They might look young, but these are actually well respected professional musician. The drummer, Tamu Murata, is one of the most sought after session drummers in Tokyo. She has played in projects ranging from Pop, Jazz, Prog-Metal and Rock. She also does music for digital media like anime and video games. She's a drum instructor and has also hosted a drum based program. Tamu is a multi-instrumentalist, and plays; classical piano, xylophone, guitar, bass and jazz saxophone. Saki, the guitarist playing the grey sparkly "Killer" model guitar, has been playing guitar for about 15 years, and she directly or indirectly, has been influential in the wave of exceptional young female guitarist and female metal bands gaining popularity in Japan. I think she's been in around (8) bands and at one time (3) simultaneously. What's incredible about her is, non of her playing sounds repetitive. Each different band or project has had their own style, and she has been able to keep her playing fresh and unique. Saki also created this project called World Guitar Girls Collection which was a showcase of some of the best young female guitarist in Japan. The other guitarist, Hazuki, she's playing the blue guitar, is a technical wizard. She's well trained, precise and fluid with her playing. Hazuki also has been in a few major J-metal bands/project, plus she's also a very talented graphic artist. Then the bassist, Haraguchi-san, is an incredibly creative composer. You will probably see a lot of request for "Adabana", which is a song she wrote and has middle eastern influences. All the other song's she's written are unique, out the box, and not what you would expect from a "metal" band. Finally there's Mayu, who has a unique voice that can range from beautifully soft to a harsh growl. It was she who got the band together. Mayu was looking for musicians to play with her in a one off show she was performing, and she started with bassist Haraguchi-san, whom she knew for school. They then contacted Tamu, who was a popular session drummer, and Tamu in turn contacted guitarist Saki, who she knew from professional circles. Saki then was able to recruit the other guitarist, Hazuki. All the ladies already had their own thing going on at the time, but after a few rehearsal, they felt they had a good groove together and decided to make it permanent. Thus Nemophila was born. That's just a short bio on the band. There's a lot of content from them on YT and all of it is great. These ladies are all accomplished professional musicians who will surprise you with each new song you hear. I would recommend mixing in some of their live content because they are incredible live! Either way, its well worth making it through their entire catalogue. Hope you enjoy.
Hello, you sound pretty knowledgeable. I just came across Tamu Murata’s subscription website, or salon. It appears to be sort of a specific Tamu fan club talking about everything, but of course in Japanese and a I’m a novice in the language at best. If you are familiar, I have some questions. Thank you.
@@michelm.6033 I've created a playlist of a bunch of Nemophila content I found on YT that's mostly English captioned interviews, bts content and band member projects outside of Nemophila. There's close to 200 videos and counting and here's the link. ua-cam.com/play/PLg0XTTqh612tAHmZRwyVxKQtMoAAOy7UB.html Feel free to share it with anyone else, and I'm happy to try and answer any specific question you might have. I honestly just recently discovered Nemophila, Japanese music in general, and imo its the most creative scene happening right now. I remember when Marty Friedman, one of my favorite guitarist, quit Megadeth and moved to Japan for "pop" music. Everyone thought he was weird and crazy to do that. 20 years later, through YT I'm finally able to understand what he meant. I've been playing guitar casually since the late '80s and always been a lover of music. I find what's happening in Japan so interesting because not only is it fresh and creative, the composer are also very young. Its not only metal, there are a lot of pop, funk, and jazz players too. And make not mistake, these aren't kids going through some garage band faze. They are educated professional musicians. There's also this couple degrees connection between them, and everyone gets along. Its like everyday I'm discovering someone new and extraordinary. Anyway, sorry about the ramble. Enjoy the playlist and I'll be happy to attempt to answer any direct question you have. I might even be able to direct you to a specific video within the playlist that has your answer. Also, if your interesting in any other genre, like drummers, instrumentalist or something else, feel free to browse my favorites on my channel. I have a few Japanese bands and musicians mingled in there. I was in the process of creating a dedicated playlist for Japanese artist, but it grew too large so I'll need to break it up. Enjoy.
@@BulletProofSoul1029 Thank you for the detailed information, link and all of your hard work. I first found Japanese music in late 2019 through Babymetal, which has now led me over 20 different bands. I went of Japan last January for a long weekend to see Babymetal and have 3 tickets for this fall so far. I followed Nemophila through three cities and all of their online performances. I watched Band-Maid last fall and should see them again in May. I’ve unfortunately not had the opportunity to see Lovebites. I’ve also seen Atarashi Gakko and Wednesday Campanella live. My specific question is if you know how long Tamu has had her salon website, if they take US credit cards (I generally have to use a pay service for things directly from Japan. I’ll post the web address to Tamu’s website in a second post as UA-cam isn’t always friendly with links. I will definitely check out your link and spread the word. Thank You.
@@BulletProofSoul1029 WOW! I subscribe to Tamu’s UA-cam channel, all the musicians Twitter accounts, and searched out many interviews and such. You actually have a lot in that link I’ve never seen before. Thank you again for the knowledge and hours of entertainment.
@@michelm.6033 The only page I know outside her personal YT channel is her blog. I'm not aware of her salon page. Have you tried Reddit? There's a lot of Nemophila information on there, the problem is finding exactly what you want, at least that's what I've experienced. Sorry I wasn't able to help you with that...I did try to see Nemophila at SXSW this year but couldn't travel due to weather. It sucked. I actually knew about Baby Metal before doing a deep dive into J-Metal and Japanese Music. I saw them around 5 years ago at Rock On The Range in Ohio. Its was actually a pretty good show, at lest the bits I can remember🙂
Wait till you hear Hanabie scream at you about how much they like pastries (Hanabie - We Love Sweets) or hear Unlucky Morpheus and their heavy metal violinist, yes, you read that correctly (Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram) or the other all female Japanese Metal bands, Bridear, Doll$Boxx, Mary's Blood, Fate Gear.
Nemophila and Band Maid are great. Please, react to other Japanese female bands too, like Aldious, Brats, Gacharic Spin, Hanabie, Lonesome Blue, Hagane, Scandal, etc.
The female metal scene in Japan is absolute fire...Mary's Blood, Saiseiga, Aldious, Little Lillith, Lisa X, Hanabie, Lovebites and so many more. Be very careful jumping into this rabbit hole, it's deep and ridiculously talented... From Nemophila, take a look into the tracks Oiran, Revive, DIssension, Zen, Enten, Sorai and especially their signature power ballad Life. Great work, keep it up!!
And if you want something a bit quirkier, although outside of metal proper, Gacharic Spin is a brilliant band, their song Mindset is as good as music gets.
Gotta do love bites, Hanabie, yousei teikoku, KAQRIYOTERROR, Denkare, Candye syrup, NECRONOMIDOL, TELECiDE, MUTANT MONSTERS, EGOIST, Mary's blood, DracoVirgo, Fruitpochette, BAND-MAIKO, Apocalypse by salt dog. just to name a small handful from my Spotify history 😅 not all of them exclusively all female metal bands but a good portion with female leads and female soloists
Another all female Japanese metal band I think you’ll like is Lovebites. They rock hard and sing all in English. Latest track is called “Stand And Deliver (Shoot ‘Em Down)”. Give them a go. You won’t be disappointed! 🤘
Ne-mo-Fee-La. Mayu has at least 100 voices. Saki, you're right, is one of Japans top guitarist and Murata Tamu, drums is an unreal drums and is in demand as session drummer. By the way, did you notice that Saki and Hazuki are playing 7 string guitars. There are 200+ Rock/Metal bands in Japan with about half are all female. Next - "Sorai" & Seize the Fate. New Lovebites - "Holy War" & "Swan Song" with Chopin Etude. New Unlucky Morpheus - "Black Pentagram" & "Angreifer" you'll love Jill! Have Fun
Well if you are starting down the all female Japanese metal bands hole you have a long way to travel. Nemophila is a super group composed of great musicians who have been around quite awhile. They look and sound like your more typical metal band but the level of musicianship is world class ( that is the only way to survive the J/Metal scene). Lovebites is another of the best examples and if you want try Scream for Me LIVE to get a taste of the insane talent in the band. Other great bands await but be warned those of us who went down this rabbit hole before you have been in it for years with no end in sight with the talent coming out of the Japanese music scene.
There's quite a lot to get through with this band considering that they are only about 3 years old. The live version of Sorai is a lot of fun and a lot of hair. Do look at a band called DIH from Korea and their song BREAKOUT they are another all girl band and so is Hades try their song Bring it on.
I really like their song "Style" ua-cam.com/video/kDaezMfprq0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NEMOPHILA It's a very groovy Nu-Metal track. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love it.
Nemophilas best song in my opinion Adabana Music Video, Revive Music Video and Seize The Fate Music Video and they also do covers here are some of their best covers Linkin Park Given Up, Babymetal Megitsune, AC DC Whole Lotta Rosie, Iron Maiden Aces High, Iron Maiden The Trooper, Skid Row Youth Gone Wild and Foo Fighters Walk please react to all of these and please let me know what you think
Memophila is a Bad Ass group, they put out very often songs of their own and high quality covers too...I recommend you the song ADABANA...regards from Chile...
Japanese metal/rock scene is fire, especially the women groups. Try Lovebites next ( HolyWar, Thunder Vengeance, Judgement Day, Stand and Deliver- hell all the catalog), More Nemophila (Dissenion, Revive 1st) and then for a WTF moment try Hanabie (Neet Game, We love Sweets and Pardon Me). More Band- Maid will not disappoint either. The Japanese rabbit hole is deep.

Congratulations on finding Nemophila, Great reaction. Like Band-Maid (not musically) but in that you can choose just about any song and you won't be disappointed!
They're so good!!! I need to listen to more :D Can you magic more hours in the day? xD
@@Chlooeeeexo Lol, I'll see what I can whip up 🧞
Nemophila is one of the best metal bands going. They have not made a bad song so, I recommend listening to all of them. I also recommend another band. Saiseiga is a newer band that is not well known yet, but they are amazing. "Jumble" ua-cam.com/video/2RhYV7adc7U/v-deo.html
welcome to the rabbit hole called "Japanese all female Hard Rock Metal bands" , Nemophila , Lovebites , Band Maid , Hanabie , all world class , enjoy the ride
Their covers are really good too. They covered Forever by In This Moment recently and Mayu’s voice sounds incredible. As far as their original songs go, i like Raitei. Its a fast fun high energy lil song witj an equally fun music video. Deep dive Nem-oh-fill-ah, cause they never disappoint
No son solo 5 mujeres (con mayúsculas) son muy buenas músicas y además 2 de ellas , la batería y la cantante , son madres (2 hijos la batería y 1 la cantante , ¿Quién dijo que de que las mujeres no podían que ? .
Thx , buena ración .
Salud y Rock and Roll 😍🤘
Welcome to Nemophila and the very diverse and awesome world of all-female J-Metal/Rock! Check out more from these ladies: "Adabana" "Hypnosis" "Dissention" "Seize the Fate" "Raitei" Can't go wrong.
"Can't go wrong"? True. Does not matter where she starts. She will definitely be blown away by Nemophila's creativity, vibe and joy. 😊

you said it right the first time! spread the word to the other 20 idoits who never learn 🧠🚑
Nemophila has their own UA-cam channel. Go there and just do them all.
Raitai, Enten, Adabana, Hozuki, Style 🎉
Head banging painters are the coolest painters.
Nemophilia is the best out of Japan 🤘🔥🔥♥️♥️
Wait till you hear Hanabie scream at you about how much they like pastries (Hanabie - We Love Sweets) or hear Unlucky Morpheus and their heavy metal violinist, yes, you read that correctly (Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram) or the other all female Japanese Metal bands, Bridear, Doll$Boxx, Mary's Blood, Fate Gear.
Nemophila and Band Maid are great. Please, react to other Japanese female bands too, like Aldious, Brats, Gacharic Spin, Hanabie, Lonesome Blue, Hagane, Scandal, etc.
no Lovebites in this list :o
@@ArvoR I love Lovebites too. I know about 100 female bands from Japan and I can't write them all :)
Q. Music?
A. Japan!
Wait...no LOVEBITES (all-female, J-powermetal band) reaction yet?
LOVEBITES / Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020]
Another all female Japanese metal band I think you’ll like is Lovebites. They rock hard and sing all in English. Latest track is called “Stand And Deliver (Shoot ‘Em Down)”. Give them a go. You won’t be disappointed! 🤘
Check out Adabana or Raitei next.
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Neh-moe-fila is the correct way! This is a really cool band! Their live show packs a great punch!
Yes - up vote for Lovebites!
🤘✊️🤘
🎉🎉🎉🎉 wooooo!!!
Nemophila is one of the best band's in the world 🤘🔥🔥❤️❤️
There's quite a lot to get through with this band considering that they are only about 3 years old. The live version of Sorai is a lot of fun and a lot of hair. Do look at a band called DIH from Korea and their song BREAKOUT they are another all girl band and so is Hades try their song Bring it on.
You got their name dead on - well done! Ne-mo- phil-ah! They have a ton of great tracks, but try “Dissension” (original version - not the US version).
I really like their song "Style" ua-cam.com/video/kDaezMfprq0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NEMOPHILA
It's a very groovy Nu-Metal track. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love it.
next stop, Nemophila - Adabana (and turn sbtitles on) :)
Next Bands
LOVEBITES new MV songs Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver(Shoot 'em Down)
HANABIE songs We Love Sweets, NEET GAME, Pardon Me...
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee love bites keep coming up... soon???
Pick any song. You're either gonna headbang, feel nostalgia, or turn into a blobbering mess
