This was a confirmation for me that I have waited YEARS to read - that my bite was misdiagnosed as a spider bite. About 25 years ago I had been walking in a field of weeds looking for unusual dried weeds. Shortly thereafter, I was bothered by a good size red spot on my buttocks that itched and wouldn’t to away. The doctor said it was a spider bite. Several weeks later I was so fatigued and had a hard time going to work. I went to every kind of doctor and they all said the same thing - my testing showed I was in good health, that this was a mental health issue. Just 5 years ago, as I thought I was dying, a friend recommended I talk to this doctor out of state who did diagnose Lyme disease. However, because so many years had gone by, the antibiotics weren’t able to cure this disease. I am now being plagued by arthritis. I hope more medical personnel become aware of this uncomfortable disease. Thanks for this website!

I had a rash that wasn’t a bullseye and I wasn’t sure what it was because I never saw the tick that bit me. I had severe abdominal pain and then broke out in a fever later. It would have been nice if it was listed as a normal symptom and that it doesn’t alway present as a bullseye. Thank you and I am being treated currently and only second day of antibiotics. This sickness seems to come in waves of pain with moments of relief.

Yet, we still suffer. I hope that anyone that gets bitten by any tick, understands it is not as simple as a rash. Chronic Lyme disease and RMSF. Infected by the Asian long horn tick.

Hey there! I feel you- never thought I was bitten by a tick in my life, and 15 years later got mono, followed by severe late stage Lyme, RMSF, Bartonella, Babesia, Erlichia and another that my foggy brain can’t remember haha! I still can’t believe there hasn’t been more done due to the degree people who have these infections suffer when they don’t have a rash (which the majority DON’T get). I know when I was bitten due to location at a particular time followed by severe knee pain that kept me awake all night crying. Doctors said it was growing pains...of course it was arthritis. Videos about rashes make me sad...

My tick bite was in my hair I believe.. so if there was a bullseye rash we didn't see it..so it went undiagnosed for 15 years.. I remember I had a a cyst on my scalp, then got really sick, so I'm almost sure that's what happened.. it sucks because if you don't get tested and treatment in a timely fashion you end up like me.. life long health problems

My 7 year old just got a bite today! I'm in California. I'm so worried, but trying to stay calm & I'm calling the doctor tomorrow morning. she got a little bit of a "rash" or "bump" immediately after I removed it!. The tick looks complete & I hope there isnt anything embedded in there. I did it with my fingers because I literally thought she had some sticky black sticker residue or something & then i saw it was a tick! we had gone hiking in Oakland a few hours before. I hope she's ok😥. Please Help!

For those who have tick bites with only mild irritation/itching but no rash is preventative treatment with antibiotics recommended? Is doxycycline the best choice? For how long does treatment need to last if there are no symptoms?

PLEASE yes always take doxy for LONG enough after any tick bite if you didn’t save the tick. Trust me, it could save you from years of the wildest health roller coaster you could possibly imagine-years after the bite. And not the fun roller coasters! The lyme spirochete will attack every single system of the body if and when it can unfortunately

I’m in your club and am shocked that he didn’t mention the latest research which reveals that only 35% of Lyme patients even get a bullseye...

Strong immunity and healthy vegan diet can help against such diseases.
