- Diagnosis and management of testicular torsion in the Emergency Department. Though I talk about torsion in kids here, torsion is not limited to the pediatric population. Adults can get torsion, too!
why don't they make boys aware of this at school? Science books teach plant anatomy and reproduction, isn't this much more important than plant parts? Why science books in schools don't include this information?

I had this one time, woke up with it, dear god is hurt. I was able to twist it back through tears and words. Once I got it back, INSTANT relief. I mean it was tender for awhile but the sharp pain was gone.
What was your case? Did you get kicked to the testicle? If so, how long till you got it checked and what did your testicles look like?

I advise you to still seek medical attention this does not solve it it can and will still happen you .You actually need a surgery to prevent this from happening again .I made the mistake of not going to the Doctor and kept it to my self for several years .Yesterday turned out it was a double twist and I had my testicle removed because it was too late.it had been 12 hours . Please if you get time see a specialist or ask for a referral from your doctor 🙏
Man i guess i slept on my stomach weird and woke up with it, it felt like ronaldo punted my nuts for 3 hours, luckily they untwisted on their own in the hospital waiting room. Literally worse then breaking a bone

Just that Positive Prehn's sign indicates there is pain relief with lifting the affected testicle, which points towards epididymis and Negative Prehn's sign indicates no pain relief with lifting the affected testicle, which points towards testicular torsion so it can distinguish between these 2 diseases
Damn I had this happen a month ago, damn let me tell you it hurts. Especially when they tried to manually untwist it AAAAHHHH!!! that hurt like hell. I got in after 15 hours and blood flow was restored I would say I'm a blessed child.

What was his case? Can you share the story? Im worried since its been a year now that i got kicked in the right testicle and it still looks twisted cuz my left is lower and i get mild to moderate pain at times when i run at the park or when i touch my testicle alot. Even if im not exercising i feel w sudden constant mild pain
@@Cheaps928 it might have been a mild one, but it won't die unless you see swelling and feel build up of fluids inside your testicle. You can still get yourself check.
Remember having this a 8 years ago, one of the worst pains i've experienced, woke me up in the middle of the night, vomited a bunch of times, the ice pack on my junk and pain meds didn't help, needed to to have emergency surgery the following morning. Oh man not fun.

Just had it today and man that was the worst pain I've ever felt. Imagine getting kicked in the balls, but instead of the pain going way, it stays there for hours. Went to the ER the same day and luckily my right one got saved in surgery. It's glued so it won't happen again which is great, but man that was not fun

Damn I think that happens to everyone a little bit. Like every now and then if I stop peeing prematurely or try and pee when I don’t have to I get a sudden shocking pain.

Some men have the balls attached to each other, while some have not, if you don’t have them attached I strongly recommend (I EXTREMELY SUGGEST) surgery because today I almost lost a testicle if it weren’t for the doctors choice. Now I have planned a surgery and hopefully it’ll be over soon. (he untwisted it manually which helped me to function normally again, walking, sitting, laying down etc. I was lucky that I went in before 6 hours, after 6 hours te chance that your testicle is not save-able is very high at least 75%, BUT fear not! If you have one testicle you are still able to father children, only it might take you more tries than normal.
It might also be over-compression. You squish it during the night

Okay guys im actually scared and I don’t know whether i have it or not. My symptoms:
• my left testicle is slightly lower (very slightly)
• my left testicle hurts when i touch it with a slight force (the pain is very bearable)
•i can walk properly without ant pain
• I don’t feel the urge to urinate several times
When I had my torsion the pain was unbearable. That being said, if the pain comes out of nowhere then you need to go see a doctor as soon as possible. If your pain is leaving then coming back that could be because it is twisting then untwisting over and over again. If the pain leaves completely then you might be able to wait a bit longer before seeing a doctor. But be careful because if it twists once, it will twist again unless you get the surgery to fix it. Do not be embarrassed to ask for help it is not worth the risk. I wish you luck. If you have any more questions go ahead and ask. (Just letting you know that I am not a doctor but I had a torsion not too long ago so maybe my experience will help you decide if you have one)

It started nearly 33 hours ago after i bust a nut. It wasn’t “unbearable” at all, i describe it as a very slight but noticeable pain, and not constant. It started at night time so i found the best position where it didn’t hurt and slept it over thinking it’ll be okay when i wake up. It was the same. I feel like it’ll be okay in a couple days. One guy replied that if i had to ask, it wasn’t torsion because torsion pain will make you want to smash your head through a glass. That doesn’t even closely describe the pain im having. But thank you for helping out buddy, I appreciate it.
Edit: i sit on my chair comfortably with zero pain while writing this, but its not completely gone yet, maybe slightly reduced though.
@@cockballtorture7531 Yeah I got you. My torsion felt like someone was hitting my balls with a sledgehammer when I tried to go upstairs I collapsed on the ground lmao. I don't know what's wrong with mabye you just overworked your money makers 🤷♂️. It could be the longest case of blue balls ever tbh. If it lasts for more then a few weeks you might want to get that looked at but you're right it doesn't sound like a torsion. Good Luck dude

Exact same thing happened to me. I got misdiagnosed with gastritis, doctors didn't even give me an ultrasound. The pain persisted after 3 days and then I had to go for surgery. They couldn't save the left one ofc. I can't help but feel kinda mad at the doctor's who first saw me
Same just happened to my son in S.A. 33 years old. Just had testicle removed. Emergency Ultra sound imperitive. It shows the blood flow to testicle.

I had a torsion in my left testicle 2 days ago, the pain was so bad, I went into the ER but when I was in there, it untwisted and the pain went away, so I went home. I’m gonna schedule a surgery because they said that once it happens it will likely happen again. But since I left, I’ve noticed a little tender ness in my testicle that was torsioned. Is that normal? There’s no pain when I walk or swelling when I walk, just mild pain when I lay down. I think it might be tender from the pain
What did you end up doing? I'm going through a very similar process where untwisted before I got to the ER to do the ultrasound. That was a couple days ago.
@@AddisonGraham I went home after it untwisted itself. I went back to the ER 2 days or so after because of the pain. Turned out to be an infection. Ended up getting the torsion surgery and have had no issues with it since (got surgery September 2019) . It was about a month healing process. If you have coverage I would recommend getting it just to avoid any future torsions.

Actually i have varicocele in my left testicle, i haven't done any ultrasound but i can feel the swelling veins on my testicles. Is there any chance to have torsion just because of varicocele? Because when i walk or ride a bike, the veins swell more because of pooled blood.

Help, I have this mild discomfort around my right testicles about 3 days ago. It wasn't severe to the point I would fell nauseous or throw up, nor was it severe to make me scream, rather it's just a mild discomfort. It doesn't appear to have any inflammation, and my scrotum is still the same color as before. It would be especially uncomfortable when im sitting. The discomfort would set in, then die down, then set in again. I also developed a mild back pain on my right side about 2 days ago. What could it be? Thanks in advance!

I think it's supposed to be rare, the prevalence is like 200,000 cases in the US every year

Help me. About a week ago, I had pain in the same spot. I went to the E.R and the Hospital, they didn't find anything and said that it was probably growth pain. Tonight I accidentally twisted it. I look at it and it looks slightly twisted. It is about the same pain but I'm Super Super Scared. I just twisted the skin though. Please tell me what you think it is. My Parents don't believe me but it hurts so bad
I have a patient who has been suffering from swollen and tender right testis. I examined him thoroughly and the rt one is really hard and tender, not cystic and did the illumination test which was negative. if the testis is elevated, there is slight relief of pain. did serology and nothing came significant and even then I gave a course of antibiotic ciproflixacin and doxycycline thinking epididimoorchitis. But he is still having pain and swelling..My patient is dumb by the by. Any suggestion?

Seabiscuit no problem, you’ll be fine, there’s under a 1% chance to get one, and if you’re around 12-14, it could be growing pains, or just soreness.
I had something like this except it was a cyst along my sperm duct. It swelled up by 1.5× to 2×, hurt when I peed and just sucked all round. Had it sorted within 8 hours, thankfully with some morphene for some of it. They removed the cyst and somehow made that testicle torsion proof
Probably when they removed the cyst they noticed you had bell clappers and opted to bolt you spermatic cords down while they were in there so you wouldn't get torsion in the future.
According to Prehn's sign, the physical lifting of the testicles relieves the pain of epididymitis but not pain caused by testicular torsion.
Hello recently saw a patient whit torsion whose pain was relived by prehns manuver, i did it i saw it y operated him and corroborated the torsion

Hi, I have very slight dull pain/ache in left side of balls, especially when i touch it. Also the left one is slightly (tiniest bit) higher than the other. Is this an sign of torsion?

What was your case tho? What do you think caused it? You got kicked too like me? I got kicked playinng football soccer and i was in heavy pain for 2-3 hours then the pain calmed a little. Few months after i would get pain every now and then usually every month i feel discomfort and mild pain.

I had severe pain one time when I was 11-12ish. Stomach and testicle pain. This went on for months before eventually is stopped hurting. I’m now 15 and haven’t had any pain in years. I’ve only had one physical since and it’s was after the pain and swelling had gone down. The doc didn’t notice anything abnormal but I also didn’t tell her about it because I was scarred... now I’m 15 and I’ve noticed that my right testicle(unaffected one) is larger than the left(affected one). Is it possible the left testicle just died and the other continued to grow? What should I do?

That sounds like a bad idea, definitely have surgery to remove it or do to the doctors to have them perform an ultrasound too see if it's dead

I am 16 years old. Last March I received a severe blow to the right testicle. In October, exactly where I received the blow, I found on my palpation a swelling as strong as a grain of rice, the swelling is as hard as a nipple or almost like a bone. Now I feel the testicle again and the swelling is still there. The testicle is only slightly larger (this is how it is born) that is, it is normal. My testicle doesn't hurt at all. What is it about? I haven't masturbated in a month. I'm afraid it's cancer. What do you think it is? Is it cancer? What else could it be? I guess the swelling is caused by that blow because it's exactly where I hit it. Is it cancer? What can it be? I'm scared. The swelling is fixed and doesn't move. after palpating for a long time the swelling seems to enlarge. help!

I tried listing to this as the torsion twisted away in my groin...he said time is testicle and the pain shot up my abdomen back down to my balls. I threw the fuckin fone so hard. But I immediately called 911. When the dispatcher asked wat was the emergency, I said "I have testicular torsion, please come save my nuts"

what if the side with pain clearly show that the testicle is sitting tighter and higher up then the non painful side that hangs loose and got no pain. and if the person have an erection the non painful side is just tensed a bit and still no pain but the painful side show the testicle pulls up really tight and is very easy with a touch, to pop it inside the body and it feels as if the whole area was sewn up to tight or whole area of the skin is pulled up to tight and the pain in the bi testicle and unbearable. is this torsion or hernia or the nerve of the sperm cord that is in chronic pain from too tight jeans over many years? how can one tell when the pain and the look at the testicle that is in pain shows the whole skin and testicle is tighter, or closer too the penis, to the area where the testicle can also be pulled in and pulls upward when in erection and give more pain from this? please let us know what you would suspect that we could ask about if going to an emergency clinic for example.... thanks

is greater than gunshot wounds, and greater than childbirth pain.
Pain from testicular torsion becomes greater than kidney stones.
So, if you're "not sure", then you do not have it. When you have it, there's no such thing as "not sure".
@@calvinlangford6927 On a scale from 1 (a small graze)-10 (worst pain in the world) I'd say it was about an 11. It was absolute torture. Im actually grateful for that because the pain was so bad I immediately went to the ER.

I suffered a testicular torsion age 13 my mother took me to the emergency room which I refused to go in the pain was unbearable I paid a dear horrible mistake for not going in to save my other testicle the urologist advise me that one testicle was it enough to father children and that one testicle did not lower sperm count whatsoever my sperm count would be the same is if I had to when I was 18 I went to a urologist and have a second opinion he stayed meme with one testicle can steel father children but it was a lot more difficult than you think the situation destroyed my life now that I am middle-aged never married I think it is so important it parents and people be aware of testicular torsion if left untreated the consequences can be life changing

I have pain in my right testicle and the pain goes up in my right lower abs and then to the right kidney I go to the urology docter and do ultrasound and urine test but the doctor says u have minimal bilateral hydrocele in both testicle what is this I don't know but some small crystal in kidney i m surviving pain from one month but the pain is not going the pain is started when last time i do hand practice in toilet please some one tell is this testicle torsion my left testicle is hang more then right testicle
Can it still back to normal?
Uh so I got this like a month ago and saw a hard bump but thought it was nothing bc I didn’t know and sometimes I would feel a sudden burn but then it would go away and it’s been months and haven’t felt anything and I just found out about testical torsion
I fucking sacked a rail while skating and boy is it swollen but no torsion😂
For me, one is soft and one is hard I’m concerned.

Being a boy is not so easy you must confront with testicle pain while puberty so getting real man but, I hope for we are all anyone not confront with testicular torsion pain
