My biggest problem in bottom closed guard is when someone postures really hard and has good arm and hand defense making the match really stall hard. What do you recommend when its white belts stalling in closed guard? Great videos as always 😊

This is a great question and a common frustration for white and blue belts. Essentially, you’re describing the battle for posture control. The person on top wants to posture up to avoid attacks, while the person on the bottom needs to break that posture to launch their offense.
The key is to use both your hands and your legs. Most beginners rely too much on their hands, frantically pulling on the opponent’s lapel-but that’s a tough battle because it pits your arms against their back and shoulders. Instead, use your legs to climb their back and propel them forward. This combination of hand and leg control breaks their posture, setting you up to attack. Once their posture is broken, as Professor Vincent illustrates in this video, you can wrap them up to lock in your next move.
Based on your question and how common this problem is, we’re going to create a comprehensive technique video breaking this down step by step. Stay tuned and make sure you turn on notifications so you don’t miss it!
