Honestly, it's not just the fact that they were pretty much teenagers when they made this album, but also that they were teenagers when they wrote this beautiful, dark lyrics that amazes me.

After 20 years I finally understand the spiritual truth behind evanescence lyrics. I have always known that these are more than just cool songs with good lyrics. Behind that there is very much more.
I've been a fan of Ev for almost 20 years. Somehow I just never listened to this song yet, I don't know why I kept passing it up. 2022, first time listening to it. This song is dang good! My younger self would have loved this, I missed out!

That's exactly why. That and because Origin was made and released under a different label company. Origin, Evanescence EP, Whisper/Sound Asleep EP were all released under the record company, Big Wig Enterprises. While Mystary EP, Fallen, Anywhere But Home, The Open Door, and Evanescence where all released under the record company Wind Up Records. Big Wig Enterprises, I believe, is no longer in business, plus Wind Up owns Evanescence now, so that may be another reason that they aren't on iTunes.
Origin is like a rough demo album with a few songs that had potential and most of them had their potential recognized by the band later on, so the ones that stayed in origin are definitely rough. With that being said I can't for the love of me understand why this song wasn't a part of Fallen not only it has the Fallen vibes, but it's one of the best songs in Origin both melodically and production speaking it could literally just be re-released as is and I wouldn't question it and that's more than I can say about all the other Origin songs.

The lyrics themselves hold more meaning than every modern song combined. These words came straight from the heart, straight from the soul. The meaning is so... beautiful. Dark. Amy Lee, like me, sees straight to the heart of what's going on, sees past the illusions that humans put up, sees into the darkness rather than the painted image humanity puts up. Incredible does not describe it. Nothing can describe the meaning, the tangible meaning behind it, especially to those who understand.

Could anyone explain to me why did David and Ben Moody quit Evanescence? They've been so good. I miss them so much 😭 I miss them for different reasons.david had soft voice and Ben Moody had raw hardrock vocals which was perfect match in EV. Especially in Being me to life.
@@littlemonsterdelrey i think david just wanted to do his own thing (i think he has/had a band called Trading Yesterday and they are good). As far as Ben is concerned, he has an open letter explaining his reasons; he said that he and Amy were getting into a lot of fights and he thought either he'd leave or Amy would leave. So he left for the band's sake.

They did release it. But not a lot of copies. They only released 2500 copies of it so it's very very hard to find an original legit copy of it.
Always thought some of the Origin songs could use a Synthesis style reboot. I'd love to hear these re-recorded with her newer and darker tone in her voice.

I miss this sort of electronic/industrial feel they had back then. She’s tried to reclaim it a bit in recent work but it’s not the same dark gritty feel as here.

There's nothing gritty at all in this demo CD 😂 It's all warm wave sounding. All albums after Fallen have actual gritty sounding songs, the latest TBT has some of the most heavy and industrial songs of their career.

If you pulled it from limewire or a similar service, it is likely to be mislabeled. A lot of stuff I downloaded years ago is labeled wrong.

Que bueno es Origin!!!!!!!! le da mil patadas a Fallen. Debieron si hubieran sido mas listos haber sacado despues de fallen Este disco , Fallen salio en marzo del 2003. Pues con Anywhere but home pudieron haber hecho otro estudio perfectamente. Con todas las canciones de Origin mas Missing, asi The open door seria perfectamente su tercer album oficial de estudio.
