I made these falafels in the air fryer. I flatten the balls some so they wil cook through faster. Then sprayed them with avocado oil on both sides, placed on parchment paper in air fryer, baked at 350°F till browned, about 10 minutes, flipped over and baked another 5 minutes. This recipes are a keeper!

This worked so much better. I did add an egg white which then caused the mixture to need more hemp hearts but I may have had too many herbs so it worked out. Could have sprayed but I took the avocado oil from last nights disaster and drizzled over patties before air frying. Browned perfectly!

This recipe was amazing, it is even better than the real falafel. I made it in the Air fryer to see if it works and was a hit. I rob each falafel ball with avocado oil and place it in the air fryer at 370 for 10 min. I use parchment paper 📜 so the little balls do not stick or get stuck in the basket ❤

two bits of advice you should try. first for a more authentic falafel use fresh fenungreek leaves in place of parsley if you can find it or kasuri methi (dried fenungreek leaves). second after grating the cucumber salt it and let it sit to draw out some of the moisture and strain it (wire mesh or tea towel) for tzatziki sauce. Thanks for the videos and recipes!

Here you have also GREAT GYROS !!! Simply brown lamb with fresh garlic, dried oregano, cumin and salt and pepper for the meat. I don't bother making it in balls or baking as a loaf and slicing it, just brown/cook in frying pan in larger chunks than for, say, taco meat. To the 'pita ' I add chopped tomato, thinly sliced or chopped red onions, crumbled feta, sliced greek olives, and of course tzatziki. Note: Yes, drain your cucumber for thicker tzatziki and use fresh garlic for even better taste, IMO, finely chopped and mushed with side of knife into a paste, or do in small food processor if you have one. I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Ooooh totally trying this one! And it will help me get through my bag of hemp hearts. Really miss falafels. You can make keto hot or cold oatmeal with hemp hearts!!!! Also use in keto granola… add to any baked goods for extra nutrition. Would never have thought to use them in falafels! Genius esp since I am a vegetarian! 💓🌟💓🌟

Looks and sounds great! I'm new to low carb so still not comfortable with frying stuff: may try to bake 'em. Wish me luck! 😜

This looks scrumptious! I can hardly wait to make it. Hemp Hearts are so delicious and a great source of protein. I Use hemp quite a bit. I make pilaf, tabouli & arancini with it. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been more recognized in the keto community. I'm hoping it takes off as one of those ingredient of the week. I'd love to see how creative people could be with it.

Oh my falafel! Love this recipe so much. I am “technically keto“ as a type 1 diabetic and you two are an amazing pair. I made these and failed the first two times but thanks to y’all I persisted. If y’all can do it, I can do it! Thank you for what you do 😊 love your honest approach to these recipes.

I have been planning to make these for weeks. Got around to it tonight and I am kicking myself for not making them sooner. My only minor complaint is I think they needed some salt and I will ad 1 teaspoon to the batter next time out. These will be a regular for me and I know my son will love them as well

Cool! I used to use hemp hearts all the time to make “noatmeal”, but since I never eat breakfast anymore I’d gotten away from it, thanks for the great idea to use it again…

Same. My husband makes it now for himself because he still eats breakfast, so it must be really good if he’s going through the work of measuring and mixing it up at 5 am 😅

I made this tonight. It was good. I used fresh garlic, parsley & cilantro. I would add salt next time. My batter was a little too wet. I used the 2T of egg white. Fried them about 2 1/2 minutes. I wish I could post a pic...they're really pretty! 😋

I don't compliment much but I had to comment. I made this last night and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! I got 6 balls out of the mixture, used the plain flavor egg life wraps and it was soooo good. This will now be a weekly staple in my ketovore lifestyle. Thank you!
