My 6se extruder cover cracked a few months ago and I replaced it with a duel gear all metal. This has resulted in severe under extrusion. I've watched dozens of "help" videos that were simply over my head with jargon. This is the best most straightforward how to that I've seen. Thank you so much!
@@eduardosilveira2232 to do the firmware, yes. I found the extruder calibration settings on my own. And used an online estep calculator. I honestly don't remember which one.
Amazing. I had no idea I needed to insert a micro SD card into the screen until watching this video. Now I have successfully updated my CR6 SE to the Marlin Community Firmware and updated the screen.
Great 1st video, successfully flashed my CR6 ( v1.1-ERA motherboard ) with the community firmware (CR6Comm-CF6-Final-cr6-max-stock-mb-2021-03-27-15-52). Thanks!!
I have one. Two things I think are key: Moving the gcode status check to the SDCARD to reduce time (But I'd love to know whether the community actually endurance tested the SD cards before release) and the promise of interactive E-steps calibration : "TLDR: Added PID tuning, interactive e-steps calibration, overriding slicer retractions, custom ABL probing settings, many more configuration knobs and stability improvements." In my experience a couple of decades ago, EEPROMS had at least an order of magnitude endurance rating higher than flash chips. I doubt that Creality or Marlin or the community amended the C libraries they imported from Arduino's box of tricks to implement wear leveling, so I would expect that it your printer is in high usage doing vase prints, you are going to cook your GCODE SD cards in a matter of months. I bought a Ender 3 S1 Pro a couple of weeks ago and I've been blown away by the trouble free direct drive extruder, this will likely be my next upgrade for my CR-6 Max. It's no good a printer being able to move fast if it can't extrude fast and I hate the long bowden tube and the drive for it. But I'll maybe wait a bit longer. Direct drive wiring harness kit and another community release adding the DD and Klipper as well would be ideal.
I have a CR-6 Max as well, with this update does it allow you to change the E-steps on the printer display, I have a Voxelab Aquila as well that's easy to change that setting.
Found the black screen fix from another user... In the zip file where you get the DWIN_SET there is also a CR-6 kernel upgrade file. You have to add the files within the kernel file to the DWIN file. Flash the screen with this and the MB firmware loads perfectly.
Can you delete the file off the SD card once you finish this process? Also, can you use 1 micro SD card with an SD card adapter for both steps? Assuming you delete the touchscreen file between steps? I bought the printer second hand and they kept the SD card. I'm hoping reflashing the firmware fixes the problems I'm having
Hi so sorry for the late reply, did you make sure that you A) have the correct firmware for the board and B) have formatted and partitioned the SD card properly?

Thanks mate, I'm trying to make videos that are no bullcrap, just solution
When you updated The firmware, you got how to calibrate the e-step?
@@eduardosilveira2232 yes. It's in the setting menu I believe. Very straightforward.
@@foolishmortal42 cool! And you did The update using this exactly video, or other?

Interesting. Me and John both watched it just now. Good educational video Ben.

I did what you suggested, the firmware was loaded correctly. now the touch does not work for me
Your help saved the day. Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks it worked
So I used the 8 gig card to update the board first. Now I can't update the monitor? Is there a fix for this?
Hi bro, I have a question, if i have the version era 1.0.4 of the motherboard, what version I need choice? thanks you!!

were you able to solve it?
I wasn't no, gave up in the end and went back to stock.
@@Jollyware11 Did you reinstall the original firmware?
Yeah, I put the original firmware back on
I hope this work of my ender 3 max
I followed and it’s just a black screen now

did you manage to solve it?
