6:43 I think the context you listed here regarding JSN all plays a part, especially in comparison players with comparable Y1 profile - There was reason to be on either side of the fence and process was sound, but probably called for a lesser stand on him
Third lesson also applies to Bateman and the Ravens. Bateman went from having no value in the offseason to being a potential FLEX in deeper leagues for next year
I was one that chased wrs because of Puka and went for Brendan rice and javon baker in the late 3rd over bucky Irving even though I had rachaad white (dumb!) With that said, there probably will be a new reaction to RBs because of bucky and Tracy. Maybe in future rookie vids you can talk about when it might be worth it to zig for a wr when everyone else goes for an rb
I also totally missed on Pitts, thought he was going to blow up with Kirk...scared I might think Penix can turn him around haha, I have him in 2 leagues I passed on Bowers because of him, in one of my leagues i was able to trade him away for an early 2nd and Ben Sinnot
Awesome breakdown. How do you feel about Jalen Coker? I don't really see any videos on him besides film. It seems like folks are forgetting about him because of his current situation...
always love watchign these (and making these) - important to analyze what went wrong and why, more so than what went right... plus, you get to hear "tOLd yOy sO aBoUt JSN" from idiots like me...
I think the process for not buying into JSN after year 1 was correct. Although I don’t think he was ever a “sell” after year one. There were too many variables to account for, target competition, a missed last college season, an injury in the beginning of the season. I think if you drafted him at his ADP in 2023 he was a hold because of the factors around him. Too much to miss out on (potential top 10 WR) if you sell, but also too much risk to buy into (potential career WR3). I think you just leaned more towards being out irrespective of context.
I definitely made the JSN mistake. I dealt him after he had the big week with Metcalf gone thinking he would come back down when DK got back. I was into Irving too and didn’t like him when he went to Tampa Bay
My trades from this year Great Send Kincaid + 2 3rds for Bowers Send 2 2nds + 3rd for Achane Send 2nd + 3rd for Chuba + Najee Send Parkinson for 3rd + 4th Send Amari for 2nd + 2 3rds Send Chubb for 2nd Okay Send Legette + 2nd for TLaw literally right before he got KO’d Bad Trading up to draft Brooks to piss off my league mate who wanted him (cost me Penix) Passing up on sending Deshaun + Brooks for Darnold
Paul! Thank you for your service. Made it to 2 championships this year, most likely gunna lose in both due to kicker woes (fairbairn). Your takes have set my team up for success in the future. I did end up selling low on JSN, pairing him with a 1st and two 2nds to land Nico Collins but I’m still happy with the return. The metrics you cited for JSN played a large role in my decision to unload him, but also fueled my desire to land Nico, so no complaints here! Keep up the great work man, this channel is a goldmine.
I traded JSN for a 1st that turned into a package deal for Ceedee Lamb, I have Odunze...think he will have a similar trajectory what do you think about Odunze should I trade him for the 1.3 for Tet if I can or keep Odunze hold?
I traded Tracy to dump points just before the regular season ended to ensure I'd get my hands on the 1.01 for the 2.03 (10 team) and a 26 3rd. I probably sold on him a year early, but I'm hopeful I can grab a higher draft capital RB at the 2.03 that's 3-4 years young than Tracy on a better team next season. But the big prize was wrapping up the 25' 1.01. Thoughts?
I unfortunately traded JSN mid season after getting tired of waiting for the breakout 😭 I did get Waddle in return though 🤷♂️ I am very glad I listened on selling Pittman. Traded him and Sam Howell away for Amari + Tracy + 25 1st before the season. I then traded Amari for a 25 2nd and 25 3rd after he was traded to BUF; traded Tracy away for Vidal + 25 2nd. Howell was also dropped early in the season so I grabbed him off the WW 🤷♂️ Net trade for Pittman: 1st, 2 2nds, 3rd, and Vidal. Not sure what to expect from Vidal, but worth a stash.
Along the same lines as Jameson Williams, what’s your take on Jermaine Burton? I was in the same boat as you regarding JSN and Williams so I didn’t want any shares but I do own Burton
Much worse prospect and draft capital than Williams + bigger character concerns. It's still possible for him to make an impact, and he'll be much cheaper than Jameson was, but I'm not optimistic.
I would send dj moore and the 1.02. Not two first rounders though if you have the 1.02 going away. Jeanty will be the best pick but this class is so deep that even if you don’t get Henry you can still hit big with any of the other running backs coming next year
I traded Bucky Irving for Jsn and I’m not one bit upset about it. I also traded stroud for the 1.01 next year and I was in the playoffs this year. My team is as follows Purdy, stafford CMC, kamara, Najee, guerendo, marshawn Lloyd, Vidal and dobbins Jamaar chase, puka, Jsn now, Quentin Johnston Jameson Williams, and aiyuk. Kelce and friermuth as tight ends. My team is going to be insane next year with jeanty plus I have the 1.08 so I’ll probably go after Kaleb Johnston or judkins if they’re there

Congratulations on 2024. Some great advice. Thank you Paul, all the best for the holiday period
Thanks a lot!
Thanks!
Thanks Cory :)

Your philosophy helped me properly evaluate talent this year in my first Dynasty League. So thank you so much!
@@10dan I love to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Third lesson also applies to Bateman and the Ravens. Bateman went from having no value in the offseason to being a potential FLEX in deeper leagues for next year
7:10 appreciate the honesty
I cut Kyren Williams a couple years back because he wasn't performing well at the time. I've learned to be patient with young running backs..
Thank you Paul, love you Paul
You have some of the best videos and strategy discussion on the platform. Grateful to have found your channel this year
Thanks! 🫡

I'll definitely be going in-depth on the rookie class and highlighting ADP values!
I also totally missed on Pitts, thought he was going to blow up with Kirk...scared I might think Penix can turn him around haha, I have him in 2 leagues I passed on Bowers because of him, in one of my leagues i was able to trade him away for an early 2nd and Ben Sinnot
Pitts is done. Don’t buy in again haha
Awesome breakdown. How do you feel about Jalen Coker? I don't really see any videos on him besides film. It seems like folks are forgetting about him because of his current situation...
I think he’s interesting. Definitely a guy I’d be happy to add for like a 3rd + 4th if possible.

Lol
very good breakdowns

My trades from this year
Great
Send Kincaid + 2 3rds for Bowers
Send 2 2nds + 3rd for Achane
Send 2nd + 3rd for Chuba + Najee
Send Parkinson for 3rd + 4th
Send Amari for 2nd + 2 3rds
Send Chubb for 2nd
Okay
Send Legette + 2nd for TLaw literally right before he got KO’d
Bad
Trading up to draft Brooks to piss off my league mate who wanted him (cost me Penix)
Passing up on sending Deshaun + Brooks for Darnold
Who in the world traded Najee and Chuba for a 2nd and 3rd? That would cost at least double in the leagues I play in. Congrats
Paul.. you’re still the goat🐐
Appreciate ya
Good stuff.

Thanks a lot! Hope you can still take down at least one of those finals.
Thoughts on sending Olave, a 26 1st and 25 3rd for Nabers?
I'd definitely do that
I traded JSN for a 1st that turned into a package deal for Ceedee Lamb, I have Odunze...think he will have a similar trajectory what do you think about Odunze should I trade him for the 1.3 for Tet if I can or keep Odunze hold?

If it truly helped you secure 1.01, then definitely worthwhile. Otherwise, maybe selling a little bit low but not a huge deal.
I unfortunately traded JSN mid season after getting tired of waiting for the breakout 😭
I did get Waddle in return though 🤷♂️

You were wrong on Deshaun Watson too. Still more right than wrong on most players, I just really regret trading Nix for Watson early season🥲
Yeah, that one stings
Yikes
Dont blame him u made the decision too
Thats a terrible trade. A first round QB for Watson?
that’s your own fault lmao
My dynasty league is about to open up trading, are there any players you’d recommend as trade targets?
Check if the teams still competing are willing to trade any of their injured players for cheap
Khalil Shakir is 100% sticking you don’t have to worry about that.
Jalen Coker is a late round wr that has upside and looks promising
You mentioned Malik Washington
Ah yeah, I overlooked him. He was a UDFA but same idea.
Took Marshawn Lloyd and Jaylen Wright (at 2.11 and 3.2 in rookie drafts) over Tyrone Tracy and Bucky Irving in rookie drafts 😢😢
Haha me too. I'm holding Lloyd, but wow am I getting impatient
JSN problem was he had too much competition and Shane Waldren
Achane or Odunze + Bigsby?
12 team start 8 PPR
Achane for sure
Would you send away 1.02 a 26 1st and DJ Moore for the 1.01?
I would send dj moore and the 1.02. Not two first rounders though if you have the 1.02 going away. Jeanty will be the best pick but this class is so deep that even if you don’t get Henry you can still hit big with any of the other running backs coming next year
No
Jalen Mcmillan a third round pick maybe he dont count, but Jalen Coker Undrafted WR looks better than Leggette
Can't predict variables.. In life if you can predict variables.. You would be RICH!!!!
Jameson williams isnt that great. Hes fast, but thats it. And a complete bonehead
I traded Bucky Irving for Jsn and I’m not one bit upset about it. I also traded stroud for the 1.01 next year and I was in the playoffs this year. My team is as follows
Purdy, stafford
CMC, kamara, Najee, guerendo, marshawn Lloyd, Vidal and dobbins
Jamaar chase, puka, Jsn now, Quentin Johnston Jameson Williams, and aiyuk.
Kelce and friermuth as tight ends. My team is going to be insane next year with jeanty plus I have the 1.08 so I’ll probably go after Kaleb Johnston or judkins if they’re there
You’re just justifying your stubborness
If that's what you took away from the video, then this channel probably isn't for you
Can anyone recap the intro for me? I skipped it
