      @@i3_i9 Same! I miss the slick stylish laptop like these. Also the laptop keyboard absolutely feels better then most laptops even now!
      Oh right I should do a update on this.
      Battery I got was the cheapest one with it at 4400mAh. At max it could only last for an hour or so with High Performance mode.
      CPU I upgraded to was the Intel Core i7-620M. I didn't intend to do much but It could actually run most websites with ease including 1080p playback so it was worth repairing this!
      As Tech Decoder said. It reduces e-waste so its a shame that there so many laptops that are still usable but the general public keeps buying new budget laptops which from my experiences, gotten worse with how many of them being shipped with Celerons that aren't upgradable.

    i have a dell e5570 (i7 6820hq + amd r7 m370) that i bought used around 2 years ago. bought it from selling my first laptop, a lenovo with the n4100 celeron.
    i need help though:
    should i upgrade (mainly new thermal paste and more storage) or sell this laptop and get another used one?
    if i upgrade, can i substitute the arctic mx4 for the deepcool z5? sadly computer parts in my country are extremely inflated so i have to go budget :(

    • @TechDecoder11
      @TechDecoder11  6 місяців тому +1

      I7-6820hq is a great budget CPU, and if you don't do anything very CPU-intensive, it will perform great in daily tasks. I have two laptops, one with an i7-3630qm and another with an i7-2630qm, both of which are great for daily usage. For daily usage, I would suggest you stick with it if you don't need a very high-performance system. For thermal paste, Mx-4 is really great; just make sure you get a genuine one. There are many counterfeit pastes out there. If you can, do upgrade to a sata ssd or an Nvme ssd as it really boosts the system and can bring new life to the system.

    • @3kstra
      @3kstra 6 місяців тому

      @@TechDecoder11 awesome, thanks for the reply.
      I currently have an 256gb PNY NVME in this machine, I am thinking of adding more storage by using the WWAN slot as sata ssd storage, some people have tried it using 2242 size sata ssds and it worked on the 6820HQ models.
      I play some games, heaviest being valorant where the laptop leaks upto 77c on gpu and cpu is similar temperatures. Though, sometimes it shuts down due to overheating when doing cpu intensive tasks such as antivirus scanning. Maybe it's time to save up and upgrade this machine.

    The storage was soldered on and non-expandable
