I have had my Mi Max 3 - 6GB / 128 GB for 10 days now. You either have tiny hands or I have large hands, because I can easily reach the finger print sensor without shifting my hand from the bottom of the phone. And a tablet mount for the car ? no sir, we now have magnet mounts, they are much cleaner looking and holds my Mi Max 3 perfectly without any ugly arms or brackets that hold onto the side of the phone. I like its size, seeing as I only use it to make calls 2 % of the time, the rest of the time it's used for looking at pictures, web browsing, watching videos, reading magazines etc etc where the size is far better for media consumption.
Exactly what I use mine for. No one needs to hold a cellphone to their heads anyway no matter how small it is. Are you in the USA and if so how does it work?
No, I'm in Nairobi - Kenya, Africa. Works well on all 4G, LTE, 3G, and other GSM networks etc. Fast speeds. I think it will be fine with AT&T, not sure about Verizon in the USA.
I bought mine from TradingShenzen. They are very good and fast - they send by DHL Express, which takes about 3 or 4 days to anywhere in the world. @@markk2745 I don't think you have to change it. I have been using the Mi max 2 for about 2 years now. It's a pretty durable phone. I have dropped it accidentally a few times, an no problems whatsoever. I use a back cover just because I bought. It's not really necessary. I also haven't applied a screen protector of tempered glass. No scratches at all these two years. I am pretty sure max 3 will be the same too. I want to buy it. I like xiaomi. Iam using redmi note 3 still getting mi ui updates. Mi devices justifies the price. A 1000$ phone such a waste of money. Mi max 3 is a good phone. These days we are seeing an average of 6 inch phones. More big screen devices are always welcome.
I find it hilarious that mobile phone 'journalists' continue to not understand the underlying trends in their own industry. PHONES ARE GETTING BIGGER !!! Apple just launched a 6.5" (albeit in the same footprint as the old 5.5" device) but I remember people (especially apple users) telling me that my Galaxy Note 1 was way too big (it had a 5.3" screen). People said my Galaxy Mega was way too big at 6.3"....and now I hear that 7" is a niche phone..... which is like saying SUV's are a niche vehicle..... The reviewer said you might need a tablet holder for the Mi Max 3 in a car ......my Mi max 2 is fine being stuck onto the air vent with magnets.... Read this carefully : EVERYONE WILL BE USING SMARTPHONES LARGER THAN 5.5" in 2 years and in 4 years the MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WILL HAVE A PHONE LARGER THAN 6.5".... Tablets will be dead and the 8" smartphone will be a common thing (maybe a 22:8 aspect ratio)
I can barely use a 5 inch phone with one hand. That thing is for students who want to read PDF's on their phones, and make phone calls at the same time without having to carry a second device (tablet).
@blacknester But when you have, for instance, shopping bags on one hand and need to use the phone you will have to put down the bags on the dirty pavement.
I'm not sure if I have a big hands yet a 6in phone is small for me. If the fingerprint scanner is adjusted a lil bit more, it would definitely make things more comfortable. So this MM3 works for me, expect I could just save a bit more and get the SD845 of the poco. Lol
I received this super Mi max 3 a few days ago, saw the price 232 eur on Aliexpress, the datasheet, the battery 5.500mah, this super screen 6.8 inch, just beautiful, for reading, documents , videos, photos ... etc etc personally, no need to throw 1000 eur to really have fun, to have efficiency! This Mi max 3 is great, bravo Xiaomi
I'm using mi max 2 right now, want to upgrade to mi max 3, only for : multimedia thing, like a watch video, ready a ebook, webrowsing, do a intense pubg playing, :)
Still using my mi max 3 after all the yrs😊 a good phone for daily use, browsing, mail, watching movies .And the battery is still good😮 after all the yrs. Keep the battery between 20/80% charge and no fast charging. Good product❤
This is a nice phone. But the Wi-Fi chip is a little weak though it does the job. the placement of the antenna line which is by the camera on top. is a very bad location for this phone. If you hold it in landscape mode, your hand or finger will cover the main reception for signal. As long as you're always aware not to cover it, you should be fine. Otherwise it will completely weaken the Wi-Fi, disconnect and reconnect to your data signal. This happens especially if you are further away from the modem or hot spot signal. For me, this was a deal breaker. I have the PocoF1 and I'm returning the Mi Max 3. I only got MM3 because I hate notch phones, a lot. But I'm going to stick with the PocoF1 for now. It's a much better phone, imo. Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation.
This phone is really convenient for myself i been using this almost a month its not a disappointed its amazingly the greatest.... Games social text calls camera and the best the battery is a monster...😁😊😊
I've had Samsung phones for a long time but decided to change to Xiaomi. I now have the mi max 3 and it's been the best phone I've ever owned. 4 days from a single charge and about 10 hours of screen time and listening to hours of music using Bluetooth. 😍
The perfect phone for the visually impaired Uber driver? What!? No this phone is great for media consumption. I had many flag ship phones from Samsung and I must say this is the best phone I ever had. Yes, it is not a 1000 USD phone, but I picked it up from the Xiaomi Store in Hong Kong for around 220 USD. Great value for if you play games or consume a lot's of media. The Infrared blaster is great feature. I can control all my TV's and Aircon by using my phone :D
Was a Samsung Fanboy too. After getting the Max 2 and has been using it for 1 year, it makes you realise how dumb you were before, and not like we can't afford the price. It's just that the Mi Max has so much value in it's total package
I really wanted the Mi Max 3, but here in Israel the 64GB version was only $70 cheaper than the 128GB Pocophone... The Pocophone is a no brainer in terms of hardware, yeah less battery (although easily lasts a full day of heavy usage), but the SD845 is twice as fast as the SD636 and only costs 25% more... So obviously I took the Pocophone, and Damn It's an AMAZING phone... Same hardware as a Note 9 at 30% of the price, you can't argue with that. The notch sucks but hey I know people who pay $1000+ for notched phones...so whatever, I'll eventually get used to it...
ali helal It's very kind of you to assume things on people you know nothing about. I'm so intrigued, how does being, or not being a zionist have anything to do with my comment on a tech video... Or having an iPhone Or being a Zionist for that matter (if you actually know what it is and know anything about history) because you guys clearly have no idea what zionist or gay means...
as someone who uses both max 2 and 3, I can say that mi max 3 has: -better screen, colors are great, black is deeper -clearer and louder sound in 3.5 headphones -worse loudspeaker sound -worse led flash -got frontal flash for night selfie -hw acceleration for x265 10bit -everything else is rather on par. As a media player and home entertainment, I'd say max 3 is generally good and better than max 2. It provides big screen, long battery life and your hands don't get tired of holding it (even 1-hand), unlike tablets. I recommend using a silicone bumper, as the phone is big and kinda slippery. case provides a lot more grip, also gives less phantom screen touch from just holding it with hands (on the edges). but as always, Xiaomi is damn annoying with their ads all over the place. you really have to work to turn it all off.
How good is this phone in low light video? Let’s say for concerts. Also, how does it handle zoom in such type of videos. Thanks! Great video. I’m considering getting one of this. I use to have a Galaxy Mega 6.3. I love big screens and “phablets”.
I just bought this fone...just for watching live sports..because most of the time I'm away from home....it's awesome to use...and battery life is crazy awesome.
Mi max 2 was having problem of slow internet speed, I have used mi max 2 and now using redmi note 5 pro. Please confirm that mi max 3 has no problem related to network and internet speed...
Had version one 3gb/32gb. That was a beast until I broke the screen. I got mi max 2 4gb/64gb. I can go through a day no matter what. Battery life is so good that I charge it daily to top it off, still having half a charge. The big screen is something you cannot compensate with anything. Great for spreadsheets. I have big hands and I can reach just fine the fingerprint sensor. I use a i-ottie card holder. Sound is loud and clear. I really have no complaints besides the fact that it's a bit slower compared to version one. I was thinking on getting version 3 but what I do not like is the slightly inferior battery life. I am tempted to wait for version 4.
I saw this on the display in Mi Store when I was in Guangzhou. I would have definitely bought this phone if it had the latest chipset, but I went for the Mi Mix 3 instead. Other than that, the phone is solidly built.
Does this phone have the ‘split screen’ function where you can use two apps at the same time? Can you use the split screen when you put the phone to the side in landscape?
I tried with rotation. And works on landscape as well. If your two maps (or apps) support split screen then it will be fine. There will be a notification if an app is unable to operate in split screens.
This should actually be a comfortable phone for me to use, I'm 6'5, and 5.5 inch displays can feel small over time, don't get me wrong, i wouldn't call anything the size of an iphone 8 plus small, it's just that for larger hands this would really be a perfect fit
I have Mi Max 2. If someone wants to use Max with one hand, can activate one-hand mode in the options. After action U can touch the middle button and move your finger to the left or right button. Max will change the size of display. And it has lots of other future what can help to use this phone with one hand. But I don't know why need these for someone. Big screen is the best part of this phone. :)
Mister big hands here but why give us an aluminum frame ? You could do back cover in carbon fiber and get sub 200 grams. Right now it is almost 1/2 pound phone ! Thanks for tip about Open Camera stabilizer !
I have an old 8inch tablet and an even older asus crappy phone in my bag all days . This seems like a good option for me to carry just one device and have a phone and watch my series :)
Wish the bezels were thinner, need to hold this myself in hand to make the decision of buying it. By the way, would it be a tall ask for reviewers to mention call quality and headphone audio quality? So many reviews skip those, its all camera, camera and camera these days. Audio quality is especially important for a phone this large, geared towards media consumption.
I'm non of those, I used mi max 2, I'll be getting the max 4 . Honestly, every other phone looks to little for me now. I watch UA-cam, soccer, Netflix . It's a multimedia tonic . Since I started using this phone, only use my iPhone when I want to play a particular game. By the way, I'm only 5.10" ..

Read this carefully :
EVERYONE WILL BE USING SMARTPHONES LARGER THAN 5.5" in 2 years and in 4 years the MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WILL HAVE A PHONE LARGER THAN 6.5"....
Tablets will be dead and the 8" smartphone will be a common thing (maybe a 22:8 aspect ratio)
Actually....its getting Longer....lol~!
MrTonifumi and here i am looking for a good 5" phone... I think you are right though, phones will continue getting bigger
I can barely use a 5 inch phone with one hand. That thing is for students who want to read PDF's on their phones, and make phone calls at the same time without having to carry a second device (tablet).
i think t is also good for far-sighted people like me, i do prefer holding my phone atleast 2 ft away.

Lol
NICE VIDEO......😍😍😍👍
And good smartphone with 5500mah battery
One of the best phone reviews watched so far. Did it in a calm and honest way. Thumbs up bro. Love you (no homo)
Best phone ever for media consumption and gaming.
I received this super Mi max 3 a few days ago, saw the price 232 eur on Aliexpress, the datasheet, the battery 5.500mah, this super screen 6.8 inch, just beautiful, for reading, documents , videos, photos ... etc etc
personally, no need to throw 1000 eur to really have fun, to have efficiency!
This Mi max 3 is great, bravo Xiaomi
portrait Border Mismatching? At 4:59 What he means? Did he meant Edge detection?
Theres no notch and a large battery bro bro bro this is a masive win
true, i have one and i love it
PLEASE, CAN YOU TELL ME IF YOURS HAS THE FACE UNLOCK FEATURE OR NOT?
@@zizouchannelis yes. the mi max 3 has the face recognition system, as shown in the video...
With massive size,too
i bought Mix 3 stable rom ( no global rom in china) 4days ago from Xiaomi store in Shanghai. Im totaly satisfied!! Fantastic divice !!
Max 3 or Mix 3 ? The mix 3 is a flagship and one heck of a phone
Omg was that a yaschica film camera?! Great video btw 👍👍👍
This phone is for people who love large screen.
Big battery and cheap aswell!
So is the Honor Note 10. I hope to see a GSMArena review of that phone...
AcceleratorUlz ROFL
@@AcceleratorUlz easy there bud. No need to be a jerkoff
Mr Z would it be better if it was said “this video is for people who watch UA-cam ?”.lol
I'm using mi max 2 right now, want to upgrade to mi max 3, only for : multimedia thing, like a watch video, ready a ebook, webrowsing, do a intense pubg playing, :)
I wonder if mi max 3 can run vainglory at max settings and 60 fps? 🤔
Ahmed Aslam The snapdragon 636 gpu is significantly better than the 625's but it's still kinda bad compared to a 820.
Do u know about vainglory?
mi max 2 is enough for those things. no need to upgrade.
Don't. It's overheating compared to Max2, especially if you buy for gaming.
Can’t wait to get this big beast!
I am using mi max 2 for a year now and it's amazing and I love it for the best price and I now planning for mi max 3.
I have a Mi Max 3. Absolutely delighted with it. I hardly ever use my computer now, since I can do everything I need on the phone.
😎 I liked your review dude...
Still using my mi max 3 after all the yrs😊 a good phone for daily use, browsing, mail, watching movies .And the battery is still good😮 after all the yrs. Keep the battery between 20/80% charge and no fast charging. Good product❤
Dream phone!! I love big phones but I rushed and copped the xiomi redimi 5 plus, feel this might be to big
Xiaomi phones is most affordable good phones among all phone to same category, looks bigger and small bezel.
But they also come with annoying ads
@@sai_chandu7 mine doesn't
You always make a great video. Cant wait for your next video. And send me one of those ur phone pls
This is the last of the max series as Xiaomi discontinued it ...very strange considering it had a niche clientele...
Will it work in USA? On T-Mobile?
This phone is really convenient for myself i been using this almost a month its not a disappointed its amazingly the greatest.... Games social text calls camera and the best the battery is a monster...😁😊😊
This is the first time I see this guy making a review 😁
Does being or not being gay have anything to do with having an iPhone too?
Or do you just make up shit to troll people?
@@yehudamallah3057 so, what you've just said being a zionist equals to being a gay?
@@rioburhan947 Im deeply sorry you've failed basic English and Mathematics at school, not everyone is perfect.
However when the time comes and you'll read my comment properly, you'll understand how nonsense your comment is.
Best regards.
P.S
Im straight BTW but i have to ask
what's wrong with being gay?
Or having an iPhone
Or being a Zionist for that matter (if you actually know what it is and know anything about history) because you guys clearly have no idea what zionist or gay means...
as someone who uses both max 2 and 3, I can say that mi max 3 has:
-better screen, colors are great, black is deeper
-clearer and louder sound in 3.5 headphones
-worse loudspeaker sound
-worse led flash
-got frontal flash for night selfie
-hw acceleration for x265 10bit
-everything else is rather on par.
Ordered one of those. Can't wait to get this beast!
So smart the " ; " in the background for today's video :)
Great review, good phone with good battery life for 2018 😎👍.
How good is this phone in low light video? Let’s say for concerts. Also, how does it handle zoom in such type of videos. Thanks! Great video. I’m considering getting one of this. I use to have a Galaxy Mega 6.3. I love big screens and “phablets”.
Can I used this phone with T-Mobile in the USA
I just bought this fone...just for watching live sports..because most of the time I'm away from home....it's awesome to use...and battery life is crazy awesome.
l have xiaomi redmi 7 for 3 years and Never get Old or not Working, l say Xiaomi phones are the Best.
Nice video, great review, does it have:
1) dark mode / skin
2) tap to wake / sleep
Thank you
But how's the antenna support? My Mi Max 2 was useless in Canada so I gave it to my grandma and got an Essential Phone
Mi max 2 was having problem of slow internet speed, I have used mi max 2 and now using redmi note 5 pro. Please confirm that mi max 3 has no problem related to network and internet speed...
Sounds like its not the phones problem. Definitely your internet speed.
Redmi note 5 and mi max 3 should have same wifi antenna because it has same processor, GPU, camera, software
So mi max 3 should be similar to your redmi note 5
Had this phone since 2019, I really love it
I like big screen phones, I really always wanted to get one of these.
what is the game title on 3:35
Thanks for the informative review. 😉👌🏼
Why do Asian phone companies love to confuse people with names? This year they will also release a completely different phone named "Xiaomi Mi Mix 3".
Gou Karuma I clicked this video thinking it was the mix 3. sigh
lol the price wont confused you
sdq sdq I never watched the whole video cause I already know this won't have OLED
Max means big while mix is well mix or different referring to high screen to body ratio there is nothing to confuse
chitrarth Srivastava I saw the title and thought it said Mix
I would love to see they put the finger scanner on the either sides like meizu does with their recent phones instead of the back.
Great video, can you please review honor 8x n 8x max as well?
It is the screen ratio which makes this a winner. I hate skinny phones.
I saw this on the display in Mi Store when I was in Guangzhou. I would have definitely bought this phone if it had the latest chipset, but I went for the Mi Mix 3 instead. Other than that, the phone is solidly built.
Will this phone get 4gs with Tracfone in California they use ATT or Verion other china phones would not get the 4gs
is this phone still a good backup phone in 2024?
Can anyone tell me if the Mi Max 3 has the option for Wi-Fi calling in the menu. And will it work on T-Mobile in the United States
It's not officially supported in the US, so you'll be able to get most T-Mobile bands but definitely no WiFi calling
Does this phone have the ‘split screen’ function where you can use two apps at the same time?
Can you use the split screen when you put the phone to the side in landscape?
Split screen yes, top to bottom, portrait only.
@@dennisng3465 So we can use two map apps (e.g. Google Maps and Waze) at the same time?
I tried with rotation. And works on landscape as well. If your two maps (or apps) support split screen then it will be fine. There will be a notification if an app is unable to operate in split screens.
This should actually be a comfortable phone for me to use, I'm 6'5, and 5.5 inch displays can feel small over time, don't get me wrong, i wouldn't call anything the size of an iphone 8 plus small, it's just that for larger hands this would really be a perfect fit
Hello! can anyone tell me if there is a front-back(360 protextion) silicone case for my max 3?
still using my mi max 1 over a year and half. should i upgrade to max 3?
Please suggest a good quality smartphone mount for tripod which can fit the Mi Max 3...Please reply....
i use mi max 2 n hv not a single problem in 1y1m, wanna upgrade mi max3
3:32 what game is that?
Big battery big screen good processor
My kind of phones
I love it
good battery, good ips, good camera
Earphone jack, ir blaster and the stereo speakera are a plus for me
I have Mi Max 2.
What phone carrier uses in the USA?
Anyone know if it comes with Gorilla Glass ???
I want the mi max 3!!! But will it work for t mobile service in Texas? 😣😣😣
Probably if you have VoiceOver LTE
i want to buy this phone but i live in the USA scared it wont work...and if it does what carrier do i go to. please help with a answer
How well does this work in the us on att service
Is it possible to turn off the pre-installed apps?
Can this phone works 4g with at&t or Verizon thanks
Waiting for almost two years now, but still they don't release?... Where do you get this..... I want this phone so much.
How does it work in the USA on ATT?
