Never..ever acknowledge that you can hear hecklers. Just roll through your contacts. Pick the loud signals and go on and on about how strong their signal is.
I haven't had one this bad but I get some form of it almost every time I do a POTA activation. I just ignore them and keep making QSO's. I won't give them the satisfaction of even acknowledging them.
Unacceptable! I moderate a net on 2 meters once a week. Sometimes we get a bit of interference, but our ARC knows how to find them. I have a POTA QRP setup that I drag out about 6 times a year. The repeaters are usually just the young kid/grandkid grabbing the mic...no harm, no foul.
I always answer POTA stations as a hunter Never activate. That way you don't have to put up with the "sad hams who own the frequency". I learned this from the cb days.
Super annoying but I guess the bright side is that we get to practice in "adverse" conditions(?). Maybe just mentally visualize that moron as QRM instead

I'm more and more convinced every day that the average person out there has flipping lost it.
Ain’t that the truth!
Some people have nothing better to do than to ruin other people's enjoyment of ham radio.

My goodness, some people are so immature. But DON'T critique their hobby.

California ham is brutal 😅. People fighting, trolling and jamming! At least in Orange county. Way more entertaining than Montana and Wyoming.
Would love to hear the stories
