One of the best things that the year of 2023 did for the filmmaking industry was bring Michael Fassbender back into the world. Not saying he was ever truly gone, but there was a slump in time where we really did miss him for just how great of an actor he is. Him being in two movies this year and NOW here with a Variety Actors on Actors you can only be happy for the guy.

Also I adore the she brings up Fincher's notorious scene takes (who doesn't want to work with Fincher!) and Fassbender is the first actor to almost shield that question and instead allows us to know that Fincher is generous to everyone and speaks the same way to everyone on set. Shame is one of my favorite films and it breaks my heart each time. I always cry. There's so much to unpack there. Alexander is just a brilliant director, and these two were fantastic. So much talent combined.

Steve McQueen always brings out the best Fassbender. Hunger, Shame, 12 Years A Slave. Fassy is already talented but Steve just knows how to amplify that talent even more.
