Go back and watch the full game, at the beginning they did a replay of his 'kicked from allegiance' video and its so funny to watch, he handles it super well though
Fun fact The Ra for Licht NozX was a sub. Yes he was the mid for the runner up team in latam but lichts actual mid had Visa trouble. I can only imagine that mid that never made hits Janus ults across the map without trying
Fr. Pbm and Sheento are the best in their role currently imo. Pbm is the best in his role by far as well. In this clip however, Pbm looked VERY weak. Clips like these are interesting to me cuz I've only been playing and following smite for the last 1.5 years
To be fair to mike this was a rough game for all of them - they had only just formed as a team a few weeks before this, and went undefeated all tournament against some of the best teams in the world. This was their first stumbling block and yeah looked real rough. Also Mike was one of the newer players in the league at this time and still looked one of the most experienced
@@BettySmite I can see that. This is only a highlight vid so it isn't enough to conclude how they played. And i'm new so I didnt know about the rest of their performances and that pbm was new
Both teams were not prepared to their fullest. PBM being fairly new, licht missing their mid-laner... unfortunate, really, but an insane game nonetheless.
I remember watching this game when I was fairly new to smite, but now I'm more experienced it's so impressive seeing how well they played their team comp with the Rama Thanatos
The thing I always remember about this game is that it single handedly changed the meta for the entire LAN. The edit doesn’t show it much but the Thana solo was a big wtf at the time until this game happened and the game all of a sudden went from (if I remember correctly) a tanky/burst meta into a sustain meta with focus on ra and thana solo became a very common site that weekend
The way I remember it (which may be wrong) was that it was a Chinese team that first brought out the Thana solo this tournament? I remember it being a big talking point and basically every team copying them throughout after
@@nathanaelwright9196 it could very well have been a chinese team, I just remember it was a foreign team that brought it out first, it kinda carried, and then it was a top pick/ban the entire weekend lol

Weirdly I'm halfway through working on a cyclone video on that exact time period! And on my channel is a video covering the whole of the first world championship where MLC went crazy on scylla already
@@BettySmite yeah man I saw that SWC video when you released it, that's how I found your channel, someone posted it on the subreddit and I've been subbed since, really cool videos all around, congratulations.
That's a good question, I'm not certain but I know the latam scene didn't really take off much, but the sanguine guys stuck at it and made it to SPL, otherwise not too sure!
I know them, i can tell u. in 2018 Hirez pulled out the latam esports escene, with OCE and asia. So the rest of litch members retired after, Nozx was playing from Latam South so he couldnt play with NA ping etc. All the smite latam escene retired because of it. Nozx currently is playing Valorant pro, and hes one of the best playing Valorant in latam. The guy is a god, sad that Hirez killed the esports escene of this game outside of EU/NA. But at least those players are doing great regalrdless.
To me, Weaken will always be the most overrated pro player that played in the SPL. His only strength was that he could play unconventional gods in the jungle, but none of the conventional ones. It works when Cyclone was on hypercarries in the solo lane, but once this meta faded away in late season 2/season 3, everyone realized how overrated this guy was.
Hard to believe PBM is just so dominant now as compared to then. He was sandbaggin' in some of those fights. Also Sheento and Rongyuu putting work in, wew lad.
Credit to Latam in this game. They changed the entire meta this worlds with the Thanatos solo. The Thanatos solo is why people went from hating Variety to saying Variety was the most valuable player at the time.
