What developers don’t seem to understand is that having extra item slots enables those classes to have many more aspects, affixes, and tempering additions than others can have. This significantly buffs those classes while significantly limiting the classes who don’t have extra item slots. Increasing damage in some classes and decreasing it in others isn’t going to make up for the difference between having extra aspects, affixes, and tempering additions from having additional item slots. There is no reason they can’t give every character class the same number of item slots. It’s like none of the developers have ever read a fantasy book. Sorcerers are insanely powerful and can use multiple weapon types and have them available to them at the same time in most books. They don’t typically use bows or bludgeoning weapons, but many use staffs, wands, daggers, swords, and sources (focus) and have all of them on their person at once. There is no reason sorcs in D4 can’t have an arsenal like barbs do. They don’t necessarily need to have the same arsenal skill setup, but the developers are just utterly ridiculous in their presentation of the sorc class and how much more they think a barbarian would outclass literally every other class of combatant. It’s time for all of the classes to have the same number of item slots.
The developers do understand that Barb's weapons are an issue, they just arent ready yet to 100% rework Barb to have less weapons, yet. And yes you could easily make barb the weakest class with 10 weapons, just make their skills and paragons (things that are also unique to them) incredibly weak.
Good, that they finally trying to equal classes because let's be real... Barb with Gushing Wounds was the most broken PassiveKey in this whole game. I would prefer to see more slots for Necro, Druid, and Sorc for more variety of possible builds but buffs are more than welcome. Are these buffs enough? I have my doubts. They didn't touch PassiveKeys for other classes like Sorc and these Passives just suck. But let's wait...
no you cant. the change is pretty useless. ice blades is capped at either 6 or 7 active blades at a time... and the cooldown was already ridiculously short with talent and enchantment. only thing it is going to be better for is spamming lightning spears..
I think I'll start with the sorc for s5. I'm cautiously optimistic, but yeah s4 they were def disappointing. I wanna do either a CL or Charged bolt build. Should be fun! Also, I LOVE how powerful the new updated uniques are, but mostly because the ranges are so crazy. They'll be competitive with legendaries, but perfect uniques can now be even better in some cases. CANT WAIT!!!!

The devs whole point of the pit was not to be able to be finished but a continual growth into until you have the ability to, barbs didn't feel decent they felt fantastic, the fact my lvl 96 walking arsenal build barb (not even meta) was out dmging my meta stormslide druid. It's quite sad realistically that you have this outlook.
In the excel you mentioned core Stat buffs for sorcs and rogues as 25% and 11% which I believe are bases on 2000 core Stat. But counting in the Base 100% damage, the buff equals to about 17% for sorcs and 7% respectively instead of 25% and 11%. Thank you for the video!

Haha, Fractured Winterglass change is kind of funny. Even more button pressing, not complaining though with that you can get to 30+ conjuration count easily with lightning spear. Very good sorc changes over all. Soo good.
I want a sorc like the lightning arcs from D2. But that’s not in game , maybe with an aspect. Also I’d play Druid if they were like D2 , not obese lmao .
Warmth is a joke. The problem is damage and being 1 shot. Unless it overheals; there's a legendary that does something with overheal but I can't remember if that equals damage.

I'm so pissed that ice shards is still the only skill that doesn't have any special unique item for it. And it does pathetic dmg to bosses. When tf we gonna get some love for it?? I really love playing it.

honestly a bit lackluster what they changes for the infernal hordes. hope it will feel like more when actually playing it but from just hearing it doesnt sound like that much changed about the actual gameplay and desecions you make in the gamemode. it just seems like a big missed oppertunity. imagin a gamemode where you have hades boon choices each round, or something in that direction... it would be sooo much better. back to D3 numbers it is btw.
So you wanted blizzard to create hades in like 3 months? Also wake me up when we have items with 20,000%x multipliers. They nerfed the class dealing the most damage so idk how this makes numbers go crazy. Barbs were doing 100bil with bleds and were nerfed by like 30x. The highest numbers we will probably get are 8bil from bone spirit necro which is a one hit every few seconds build. DPS is probably like 2bil.

The new uniques are all additive and replace gear that also had additive damage and aspects with multipliers. It's not like all uniques are just increases from bare legendaries with tempering, they just are now competition.
I love to play Sorcerers but it’s criminal how underpowered they are compared to Rogue or Barb meta builds. I certainly hope S5 will have usable builds for sorcs

So people are cheering that the barbs that are teamed with them are getting nerfed? 🤔 we arnt hitting higher lvls if the pit unless we have specific gear and God rolled gear and even then if im not mistaken that's a low percent of barb nation. This reminds me of d3 when we got hit hard with nerfs.. don't see why it couldn't be bring the other classes up to barb and people be happy. But it seems people and npcs are only going to be happy with buffing the other classes and bringing the tanky melee class down. Make it make sense.. don't get me wrong the range dps classes deserved buffs but barbarian doesn't deserve history repeating itself..

I find it for a lack of words strange that people are calling for nerfs and cheering for the nerfs that are being thrown at barbarian in a mostly pve game. Yes it has pvp but it is such a small part of the game, it is about the size of division 2s pvp. So basically people are happy and even calling for more nerfs to a class that is fighting at the side in pve.. and before it's said about the one shot builds is brought up I have seen a build for almost every class one shooting uber lilith. So I'm confused why are people happy about nerfs to a class that already was depending on gear for a large part instead of wanting just the other classes being buffed up to barb level?
I think that there's this misconception that D4 is a 'PvE' game and therefore balancing doesn't matter. If one class/build is significantly and consistently better than others than the lower tier specs then it is going to feel bad. And yes every class has had a 'one-shot' Uber Lilith, the major difference is that Barbs consistently have the sameish builds one shotting where other classes, like Sorc, have those builds nuked such as Control Aspect getting annihilated or Ball Lightning getting shanked or Hydra not even making it to launch. This is a good topic though and perhaps I should do a video about why balancing matters in a 'PvE' ARPG.

Can’t believe you’re for LAZY barb nerfs. Flay and bash don’t count, they are boring as hell and clearly over perform. Gushing wounds finally works with rend without being ridiculous and just flat out nerfing bleed is lazy and bad for the game.
When class does over billion dmg, and no other class comes to half its dmg output, it clearly becomes the outlier and calls for fine tune. I don't expect single digit IQ huff puff button smashers like you to understand that though !!!!!!

Barbs can do 10x more with shitty gear than any other class. You can literally face roll the keyboard while playing barb. My 40 hr sorc can do the same as my 20 hour barb, and it's a joke.
imagine being happy a class is getting gutted, Don ive followed you for 5 years but this is too far, supporting nerfs is never an acceptable practice in a PvE game. Frankly is cringe behavior and thats why diablo 4 bombed.
I started as a Barb Main, I have 2 100 Barbs this season and 6 total. I am a Barb enjoyer and fan. All that said Barb is an unhealthy outlier for the game. They have too many weapons and too much power is coming from Main Stat, its one of the few damage multis that Barb and Rogue have direct access to over all the other classes. Their Key Passives also drastically outpace every other classes. This patch is really just about trying to bring other classes up to decent while bringing Barb down from insanity. When they nerfed the way overtuned Ball Lightning I got over it, even though its my favorite build and Ive played it every season from 0-4. Don't wreck yourself by wrapping your self image around some game's class balance.

The game just keeps getting better, Season 4 was a huge step up and was definitely worth playing. Judging by what I got to play at Blizzard HQ the expansion is going to be extremely popular too.

Season 4 1000 stat = 100% damage | Season 5 1000 stat = 125% damage
@@DonTheCrown A skill hits for base 100 damage, with 1000 int it hits for 200 in season 4, it will hit 225 in season 5. That is 12% increase, not 25%.

Just saw a someone clear 160 tier, season 4, with a Sorc. I think theyll be okay.
yeah they are 100% removing infinite flame shield and shatter self building which is what youre seeing there

Can’t believe you’re for LAZY barb nerfs. Flay and bash don’t count, they are boring as hell and clearly over perform. Gushing wounds finally works with rend without being ridiculous and just flat out nerfing bleed is lazy and bad for the game.
Not really the Barb has been way overtooned for way too long

When class does over billion dmg, and no other class comes to half its dmg output, it clearly becomes the outlier and calls for fine tune. I don't expect single digit IQ huff puff button smashers like you to understand that though !!!!!!

@@DonTheCrown would be better if some (if not all) builds are just capable of dealing billions of damage shown in numbers on the screen across the board and just let players choose whatever fits their play style or taste instead of having a "Meta of the season" shtick that makes the game look like it shouldn't have gone to PROD-LIVE for about 10 more years

Barbs can do 10x more with shitty gear than any other class. You can literally face roll the keyboard while playing barb. My 40 hr sorc can do the same as my 20 hour barb, and it's a joke.
imagine being happy a class is getting gutted, Don ive followed you for 5 years but this is too far, supporting nerfs is never an acceptable practice in a PvE game.

I started as a Barb Main, I have 2 100 Barbs this season and 6 total. I am a Barb enjoyer and fan.
All that said Barb is an unhealthy outlier for the game. They have too many weapons and too much power is coming from Main Stat, its one of the few damage multis that Barb and Rogue have direct access to over all the other classes. Their Key Passives also drastically outpace every other classes. This patch is really just about trying to bring other classes up to decent while bringing Barb down from insanity.
When they nerfed the way overtuned Ball Lightning I got over it, even though its my favorite build and Ive played it every season from 0-4. Don't wreck yourself by wrapping your self image around some game's class balance.

The game just keeps getting better, Season 4 was a huge step up and was definitely worth playing. Judging by what I got to play at Blizzard HQ the expansion is going to be extremely popular too.
