The ingame audio is a bit loud in this video due to the weapons just being insanely loud in comparison with everything else and me just kinda.. not realising how bad It was. This video was recorded when I was beyond tired, fighting the joy of insomnia! So sorry If I sound a bit lifeless, even in comparison to usual! Hope you all enjoy the awesome new changes and this video despite that! :D

I think there is a new weapon for Better Future too.
Tell me if I am wrong, but I think the Better Future D-class laser ray is new.
Its possible the developers intend on keeping Reticule Research as a permanent corporation, since in the old corporation list they made they described Reticule Research as "the weapons mounted on to them are turbocharged and out of this world". The Sonic blaster specifically says its an experimental weapon in the description, while the giga plasma animation has sparks flying off and that one piece not functioning.
They are planning on making a mad scientist faction, I think this is gonna be from them
@@thesiegehowitzer4623 I certainly hope so - though the two factions I'm most interested in seeing are the Scrapper faction and the faction with the creepy crawly tech designs. I want working Leg parts, dang nabbit!
I'm pretty sure the "malfunctioning piece" and flying sparks on the giga-laser are supposed to be intentional in its function, and not a representation of a semi-broken weapon.
Though I could see how they might want it to look as such.

After looking back on the weapon charging up at 3:38, I saw the little piece there jittering, which I didn't notice before. Maybe it is supposed to be a representation of a semi-broken weapon after all, actually.

The plasma one vary much seems to fit Geocorp, it was a MINING(nevermind it didn't say mining) outpost, slow but powerful fit geocorp, and geocorp does seem fond of melee
I thought it said they built this to protect an outpost from asteroids. They didn't say what specifically the outpost was (most likely a mining, or related but still).

Geocorp doesn't officially condone the use of their mining tech for fighting others, but they also don't stop you from doing that. Their 'weapons' are repurposed mining equipment, like saw blades, excavation buckets, and rock-breaking plasma beams, and the targeting of other techs is described as a glitch in the turrets for the turreted plasma beams. This new weapon fits them quite well, being an industrial piece of non-military tech with devastating military applications.
The giga laser is going to stay in the new corp ofc.

I'm SOO happy they finally added info to weight and dps. Explosion area and hp would be the only things remaining that I really want extra info on. It would be nice to have that info on the item itself as well, but just having it in game at all is nice

I think the laser will be gso, because when it is charging up it breaks. Most of the other factions love their sleekness (better future and Hawkeye)
And now we need legs to build mighty Imperial/Chaos Titans
The new plasma weapon is a system built for stations and starships, rather than for techs, that's what the "I suppose you can strap it to a tech" thing comes from, just like Hawkeye's naval guns that we don't use for that purpose. I assume similarly powerful tech is available to all factions for their ships.

What Terratech needs is Tera Plasma, and maybe Peta Plasma too?
They should put in a secret mission to unlock the R&D Scrapper and Fabricator.
Save you from travelling to outposts for 10 hours to buy the R&D Item you've been looking for. Now just get your hands on the block once, and print a bunch of them.
For simplicity, they should have an expensive default recipe depending on the type of block. (basic building blocks would obviously be less expensive than the experimental weapons)

The new corporation is really interesting because what it means is anything that was considered experimental what is technically made by these guys now which means this is a corporation that literally just designs whatever they want and then sells it off to whoever would buy it and that is really interesting.
Little did past lathrix know reticule research WAS getting added to the campaign
I came up with just a little bit of flavor text for the two new weapons and which factions they will be a part of:
Giga Plasma: A wise man once said that no matter how hard the wind blows, the mountain shall not bow to it. At Geo-Corp, we may not care who said it but we can assure you with the new Giga Plasma that those mountains will be bowing in the blink of an eye (results may vary).
Sonic Cannon: Despite popular misconception, Hawkeye Systems is not exclusively in the business as causing as much unbridled destruction as possible. And for that reason, we have developed the Sonic Cannon. Because at Hawkeye Systems we recognize that sometimes a bigger gun isn't always the only option.

Idea: mount the gigs plasma lasers downwards on a plane/high hovercraft.
The Reticule Research Corporation has been around for a very long time. though it has been in Steam trading card form

Maybe a corporation designed for base building? The ramp and platform blocks in Experimental would be a good fit for it.

Lathrix, the two new weapons are intended for RETICULE, not some other corp. RR are the only people crazy enough to build the gigalaser.
The Giga Plasma should fit quite well under a tech using Behemoth wheels.
That plasma weapon just makes me flash back to the movie Independence Day. We need a tech that flies above it's target, charges up, & blasts away!

I was thinking something like, a combining mech using these weapons. You have part a (the base) and part b (the weapons). Part a could be anything from a tank, rover, hover or blimps. Part b would be the optional weapon parts combined by coupler just like the mini drone video. Like that you can mix-and-match from those parts to create a complete tech that could perfrom many things.
Thinking those bulbous balloon wheels in reticule will maybe end up with venture, BF have tended to be the wheels with an off centre axel.
Chargeup on the plasma laser will make it hard to be effective against anything but massive techs with boatloads of power and shields.

If you do use the experimental weapons when they get into the game, i think you should have like a two story tech so you could put the sonic blasters or something on top, some weapons on the bottom, then you could fill the inside with batteries,shields, and some other stuff

Don’t get too attached to the stuff, I would keep an eye on the Discord and Forums (mainly forums), there’s a lot of discussion around it and what will happen with it, and the possible changes for small things like there R&D floor.
Also a naval turret will be added in the next unstable if everything goes according to plan, so more big guns! And by big I mean BIG. 8 long, 6 wide, 2 high iirc.

The Gatling Laser is better suited as an anti-aircraft weapon, while the Sonic Blaster is a really good assault weapon, especially when you consider that the Gatling Laser only has a 180° firing arc compared to the Sonic Blaster's full 360°.
The lore could be that the new corporation would make new weapon concepts and sell them to other corporations

Hmm, that vibro-blade would be perfect "Get offa me" weapon -- example: the ankle-biter techs that love to snuggle your (larger) tech's butt, and manage to get under the arc of most of your aft defense weapons.
Very much the 'up close and personal' weapon...sorta like a push dagger.
Makes me think of the Scarab Beam a la Halo.

Make a giant flying tech that uses the giga plasmas to glass all techs below it. Make it fast too really fast so it can avoid enemy fire.
I wish terra tech would add legs, so we could make walkers like an AT-AT.

I fell like for the charge time the big plasma should have the range that the sonic canon, high range high damage extreme startup time is a fair balance for a sniper
Maybe they should add a giant lens to enhance laser damage
I really hope they give Geocorp a bit more. I've recently started getting back into Terra Tech and Geo was the first License I maxed out... at level three... meanwhile GSO and Venture are pushing 5 levels.

I hope they add a water biome and ships like from the depths. They already have battle ship cannons and air craft carriers may be possible with the new reticule research blocks that let you drive techs over them. Also the gso cannons look like battleship cannons. Any thoughts?
