New subscriber and dedicated follower. Thanks for encompassing the entire dynasty landscape as an owner and laying out all the angles required to run a team year round. Keep mixing it up and tossing in all the theory as well as the trades and player values/profiles
I would rephrase it as it’s okay to buy high if a player hasn’t hit their ceiling. Puka’s price was absurdly low relative to his production and age until this offseason when he’s snuck into the 2nd and even 1st rounds of startup drafts. Obviously I’m fine with taking him high if I think the production will match, but I’m not planning on a value profit like I would be drafting Bryce Young in the 6th round with the hope that he pans out and goes 2nd-3rd next year
Player lock is the worst condition in dynasty. Understanding your league mates and learning their strategies, bias’, fandoms, values, et cetera can increase your potential for value maximization is highly underrated
Your comment about rebuilding aggressively when you don't think you can win makes me feel better about my decisions haha I'm in a league that I just won (mostly by luck and the will of Lamb and Flacco), but there's 4 super teams and a bunch of poverty teams that INSIST they are contenders against all logic. When you've said to never rebuild, I second guessed myself, but these guys make rebuilding super profitable. After moving Lamb/ETN/Andrews/Deebo and some various other moves, I'm sitting on 7 25 1sts, 3 26 1sts, and 3 27 1sts I will never have to rebuild again. At least not before the collapse of the internet or heat death of the universe.
Yeah, that one-year rebuild can work out if it helps you to stay in contention indefinitely. It's all about generating as much roster value as possible.
Appreciate your insights and strategies. Thankyou. Ok 12 team superflex. Am I increasing team value by trading McLaughlin and a 2025 2nd round pick for Spears? Hope that is enough info for you.
ugh i want that jamo trade back lol - like even then when i saw it as a fine process sell, i still almost never do 1:1 trades like that at the same position still more optimistic on jamo than many, but that was just bad process on my part

That tank dell one is so real. Sold him for a 2nd after getting him at the 3.10 in our rookie draft to the manager who was buying any and all Houston players bc he drafted Stroud 😂. Wasn’t expecting him or stroud to break out in any major way. Safe to say I wish I had that one back.
People often forget about all the real world football things when getting sucked into the landscape of analytics, profiles, data and other similarities. Tank Dell had a phenomenal production profile, great overall profile, great draft capital AND Stroud fell in love with Tank at the senior bowl, then convinced leadership to draft him. Nothing but Tank’s size was a negative on him, but everyone looked at his size and saw nothing else, then said he wouldn’t make it in the NFL. One article I read even laid out all of the previous NFL receiver his size that failed to produce in the NFL. What a lazy take.
Many of these trades are so one sided towards you lol I can’t see competent managers trading a 1st for these packages in the majority of leagues. Herbert for Murray and 2 firsts is not reasonable in most leagues at any point in time lol Your Puka trades make sense given context, but the rest of them are wild to me. I like your concepts but your examples are wild outliers of what is possible in the majority of serious leagues.

@@PurePotentialFF while i get you but if your strong at some aspect ...e.g rebuild you should deffo play to that strength ... i like to play fluid as i can in a start up until the 3rd or 4th it really depends on how the board falls ... what ive noticed in the 2 25 startups ive completed is the general skill and knowledge of players has improved alot ... its far harder to use leverage in general

Thoughts on this trade I made yesterday: (16 tm, SF, start 10, 6pt ptd) give J Daniels, G Wilson, 26 1st. Get J Herbert, Puka.
