Hi Tom, just returned home to Minnesota after my first holiday in the UK. Was in the area so we stopped in. The farm and shop looked really good. Was able to score some merch and the black cherry milk shake was the right choice. Keep up the great work. Big fan of what you do.

The Ginger Warrior is remarkable, not long after an operation and he is happily working creating drainage to improve a field. Take it easy Ging' we need your pithy comments, in fact should have got him to explain what he was doing.
Proper tractor on the plough and nice to see a plough with a full set of discs and an operator making a tidy job 👍🏼

@@i.f.colville2497 well aware of the CNH crossover and common platforms but given the choice I’d still take the blue version as I prefer how NH lay out their cabs, 🚜👍🏼
@ritch195 I’d agree that in really heavy trash discs can be a problem and cause the plough to clog up however in normal conditions running full discs in my experience produces a more consistent, tidy finish and reduces fuel consumption as the plough is only having to turn furrows that have been sliced from the unploughed ground by the discs rather than tearing them up and turning over without discs 🤷🏽♂️

For the spool levers you need to check the manual for the tractor and change the knobs on the back of the tractor.

Evening Tom, re your Spool Valves on New Holland Tractors there's a Selector knob on the Spool Block back of the tractor were you can select different settings, constant flow, or kick out under pressure.
if reusing the posts is the plan we usually take the time to pull the staples on the wire before taking down the fence. makes for a neater job with just a little extra effort. Crush the wire up tight with the trackhoe for scrap.... been awhile since we took a moldboard plow to any dirt......as much standing water as you have I'm surprised you don't have more drain tile

Hi tom we are also a little stress we are to doing spring work and have almost been seeding our 4 fields but we have all day being picking stones before and 1 weeks time we will be cutting first field of 2024 grass and it is exciting. Have a great day and keep working on. From farmer in Sweden

A bit of Geotextile over the gravel in the drains will make them last years longer. Great Video Tom, do love a freshly ploughed field.

Wonderful video! The drone footage is absolutely incredible, there is nothing in this world more beautiful than farms, their livestock and their fields! I can hardly wait for crops to be growing out here and driving in the country and just smelling the air sweet with the smell of crops growing! Hello Joanna, Harvey and Mr Pemberton! What a man of dedication your dad is! He’s just incredible, nothing ever stops him for long does it. Hope he’s able to get some golfing in this summer. Lol. Pretty cool plough that turns over to do the opposite direction in the fields. He did an amazing job. Love seeing your Dad out working again. Luke did a fab job too. Tom you looked handsome in your outfit post friends christening.

I live in Scotland 🏴 and just now they have finished the first cut and a few fields over from me splash plate slurry being done so nice to learn what everyone is up to keep safe and breathe ❤😊
The problem with your spool not stopping in with spreading muck could be the tractor supplying too much oil to the floor on the spreader, so not stopping in. Best way is to slow the oil down on the tractor, because it is noticeable that when it's pumping too much oil, it will take more power. The other thing is that there is a nob on each of the spool slices which you turn and it has different functions

So cant wait to see the farm in person, started watching couple years ago when got into playing Farming Simulator... now years on I've moved to Blackpool, and new job at Carron Lodge, you are only up the road ive drove past many times on way to partners dads but just getting the time with having 8 year old and 8 month old.

Hope you get a good backend of the year to get it off because here in Scotland our ground turns wet quick and folk here tryed growing maze amd gave up couldn't get it out the feild and cant help but remember yous struggling to get silage off in the backend of tje year

Fantastic you see you and the team finally out and working the land, it amazes me just how much you guys can get done when the weather allows you. I was right in a previous video when I commented that the Ginger Warrior would be back on drainage as soon as he could be. 😉. Weird isn't it that when you get the Maze drilled you will be wanting a bit of rain. 🤔. 👍.

Hi Tom. Adjust the flow rate on the hydraulic flow that controls the hydraulic bed and then the lever will stop clicking off. If that fails check that the spreader hydraulic lines are plugged in to the return to detente on constant pumping.
Tom close that back window! Also adjust your flow rate to keep your hydraulic in pump

There’s knobs back by the spools with Roman numerals on, click it up a notch it’ll keep the spool on

I expect you have already tried but I have had the issue with the spools and there was knobs to turn on the back of the tractor by the block to put the spool in constant flow.
Great video Tom, and it is good the maze is going in. Do you ever see your self growing barley and you would end up with the straw as well.

Things are going along well Tom; I hope it's a great crop of corn.
Your water table is so close to the surface, the ground is like the Netherlands, sea level.
You need to adjust the flow rate valve on the spool block until the lever locks in place under pressure.
Nice bit of ploughing, with the amount of muck on those fields, you'll be able to sing, 'the corn is as high as an Elephants eye.' (My homage to Oklahoma the musical 🤣) 👍

If I suggest to any of the local farmers round my way that they clean up after themselves any excess mess they get all defensive and don't do it. Say flippant things like, it's the countryside. 😥
I used to work on organic farms and was always cleaning up after myself and my colleagues. I had a pto driven brush on the back of a loader tractor. Sometimes somebody would join me with a slurry tanker full of water. 😊👍
I hope you get a chance to see what some farmers are doing with protecting and growing soil without inputs of nitrogen, fertilizers, and herbicides. Using no till methods and putting cattle and sheep on the ground for fertilizing in a way that keeps heavy equipment from compacting the soil. Love most of what you do….love the cows and the work you do. Farmers feed the world!
Tom have you ever thought about running a pasture aerator over the fields before spreading muck. A pass of a pasture area before would help with compaction. Allow the nutrients to get deeper into the soil, or you want the roots growing. Aerating the fields would also help allow for more water retention and help the fields dry out faster.
