Bridgett winning was the one redeeming factor, especially after the movie shits on her every single scene. The teacher saying she has no passion for it, as if she didn't start the fucking class by reading through the entire outline and making suggestions. Like ma'am if you think that's the case TELL HER. YOU ARE A TEACHER. THAT IS YOUR JOB.

7:58 I say this all the time! The cooking stereotype for both women and men is so weird because even though cooking is so feminized, most actual professional chefs and even bakers are men. It is a perfect example of both sexism against women (and how it can be double edged in a way that is a lose/lose situation) as well as sexism against men through toxic masculinity.

10:05 - EDDIE, GET IN HERE. WE GOT SOME SERIOUS COOK OFF TRAINING TO DO! Best mid-scene jump in a movie.
FUN FACT: The actress who plays the Culinary teacher saying that line is Nancy Lenehan. She played Amy Adams' mother in the Spielberg movie CATCH ME IF YOU CAN.
Another notable actress in the movie is Rose McIver, who plays the supportive and secrect baseball player best friend Hannah. She was "Tinker Bell" on the TV show ONCE UPON A TIME.
The most underrated DCOM film ever!!! Between that and READ IT AND WEEP (the one about this girl's journal who accidentally gets exposed becoming a bestselling book).

16:44 a member of the other team also had to run off to follow their passion.
This video gave me a stupid idea for a movie or short: a regular kid just trying to live a regular un-zany life in the Disney Channel Movie Universe. So many food fights. Every big event or school dance is marred with the public shaming of bullies, emotional speeches and people running off to follow their dreams. This kid just wants to graduate and go to college but he's failing because he somehow keeps getting mixed up in other people's wacky antics.

I re-watched this movie recently and really enjoyed it. It makes sense that Eddie didn't win. He spent the entire film conflicted between two things and only half focused on each, while Bridget was completely focused on cooking. And while I'm sure Eddie's final dish tasted awesome, they must have also been judged on how they operated in the kitchen. Dude showed up super late, burned pies, and overall was a full on mess.
