Babu cheering on the Harkonnens and being told off by Ruby is hilarious
Let's be real, that arena scene was hype as hell.
Hilarious but nothing compared to hands up for the leader at 56:26
@qnB27 Babu understands a lot more than we give him credit for, but Dune has a bit much going on with loads of names and terms. I’m not surprised he had a bit of trouble keeping up here, but I was watching them the other day and he brought up something that showed he had not only understood what was happening but its relevance to other things that had happened elsewhere in the film.
Ruby saying she wants to hit all the Harkonnen with slippers was way funnier than it needed to be
🤣
Indian moms 🤝 Mexican moms
With that slipper it would curve around corners and emd wars in days... That's the power of the slipper in a mother's hand
So glad to see Ruby came back. She’s absolutely brilliant.
Honestly I wish more movies got dubbed so she could enjoy them.
Meh, Babu with Raeen is always better.
I agree, her perspective is very interesting to me
Lmao the way she claps and cheers whenever a Harkonnen dies
As was written
@@spikejnz Lol
Ruby would probably love the books. Babu is a romantic, Ruby has a strategic mind...she can see the political machinations from the past forming up. Dune has always been a masterpiece of political, empirical & religious world building like no other. You should get her the first three books.....always love to see Ruby. She is always 5 steps ahead.
Shame its not translated in hindi.
the way she says a man good at heart becomes weak
empirical? I thought Dune was evolving more towards absurdity in the grander scheme of things, unless you meant empirical as in empire building lol
@@talesofacrookedmouth she meant imperial, but got blue hair
Empirical is not the contrary of absurd though, but of theoretical
I love how Babu does percussion with his hands.
Music’s in his genes.
This movie is special. I am happy they enjoyed it. I wonder how much Babu understands sometimes, but Ruby could thankfully explain some to him. Ruby does not miss much, she is a great person for a reaction like this.
Babu’s so impressed by the magic of film making and CGI god bless him
Babu is the world’s biggest sweetheart to sing that song for Chani at the end!
2:40 Babu: run! run!
Ruby: shhh
keep it down man, they’re trying to stay hidden! haha
Ruby kind of ruins it for me.
@@MAGGOT_VOMIT Babu totally ruins it for me. He gets basically only the visuals and the sex scenes. Barely anything else.
P.S: Don't get me wrong. Not arguing with you. Just sharing my opinion. And I respect your's fully.
I am HERE for Ruby, she picks up on more details than a lot of reactors which is so refreshing.
I love Ruby she's so smart and understands the small nuances of a film. Keep having her come back!
Ruby is very good at diseccting films. So good to see her
I love how Ruby was cheering for the worms to eat everyone during the battle 😂
Ruby and Babu's reaction at 33:12 is priceless.
🤷♂🤷♀
this is the funniest reaction to the kiss scene on youtube right now hahaha love it
@@templesleeper27 its great because its not even out of disgust which is funny. They just shrug it off as like "Well okay then i guess"
@@gooddoggo3547honestly it is disgusting like they're uncle and nephew bruh
@@krishnakumarichodisetti6763 I forgot about that.
Babu's song at the end would have fit on the film's soundtrack, absolutely.
Babu's little song at the end knocked it out of the park with his table percussion.
Ruby is very passionate when she likes a movie!
These two are better film critics than 99% of UA-cam!
21:51 was literally my reaction when watching this in iMax
NO WAY! Ruby! Welcome back!
Oh and I would LOVE it if Raeen and Saru were to see both parts as well.
Yeah, if you want to have them watch both of them, we’d all watch that too.
Let them binge it haha.
Their reaction is raw, pure and legit. I simply love it.
To Babu's point, it was extremely hard to come up with a proper setup to film the scene where Paul jumps and falls on the worm's back. Villeneuve explains that in an interview. They had to create a very large platform which they could move and "shake", and then dump large amounts of sand without endangering the stunt double. The end result is immersive.
There is a behind the scene short. It was a giant bowl with sand and dust cannons.
And they also used giant trucks to collapse the sand dune while a stuntman was running at it. Totally insane.
@@Trazynn is that online??
Ruby and Babu are such an underrated duo! And with such a complex movie too, they could be together more often!
the "ooooh' they both do when stilgar is talking about the water truly shows how incredible javier's performance was
I get the comments at the end, about feeling like you're actually there. This film is so universal. Talented writing and directing. One of my favorite films this year.
The director Denis Villeneuve has been a life long fan of the Dune novels since he was a child. This is what you get when the director is an actual fan of the source material, masterpiece.
Visually, I'd say you're right, but as an adaptation of the novel, part 2 really screws the pooch.
@@Hide_Me how so? It’s been a few years since I read it but the only change is Chani from what I can tell and it kinda makes sense, using Chani to telegraph to the audience that Paul has changed. Paul even says she will come to understand in time. No adaptation can be perfect but I think they nailed it for the most part.
@@ryanhampson673
Dune part 2 changed a bunch from the source material and turned a bunch of characters into their opposites from the book.
Chani's insistence that only a Fremen should save the Fremen and the entire dichotomy between religious (stupid, fanatical) and non religious (smart, enlightened) Fremen was invented for the film and was very much a response to the criticisms of the book at the time and current year social activism, it wasn't in the book where Chani was also religious (like all Fremen, and she was even next in line to become Reverend Mother if Jessica declined to take the Water of Life, and that's part of the reason she chose to do it) and she was behind Paul all the way.
they added interpersonal drama where there wasn't any (fundamentalist vs non-believer), and they took away the biggest source of actual Fremen drama from the book (Paul's sister).
also, the spacer's guild is entirely absent, even though the major reveal of the book is that the guild runs the empire, and they _hand_ paul the throne after he threatens to destroy all the spice. the entire theme about the true source of power is harmed by this change.
It also portrayed the Fremen as being much less technologically advanced than they were in the book (as near-luddites sitting under rocks wearing robes and using skylights instead of living in hermetically sealed chambers lit by suspensor lamps, making irrigation tech and stillsuits in factories), to play into the western view of the middle east as being primitive. with regards to how important water is supposed to be, Fremen would _never_ live this way, and it seems more geared to making things seem more middle-eastern instead of portraying a culture in a universe that is so far removed from what we find familiar, where ethnicities and cultures aren't tied to what they're like today. Also, Dennis seems not to have grasped that Fremen are active at night, not day, as only idiot off-worlders do things during the day because that's how they're geared from other climates. also, how the Fremen respond to death is changed also, as they're seen mourning loudly and wailing after Jamis even though a major aspect of their culture in the book is how death is so common on Arrakis, that they don't even cry for them.
part 1 covered about 65% of the book and was remarkably accurate with only minor differences, so they had time in part 2 to delve into this stuff that they just discarded, rather than inserting a 5 minute rant about centipedes and djinn. hell, the 80's dune may have been a poor film which still added in a bunch of nonsense, but that film still gave a more accurate adaptation than part 2.
It seems like a film made in response to and to appease the criticisms of Dune instead of a movie adapting Dune.
Paul's ascension to the throne is a terrible thing and the book's Chani was all for it. Without changing her, the audience would be watching everyone cheering on Hitler coming to power and be left confused as to what the movie is trying to tell them. Chani grounds that experience and gives everyone a moral compass.
That's also why Feyd is a more 'sympathetic' character than in the books. In the books he's a bored incompetent playboy who is given everything on a silver platter. In the movie Feyd is honourable and merely obsessed with martial skill. It feeds into the question whether it might actually have been better to have him as an emperor, despite how terrible that still would be.
They were on the edge of their seats during the finale 😂
Damn ...they are waitchin this before me😂😂
Lol same
Me too. I jumped to the end to hear their opinions without seeing spoilers.
It’s such a good movie - I’m not a huge fan of sci-fi (or big budget action movies in general) but I loved it. Definitely recommend :)
I don’t know if it still is but if you can see it in a theater go there like RIGHT NOW! Lol. But honestly the scenes, sound effects, visuals, it’s all made for the big screen and it’s so intense seeing it like that.
Ruby is very perceptive and sharp, keep it up ma'am
I love how she watches with the "big cat" gaze. I do it too.
It's great to see different cultural interpretations of the films :)
As a bloke that enjoyed the books it's great to see a different and positive reaction to the films :D
I love seeing reactions from people not from a culture I grew up with.. really gives fresh perspectives.. both of these amazing people bring their own skills and soul to this reaction.. from California USA thank you both for your wisdom
It's great to see Babu!! He really gets into these movies.
Great movie, thanks. And happy to see the smart Ruby !
Baap Re Baap Re! I love watching movies with these two!
Babu's singing and beating at the end about love is awesome
This was my FAVORITE Dune 2 reaction, EVER! Thanks for this!
27:20 she really likes Mohiam and the Bene Gesserit 😂
As always, I’m here for the songs. Babu is a national treasure.
I love Babu! You guys have done so many special things for him!
Ruby is the best ^^
"This is all a game of technology" Yes. YES. YES BABU. Y'all get it 1000%
It´s so heartbreaking to see Ruby almost cry at 56:45. She can completely understand Chani's pain after she was always at Paul's side, only to ultimately not be chosen as his wife.
The best part was Ruby hushing Babu during the ambush scene🤣🤣👌👌
I’ve noticed that they use the saying “he is your father now” a lot in these reactions can anybody translate the meaning of this phrase? I’m unfamiliar with it.
probably when you die you go
back to your father (god) or something
It's literally the same as 'who's your daddy now?' which means 'he's bigger and tougher than you' 'he decides what happens to you'.
It means that someone is superior to you, for example in a fight.
@@Trazynn lmao makes more sense now ty
The sandwalk is a way of walking that hides your step from the Sandworms.
If you make regular rhythm with your steps, it will draw a Worm. The sandwalk is a walking in an irregular rhythm, so the worm doesn’t come for you.
The TRUE OG panel. Ruby and Babu!
I love at the start he screams loudly RUN RUN! And she said "shhhhh quiet! This is a mission that requires stealth." 😂😂😂
Like she was so emersed in the movie she that "we have to be quiet in real life!" 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤ loved these two!
Loved your honest reaction :)
I was waiting for this! Send babu my love.
This is great. He looks so invested in the story. Love this reaction ❤❤
I get the feeling that crossing Ruby would be one of the last things you ever do...
ive been waiting for this more than any other film watched here, this is definitely my fav react channel they are the O G!!
My favourite quote in this was
"They became very fair
after bathing in diesel" 🤣
So finally Ruby is back, so there should be no more obstacles to do the last two Potter movies. We were left without an explonation, why didn't they finish it.
Babu learned quickly today that Ruby won't stand for his inane blabbering! 🤣 Shame he didn't realise it was water that they were taking from the bodies due to the dryness of the planet.
Ruby loved this film I could see her following every beat with understanding and excitement
i like watch this perspective of the Dune story. It was interesting to see how different cultures reacted to certain scenes. Ruby was funny. how she had to connect Babu about what side he should be rooting for .
I would like Ruby to watch "Stardust", "The Fifth Element", "Alita:Battle Angel".
The entire movie was him motivating tribal people to his cause and it looks like it's working in real life, too!
Beautiful reaction of two precious holy beings for this wonderful follow up movie of Dune (part 2). Love the end song friends. This movie was directed by a fellow men of Quebec province of Canada. All the best!
Ruby’s back! Hooray!
This may be the most wonderful thing I've ever seen !
Jessica forced Chani to execute what the prophecy said so the others would believe it was a miracle. Chani didn't want to so Jessica used the Voice on her to make her do the thing.
Of all the react videos, this is the one i enjoyed the most. Loved to see Dune with them
Who knew Babu was a jammer?
This and the reaction to Dune Part One are the best reaction videos from the two movies in YT.
I'd love to see them react to behind the scenes of other popular movies and common ways films are created
There's a reason this film speaks across languages and backgrounds, it speaks to us all.
Another Part Two that Ruby hasn't seen yet is Avatar 2. She only has seen the first one. Babu has seen both. So maybe if you can get some of the others watch the first Avatar she can synchronise with the second.
When the characters are speaking in the Fremen language (Chakobsa), is that dialogue subtitled in Hindi or dubbed like the rest of the movie? Just curious if they are getting to hear the Fremen language as it is spoken in the film
They usually dub over other languages so its possible they dubbed it in hindi.
I could see them maybe doing both - a subtitled version for literate audiences and a dubbed version for less literate viewers. But I can't say for sure. I would be interested in knowing the answer.
Their skin looks pale because the star that Giedi Prime orbits, is a black star, it bathed the planet in infrared light, which makes them look pale-But in normal light they do not look so pale.
Dune part 2 and Kung Fu Panda 4 are the most successful films of 2024 so far. But I can bet my bottom dollar Deadpool and Wolverine will break records
More reactions with Ruby would be fantastic!
Ruby is back :)))
PEAK CINEMA
I'm glad they enjoyed it! :)
i love these so much. this kind of stuff cures racism for real. 99 percent of us are just people trying to live and be kind

it would be cool if they would sometimes react to behind the scenes of movies
great stuff!
Lisan al-Gaib!
I wonder what will happen if DUNE part 3 premiered at India Cinemas...
Hey, really dug that little grove you were doing at the end. haha
I am glad they enjoyed Dune, the book is amazing
Ruby...this was the first time I've had the pleasure to see one of your film reactions (as an American woman, must say I just loved it)...quick question as a linguistically challenged person: the term "Babu" (per Google) = beloved one...appreciate to know if you lovely people are a couple, or the gentleman is Ruby's father? ❤
Love Ruby ❤️
i had no idea babus hair was so slick!
South asians do be having fine hair.
I love them both!!!
It is indeed deadly music lol
Did they have subtitles in their own language or did they understand the English?
Love this reaction!
If you're taking suggestions, I think they would enjoy "The Abyss" (1989) and another old favorite of mine is "Starman" (1984).
Request for future episodes- can we get a link to a UA-cam track (if there is one) of an original versions songs that Babu sings? Would be cool to hear them.
Also, I love seeing their reactions to English videos, but I wonder if they’d do one where they explain an Indian film to us.
Thank you for DUNE 2 but will you EVER finish the Harry Potter series???
RUBY!!!! I saw Ruby!!!! ❤
I missed her a lot!
"Somethings not right here".
I think thats the point?
I mean lot of people don't get it but atleast these people do
Aye.
Exactly, in a way the water of life did kill Jessica and Paul, they are not the same after drinking and awakening.
