Most decaf solvents are grain based, so it can’t be consumed on Passover. If you have a kosher for Passover decaf, that could be one work around (although I can’t say that’s a chemical free process, but I CAN say the biggest chemical offenders are most likely out).
@@chadpolski5987 kosher for Passover is a stricter, much more taxing and annoying level of kosher, BUT… if there are flavored coffees, a hechsher is required, so that is very good to know.
(Just saw that it’s a UT company. I’m sure Rabbi Benny could sit there for an hour explaining how much trickier Passover is… although Swiss Water method eh? Would be a lot easier, I think, vs other methods)
Methylene chloride is the chemical. And im pretty sure the drums they process in likely contain PFAS or PFOA. Bottom line, as long as processed food exists, youre going to get some form of toxic substance either in the processing or in the end product. Its another incentive for all of us to try to eat as non processed as possible.
Why is this even an issue? FDA regulates how much residual solvent can remain in decaf coffee after the process, which is to say, not even remotely enough to become a health issue. This is a total non-issue.....
@@Meatwaggon not so. It’s just wild that folks would believe a federal agency that has no personal interest in them or their personal well being would have so many (still) trust in them. Like they’ve never been wrong. Or corrupt. _Lol._

I drink decaf coffee cause I feel shaky and sick when I drink caffeine even though I wouldnt drink it often. Plus your not supposed to drink caffeine on birth control.
Swiss water is nice and tastes good but can contain carbon traces. Tiny amounts. On the flip side, Colombian EA tastes just better, coffee is decaffeinated in a gentler way, minimal pressure or heat. Both are good methods and pretty enjoyable
Water is a solvent...
You are correct, but she is talking about Chemical Solvents…
So she’s probably talking about all the other ones 🙄
@planeandsimplexplained .... you do realize water is chemical right?
@@Hames8 I think everyone knew that ya dork. Get off your high horse
Look for decaf made with the swiss water method not harsh chemicals
Ethyl acetate ain't any harsh, FYI
There's more ethyl acetate in a single regular sized banana than in a full bag of EA decaf coffee
@mprz8188 lol no there isn't 😂
Try Decaf processed by Swiss Water method.
Swiss water is cool, but EA preserves flavor a bit better
