farewell, Blaine. may good luck and peace treat you well. thank you for being a good worker and showing what dedication means...... it's not common these days. may god bless you Blaine with a healthy peaceful retirement and let you enjoy life
As a pressure washer that has to clean them 10-20 years later I thank you for thinking ahead like that lol I hate having to run the vac lines 200 feet to a back yard to suck out the wash water because of bad drainage
Your a lot more experienced than me, but all the patios and walkways I do in upstate ny I use 3/4" clean aggregate then instead of screeding sand we use 1a stone chips clean. Do you ever use stone chips vs screeding sand? In regard to Polymeric sand, which we use always in this area, it prevents weeds way better than basic sand. Thats an advantage. I agree its kind of a pain to power wash out and reapply but personally I like it better up here. It does require sharp attention when sweeping it in also as far as not leaving gaps or voids
Stan I went away from plastic edge restraint and do fiber reinforced concrete for the edging cheaper and does a better job and won’t float over time. We use polymeric sand on all patios did a large paver slab patio with a less the 1 percent pitch approx 4500 sq ft 1 area holds water for a bit after a heavy rain but runs off in about 5 min. If regular mason sand was used water would filter through paver joints
You ever consider open grade base? We switch years ago and for the most part don’t ever use crushed limestone and bedding sand anymore. We hands down prefer clear bases now! Also gotta try a roller compactor! Purchased our right after the first time renting
You chop up videos too much. Run them just long enough for monitization. Youll post a video at a show going to three booths, then the next is three more booths. Make them longer and make them flow.
I was able to DIY a 7’x7’ patio from watching your videos. It always feels better to do it yourself! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge!
Not gonna lie, Stan, Sam is a pretty chill dude, like watching the videos he does
Yay. Sam and pavers are back!

Great job !! Great tips for the DIY’ers. Another project completed with skill and attention to detail
love watching Sam..... even tho he does boring jobs.... retaining walls and patios wth...... but he's always grinding and positive.
Thank you! I like building because all you gotta do is get your music going, shut your brain off and get it done lol
Nice one Stan. 👍👍🏴🏴
Some great tips, Thanks Stan, and Happy New Year.
Great job! We always have our sod at least an inch lower than that as it will build up thatch and whatnot so quickly against patio

I did this exact same design twice this year. Came out great.

Nice job!!!! :)
You ever consider using open grade base stan ? Great video as always brother
8:34 Thanks, I was wondering about that.
We will all miss Blaine in the videos
Best wishes to him 🙏
Looks good 👍
Nice job, except a couple of gaps in the sod.
I learned from your older videos to butt the edges together and lay them down.?
Happy new years 🎉
That looks so fantastic. Makes me think not to do a concrete patio and go with this method.
Would it sense to dry mud it as a single sack dry pour? Thinking it would help prevent erision and movement while allowing drainage.
Great video, thanks ,What about installing a paver driveway would you still use the plastic border edge strip or set in concrete

Roller compactors are great so much better then plates with a pad vacuum lifters are the ticket also for larger paver’s or slabs
Tell him Garfield Brown from Scottsboro Alabama said congratulations on his retirement.
Do you use a nonwoven geotextile fabric on top of the tamped subsoil?
Polymeric sand is the best way to go...no weed growth and no ants will get through it. Here. in the Northwest anyway.
Rule number one never use sand use chip and seal what the chips what they use for chipping seal it'll never wash away
Didnt mention slope
I thought Blaine retired
