It's so great, that besides showing the actual tests, you take your time to explain why are we doing that. Hope you will keep up the good work and always include explanations in your videos, why is it so and not the other way around. Wish you easy days at work !
Cristi Barbulescu Thank you for such kind words my friend, I totally agree with you. Just doing the tests is not enough, learning why things are done or how things work is what prepares an engineer. I saw your video of the cereal and it showed me that you also have the same mind haha.. We got to keep learning by asking "Why?"
Thank you for your kind comment, the video was made with that in mind because it's usually something asked in the university and in interviews. At least the importance

Thank you dude! And yeah I've heard of that test but spectapack 312 from Unitor does not include it and in my whole year as a cadet on an oil tanker we never analyzed conductivity, maybe the Chloride test was enough?

Great Video, your videos are really helping us. Keep it up, and always post the other videos also and trust me it is possible that one day your videos will be shown in Marine Engineering Institutes also.
Thank you Ravi for the motivation, yours words shine! This is a very long term project and I hope in a few years to have a library of a about a hundred videos or more of interesting information. God knows if it will help people and with that I'm happy. Take care and a big hug my friend
Hello! For sure but I think the video shows how we control PH in various points in the boiler, in the video I show the UNITOR chemicals ALKALINITY CONTROL which we dose directly to the boiler to maintain good base PH levels (but within range) and CONDENSATE CONTROL to dose to the feed tank / cascade tank / hot well which we maintain the PH level there. In the case of the Aalborg mission boilers shown: 10 - 11.5 PH inside the boiler 8 - 9 PH inside the feed tank
Marzel 02 haha I'm still not an engineer, just a passionate newbie my friend, but thank you for those kind words. Success and nothing else on your international adventure hope to share with you sometime!
This water tube boiler is Mission TM from Allborg (alfa laval) it ranges from 8bar to 16 bar normally however usually if we are not discharging 8bar to 12 bar
Check if burner gases or exhaust gases in the economizer are entering the boiler water.. This will create acid in the water and Lower the Ph.. Meantime add more alkalinity control to neutralize
rerally nice video ..Unitor is a brand name of Wilhemsen Group i think . i m just wondering where can i get that book ? secondly which turbibe steam moves ??
Heya dude, well it depends on your boiler type for example for this Mission oil water tube boiler Max. 16bar steam pressure, P. Alk was between 100 - 250ppm. However at higher steam pressures the parameters may be more delicate. Any higher it would be your fault for adding to much chemical.

@@amirullahamirullah464 chlorides increase conductivity in the water which can acelerarate corrosion. A high spike in chlorides can also help indicate if a seawater leak is present in a condenser.
@@amirullahamirullah464 no, the blow down removed sediments and the water with high chlorine, what lowers the choline in the feed water is the fact that we must add new distillate water which should have no minerals.

what is the job of the pressure in a boiler?.. I try to find information and nothing.. can you help me with this?
This water tube boiler is Mission TM from Allborg (alfa laval) it ranges from 8bar to 16 bar normally however usually if we are not discharging 8bar to 12 bar
what is the normal range of p and m alkalinity to be boiler
Depends on the type of boiler, the manual should state normal parameters depending on the pressure range of the boiler
Informative .. really good presentation .. appreciated...waiting for more videos.
For sure amigo, thank you for your comment. The engine room has no end in jobs and therefore only creativity is the limit.

what language are you subtitling on the video
Spanish due to the cadets from my country speaking mostly Spanish. I wanted to help everyone and give special attention to my home country.
sir how to increase the temperature on the cascade tank or hot well?
Sorry if it's a little late but for future viewers, we have steam lines and thermostatic valves for the hot well to maintain 80+ degrees celcius
Hi, why is it important to test the chlorine, nitrite, ph and skalinity?
Heya dude.. Hmm I'd answer this question but I think the video answers that fine? Anything in specific you want to know?

what is the normal ratio of chloride content to be maintained sir?

yana rosadi Hello! I should have mentioned it in the video but the boiler on the vessel I'm at is a water tube boiler!
+Shrimp to Shark you join BSM??
yana rosadi Correct that is what my boiler suit states.. They have provided for me a wonderful training experience
How much is the limit of chloride?
you can check depending on your boiler system..on that one it was 100ppm

@@amirullahamirullah464 no, the blow down removed sediments and the water with high chlorine, what lowers the choline in the feed water is the fact that we must add new distillate water which should have no minerals.
