in every time zone or some crazy shit like that. The math being relative and heavily fucking rounded, because that's not the point and I am lazy. The moon *phases* are determined at a particular time to avoid this sort of thing. Technically it would be regional, but if you really gave a shit about the moon phases to the point where you would need a regionally accurate map, you'd take your own damn pictures. However! The moon would've been a half moon for three days, and the patch came out the first of those three days, which completely captured it in the twenty four hour period. So it was a half moon everywhere when Tsukuyomi was released.
Just for you to know, endwalker should have came out for a full moon but have been delayed. Surely they know what they did here. Those small fact give more feel to this game
When gotestu showed up to fight off all of her nightmares it was so emotional. Even tho she said she had given into despair in her mind, he reperesents that just for a short moment, he saved her from a complete lifetime of despair. :/
... yeah i didn't really feel the WoL's condemning glare at her folks getting stabbed, honestly. good riddance. would that she'd have just started there!
Honestly I can't blame her for doing horrible things after everything she's been through since her childhood. You can't be a normal person after this kind of treatment.
Phase 2 hits so hard both thematic and nostalgic. Every Time it gets to Phase 2, it reminds us how sad Yotsuyu's life is, but at the same, imo, also represents Cyan's despair as well. WE were basically Celes and co. saving Cyan from his despair and torment, but for Yotsuyu, she ended up being lost through vengeance. We couldn't save her. Throughout the FF series, we lost a few handful of characters, but man, XIV, we just keep losing everyone... as Cyan was saved by his friends, we are the friends who lost Yotsuyu, even for only a moment, she deserved better.
I was on the verge of tears knowing this would be the last we see of Yotsuyu. She was my favorate antagonist and I just wanted so much for her to have a happy/peaceful end. This female vocals in the final stage just made it all the more tragic.
This might be the best primal theme in years. Especially phases 2 and 3. Really really well done theme and trial. EDIT: Now that I've really had time to reflect on this patch's incredible MSQ - seriously wonderful - Phase 2 might be my favorite music. It truly bears the full weight of the emotion - and the tragic nature - of everything that has led to this moment in the story. I mean, even just watching what is happening in that phase, it breaks your heart. The character might have become a monster, but truly a tragic one.
I'll also have to think about the trailer when i listen to the second phase and this makes it somehow even more incredible. I really like the song in the second phase.
Nightingale690 consider8ng how she was sold in a political mairrage by her own brother who was Jealous of her AND was constantly raped and beaten?........ I cant help but feel sorry for her now.......
Did you miss the part where AFTER she was sold as a child into a marriage, she was sold AGAIN to a brothel to pay off his debt's, a brothel the local Domans were quite content to visit and she was very "popular" at (by word of a Resistance member during 4.2 who RAN said brothel). She had some very legitimate grievances with the people of Doma, including Resistance members.
Jaeus A kinda easy to see why she went the way she did. And then she reverts to tsuyu and the MSQ shit happens. Poor girl decided itnwould be better to go out in a blaze of glory tring to destroy everything she hated since she herself thins she doesnt deserve a 2nd chance (despite that shade of gotetsu saying otherwise)

To be fair, in her last moments she did feel true peace. I hope their is a Deus Ex moment and she comes back, but that won't happen, and at least she is free of the pain of her past and the pain she had inflicted on others in her present. Let's face it, in life she would have had nothing as well except the fear of everyone, which would only lead to more suffering as her memories came back. Death was truly the best thing that could happen to her, which is extremely sad.
Get the fuck out of here with your conspiracy shit. Next you'll be recommending Zeitgeist. Go back to school, or at least join the military. Straighten your punkass, 20 year-old self out.
Your words betray yourself. Now I know definitively that one, you're in the 16 - 20 age bracket; two, uneducated, maybe a freshman in college or high school senior; and three, likely to never amount to anything, since you're prone to victim mentality, conspiracy thinking and drawing cause/effect between two subjects simply because they have but a cursory connection. I'm done here.
After getting so emotionally attached to Yotsuyu, I’m very sad at her death. I wanted her to stay Tsuyu or at least regain her memories back and try to repent for what she has done. Although I love this primal all at the same time and how this story went. I was just upset.
Woah I'm Shook sad thing is Im pretty sure the sudden shock of all her memories coming back to her and the pla s enacted by Asahi (Fuck that asshole btw) brkke her to the point she decided death was the only road left for her.. yet.. the song's final phase sounds very much like a final dirdge with that tinge of melacholy... which kinda fits her at that point
There's no real use for her beyond the Stormblood arc anyway so I kind of figured she was going to die. I feel like somehow we haven't quite seen the last of her just yet though and like she'll appear in spirit form to assist Gosetsu in some sort of fight in 4.5 like Ysayle with Estenien. The guy at least deserves that much for the sheer amount of effort he put into trying to redeem her and all the bullshit he put up with from her when she was at her worst like the whole getting shot in the back thing for one.
What an amazing, emotional story arc this was. And to finish it with an amazing primal fight with amazing music... man. Stormblood has just kicked so much ass so far.
I’d like to think, that the female voice is Yotsuyu, crying out her misery, and the male voice is Gosetsu, trying to comfort her. I’d really like to know the lyrics.
I think it's really cool from your part that you didnt say the name of the primal in the title neither showed pics of it in the thumbnail. Cuz there's been some talk about in the FF14 community recently about getting spoiled by thumbnails of videos people didnt even click xP
Jeez, seems like the women of the cast get the best soundtracks! I love it. Song is such a banger, all the way through. The emotion is definitely there.
Fact: The cloth from this primal costs 387k gil at best. This one, Suzaku's feather and Shinryu's scale are the most expensive and most desired in Zodiark, European server. So anything that has vocals in it is Fate or NieR now as I keep hearing? Man you weebs need to experience more stuff from before like the 2010's and get off the internet or something a little more I don't really know lol. Also Soken is good, but like the only time and I mean THE ONLY TIME weebs seem to notice music anymore is when it has a vocal component to it and specifically a female singer and then that's like almost all they seem willing to comment on for something. It's no wonder it's getting pushed harder and harder in stuff like anime and big climactic JRPG boss fights. Take the vocal aspects out and I doubt people would even notice or care to comment on things like the melody and arrangement and how it has multiple phases like ummmm Dancing Mad. Ok let be real when you see a awesome boss like this the first thing that pops up in my head is THIS BOSS MUST HAVE SICK GEAR , Also in a side note this boss is one of the coolest things ever that 2nd phase be all feels with the music and story elements but overall amazing trail
Only recently gotten to this primal, and dang was I confused through most of it. I did like the story for it, regardless of how sketchy the arc building up to it was.
Phase 3 definitely the best :D. It gives that anime vibe whether it's OP/ED or just an epic moment (that's just me, if you don't agree plz no hate lol). You work really fast congrats :D
@KoalatyGG I was about to say, I feel like I should be fighting either a final or at least particularly major end-of-series boss in a Super Robot Wars game right now!

I like to think about the phase three part... The female vocals symbolize Yotsuyu, all the things like pain, depsair, anger, etc, it has a very distressed vibe to it. The male vocals then come in, symbolizing Gosetstu, so loud and prominent because he was the only one to ever truly give a fuck, taking the song into a slightly more upbeat feel, which would be him trying to encourage her. Or maybe that's stupid and possibly an obvious rambling from a random schmuck.
There's some serious implication about Yotusyu on phase 2. The fact that the primal transformation didn't hold, followed by her realization that she had to suffer more in order to keep it running, means that she wasn't feeling quite right by that time.

Nobody seems to have noticed this, but this patch came out on the night of a half moon IRL.
I'm shook.

Honestly I can't blame her for doing horrible things after everything she's been through since her childhood. You can't be a normal person after this kind of treatment.
I saw the look as aimed towards the parents, rather than Yotsuyu.
You kids are so dramatic. Go out and read some books. Everything about 4.0 - 4.3 is so predictable and cliche it's painful.
It’s unreal how much they showcase yotsuyu’s emotion in the second phase and that her personality is like stuck between that and tsuyu
I love how each bit matches . The first song sounds very "garlean empire'y" , 2nd sounds like a cry for redemption, and the 3rd is just badass.
Phase 2 hits so hard both thematic and nostalgic. Every Time it gets to Phase 2, it reminds us how sad Yotsuyu's life is, but at the same, imo, also represents Cyan's despair as well.

Soken does his best music when he gets to do his own thing.
What do you mean? Are you talking about the third phase music?
throwscats I'm talking about all of it
Oh. Do you mean the arrangement? Uematsu wrote the first two themes. It's quite nice though, I agree.
his original stuff is always better than just old FF music remixed like in all the sigmascape raids
throwscats then yes I'm talking about the last phase
I was on the verge of tears knowing this would be the last we see of Yotsuyu. She was my favorate antagonist and I just wanted so much for her to have a happy/peaceful end. This female vocals in the final stage just made it all the more tragic.

Tom Norman agreed it got that old uematsu feel to it even though he doesn't compose the current ffxiv music
There are remixes of revelations and cyans theme in there which are his tracks though
I'll also have to think about the trailer when i listen to the second phase and this makes it somehow even more incredible. I really like the song in the second phase.
I personally like the transition into the third phase of the fight, it fits as being the "ending" of yotsuyu Imo
@Daniel Cook That's because the second phase IS partially an Uematsu song.
I didn't think that I would actually feel bad for Yotsuyu 😢
I hope Square will add her outfit, hairstyle and weapon to mog station soon :(

I really like Phase 2 and its utilization of Cyan's Theme which has officially become 14's theme for Doma in general.
Jaeus A to be fair, even in 6 it was the general doma theme
I really want Phase 2 as an Orchestrion roll. I love Wayward Daughter, but that part in the middle is so good.

i struggled to fight this boss. I feel so bad for Tsuyu, bullied, abused and exploited by her parents, brother and empire. She deserved a kinder fate.
For real. Her whole life was filled with suffering until the very end...So sad.

How old are you? Serious question.
The Merovingian oh shut up already
I'm legitimately curious. Speaking like someone who has never read a book outside middle school.
One of the absolute best themes in the entire game. The opening is incredible.
What an amazing, emotional story arc this was. And to finish it with an amazing primal fight with amazing music... man. Stormblood has just kicked so much ass so far.

I need the Orchestrion roll for the final phase yesterday.
ARandomUser5 theres two songs you can make with the faded copy. Wayward Daughter is the name of the phase 3 song
Simone Rupert the add music is there, its called nightbloom
Sounds like female vocals are in japanese and male vocals in english
SizzleShrimp because it is
I think it's really cool from your part that you didnt say the name of the primal in the title neither showed pics of it in the thumbnail. Cuz there's been some talk about in the FF14 community recently about getting spoiled by thumbnails of videos people didnt even click xP
Phase 3.... holy shit that music. I love it. Best music so far. Keep letting Soken do his thing!
Also thanks for uploading this so fast.
You did it again Square, thank you.
I mean.
She's the best primal now.
Jeez, seems like the women of the cast get the best soundtracks! I love it. Song is such a banger, all the way through. The emotion is definitely there.
that final phase chorus vocals gave me a bit of a Nier vibe here
Itai Sprachman Evangelion Rebuild ost xD
Itai Sprachman I was kinda hoping I wasn’t the only one who thought this.
Itai Sprachman I emidiately scrolled to the comment section to see if anybody else noticed this. Glad I am not the only one.
Its crazy to think how much phase 2 gives me ff6 vibs.
I really liked this fight, it is not only a fight, it tells a story and the second phase is awesome.
such a cruel fate and such sad and wonderful music you can really feel the sadness in this battle.
3:08
*After 30 farming attempts*
"How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?!"
I dont know if u purposely slowed the fight for the music but the transitions were captured perfectly! =)
This theme is perfection.
1 month later, the first phase still feels so powerful just as it did the first day I heard this...
6:11 Best part
I hadn't played FF14 but this has to be the most interesting battle I've seen so far. Cool boss design and music.
Hope you finaly find peace Yotsuyu.. :c
Well Square Enix has proven that any patch with ".3" will be the best in it's respective expansion, trial wise at least.
Skai F thats a weird way to spell ".2"
4.2 fucking sucks though.
Ricky Fajar but 3.2 makes up for it
3.2 while nice, it's ultimately just a build up for Nidhogg conclusion, which was fucking blast.
Though yes it's better than 4.2 for sure.
It doesn't.

OMG! This is hands down even better than the finals steps!
I don’t know how he does it, but Soken manages to outdo himself once again. Absolutely fantastic!
Wait no I don't wanna fight you! What about picking up fruit, sitting down and resting, taking care of the one you harmed?
I'm in love!
CRAZY AWESOME
SOKEN IS A GOD, phase 3 is a pure masterpiece, so amazing I also get huge FATE vibes from this music

I really enjoyed this boss fight
Anyone else want an hour loop of the final phase? I need it.
SureShot me I would love to have one
Someone did a 15 minute version look up Wayward Daughter extended.
Phase 3 definitely gives me Bayonetta vibes for some reason 😅
Tyler Bell Well the witch of doma does die and she gets a Moon form

I want phase 3 so much! So fab!
Phase two just sounds too good to me imo.
Yanxia/Cyan’s theme piano mashup, mmmmm
Played this fight with one hand.... cause I was always grabbing my heart.
Ok let be real when you see a awesome boss like this the first thing that pops up in my head is THIS BOSS MUST HAVE SICK GEAR , Also in a side note this boss is one of the coolest things ever that 2nd phase be all feels with the music and story elements but overall amazing trail
This song will always haunt me, after so many wipes and at E3 2018 just to get the shirt.
God, Soken... this is friggin' fantastic.
I'm getting vibes of the .hack//Sign OP from that final phase music. Amazing.
phase 1 just gets me the chills
Soken showed out on this one. God I love this!
Terrible day for rain.
Holy smokes you work fast, haha.
The male cord progression gives me hym of the faith vibes. SIN!!!! Mwah ha ha ha ha...
Can you possibly make a version of this with only the final phase as a video?
This was great wow
Bless you
Phase 2 to Final Phase transition is amazing!
My god.
it seems that this battle theme enters"Original sound track Storm Blood".Soken was saying.
this is the best primal song in stormblood by far, followed by shinryu's
This trial was fucking awesooooome.
First Phase is called "Nightbloom" and Final Phase is "Wayward Daughter." There's no orchestrion roll for 2nd phase.
best primal fight ever
Man, didn't realize they were giving the bunny suits to primals as well. :P
Fits: EVERYONE
So this fight looks really good and I can't wait to play it.
Except I'm locked out at 324 IL. Dead inside.
gift me a sub card aaa
Do you know where I can find a good loop of the phase 1 theme? And AAAAA great video!! thank you so much!
Is that a lil bit of Cyan's theme in phase 2?
Cyan's theme is the leitmotif of both, Hien (son of the late Kaien) and the fallen nation of Doma.
is the female singer the vocalist from the nier automata soundtrack?
Is anyone else hearing an arrangement of the Ishgard theme in phase 3?
Knowing is fascinating. i.e., suppose her past was never told or hidden else where.
I hear the Garlemald theme! :D
Only recently gotten to this primal, and dang was I confused through most of it.
I did like the story for it, regardless of how sketchy the arc building up to it was.
So this is where all our money goes to. Worth it!!
it isn't. not a cent goes into the game. se higher ups set their budget and its been getting smaller. our subs and stuff goes to their other projects.
Can you cite a source for this claim? Particularly that their budget is shrinking, because I'd like to know if that's true.
This was some elfen lied type arc
Phase 3 definitely the best :D. It gives that anime vibe whether it's OP/ED or just an epic moment (that's just me, if you don't agree plz no hate lol). You work really fast congrats :D
Crimson_Shadow3 hell yeah couldn't agree more phase 3 totally feels like something anime and totally makes you feel hype.
Crimson_Shadow3 I feel it's more like anime final boss levels of a theme. More particularly any sort of mecha anime.
Right!! The music is too good
It definitely got that feel, I agree :). Here's hoping more incredible ost otw
@KoalatyGG I was about to say, I feel like I should be fighting either a final or at least particularly major end-of-series boss in a Super Robot Wars game right now!
Moon
Phase 3 theme was so FUCKING good
REAPING CRESCENT
Can you make a separete video for each phase pls?
Under the Moonlight is a discord server looking to help members of FFXIV in all aspects whether it be finding a group to run content with, forming a static, Roleplaying & Eternal Bonding, Crafting Discussions or even be just a place to chill out! If interested join today! discord.gg/T8NQSDY
Whats the name of the orchestrion for phase 1
What level is squares bass guitarist
Anyone have the lyrics for the phase 3 theme?
Someone is named after one of my favorite MTG cards :P
Bayonetta and Nier feels :0
Is it worth rejoining anyone?
I kinda quit when Eureka launched, debating getting back into it.
it's a catchup patch mostly, if you wanna be prepared for the next major content drop it's not a bad time to rejoin
I really wanted her to have a peaceful life, but alas it wasn't meant to be. :(
I like to think about the phase three part...
Wow!
Kaguya is that you?! Edit : Lunacy is basically Akh Morn reskinned funny enough which is exactly what it looks like.
And the fans were borrowed from Shiva.
