As a 50 year old guy I grew up on metal and have loved Celtic Frost since I was 15 in 1988. My musical taste has become wide and more eclectic as the years have passed, but this is not just a case of nostalgia, but phenomenal to hear how great the legendary Tom Warrior still sounds and how passionate and tight his Triptykon band mates sound to deliver these classics with such heaviness and precision. Absolute blinder of a set!
Back in the 80s my Mom told me, this "noise" won't last. Just wait a few years. Today I smile and remember my Mom. And I'm happy to watch this superb concert on UA-cam. Thanks Rock Hard.

Reed St. Mark and Ian Paice were my first drumming inspiration when I started practicing on buckets in primary school before I finally could buy an old Trova drum kit. 🤘🥁🎶

i needed this badly. 2023 watching celtic frost play the songs that i listened to in the 80s - and many that i still have listened to through the years. A real connection that binds the 14 year old me to the 51 year old me.

Everything is good about this, the tracks have aged really well, great camera work and fantastic sound. They influenced so many bands from crust punk to black metal, respect to Tom for doing this.
I found Apocalyptic Raids in my favorite local record shop in L.A in 84. I was 14 Heard of them from Aardshock magazine or Kerrang. I forget which. Took it home and kept it hidden from my mom who would wigged out when she saw it. It was so primal and heavy but horribly played. I loved it. Showed it to the homeboys and they loved it. We would always try and find the heaviest fast music in the import sections. That was how we found Destruction, Kreator, Sodom, Venom, Merciful Fate, Tank, Angelwitch, (list goes on) .
I was also 14 in 1984 and we had just moved to the city of Zurich. I remember seeing Tom or Ian on the street every now and them, knowing how influential they were worldwide 😳🧐🤓 Coroner are also from Zurich and this year a new studio album (in 30 years) should appear 😋😋😋 Greetings from Barcelona bro

@@pauliescott Celtic Frost's "To Megatherion" is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Thickest sounding guitars ever, and this was when they were still tuned to E Standard!
Sounds even better than the originals. And Celtic Frost has one of the best album covers of all time with "To Mega Therion". And that album is also killer.

Salute Tom G. Warrior 'Emperor' of Black Metal. Been listening since 1982 with Hell Hammer. Kudos Sir Emperor and Triptykon. Hella tight band here. Was lucky to see CF 3 times back in the 80's 90's. Mercyful Fate 1982 w/ MotorHead / Venom. Early in my youth, I was a Metal child.. and now uh Mental child at 58yrs.
I saw this concert live at Rock Hard and it was note for note perfect. Outstanding! Awesome just Awesome \,,/-.-\,,/ I was air drumming and air guitaring through the whole set.
I was not able to get hold of any Celtic Frost until late '85. I had heard Morbid Tales on the Metal Shop out Pittsburgh in late '85 I think and found the Morbid Tales shortly afterward. The Metal Shop from Pittsburgh was incredible. I was a small town West Virginia kid who got exposed to bands like Venom, Virgin Steele, Manilla Road, Wasp, Manowar, Savatage, Exciter, Devil Childe, Accept, Motorhead, Metallica, White Wolf, amd even local Pittsburgh bands like Assassin, and Axtion. To top it off, I got to hear a WVU radio show that had unerground punk, new wave 80's industrial and goth. I heard Cryptic Slaughter, D.I., Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Einsturzende Neubaten, Skinny Puppy, Black Mass, The Avengers, The Ugly Americans, Gene Loves Jezebel, Birdsongs of the Mesazoic, Mighty Sphincter, and Depeche Mode, All in 1985 into '86. The best music education imaginable.

Morbid Tales was the first album i ever purchased. Thrash and black metal was king at the time.11 years old at the time spending all my paper route money on stuff like this and tshirts.
I'm loving these sets, they sound on great form and massively excited to see it in the UK shortly. As an aside, one of the highlights of this is that Tom's German intro before 'Suicidal Winds' sounds exactly like he's saying 'Been to Oxford, it's a shiter' in a broad Northern English accent 😂
Kickass. I loved and still love Celtic Frost. This brings me back to driving my first car with a good tape deck and playing all these classic songs at vol 10. What? Had both ep's but sold them for a lot of dough. Now hearing this I regret it. Damn. What a band.

I just love that they're not using the Triptykon B standard tuning to play these and tuned higher. It doesn't sound like E standard on the album, maybe Eb or D. But it sounds SO much better and helps the riffs shine the way they're supposed to.

I'm loving these sets, they sound on great form and massively excited to see it in the UK shortly. As an aside, one of the highlights of this is that Tom's German intro before 'Suicidal Winds' sounds exactly like he's saying 'Been to Oxford, it's a shiter' in a broad Northern English accent 😂

They sound so good. Tom Warrior is like fine wine, gets better with age. Vanja Slajh is freaking a badass bass player, and easy on the eyes as well.

I just love that they're not using the Triptykon B standard tuning to play these and tuned higher. It doesn't sound like E standard on the album, maybe Eb or D. But it sounds SO much better and helps the riffs shine the way they're supposed to.
