What code did you get to repair this? I just got s4 after driving for couple days nothing hard. I received a p17d800 code (torque limitation due to clutch temp ) I’m just wondering am I screwed?
Very good information. I liked the way you explained it. You have me 2nd guessing myself reading the comments and hearing you explain this. I'm ready to instal my mech repair which is just the 2 plugs. Gettin code p179d00, car shifts great still. As soon as it heats up, I get the malfunction error on screen and it starts to run a little rough. Especially going into reverse. Sometimes reverse doesnt work until I engage it a couple times. Any help is appreciated. 2010 s4 dsg 👍🏻
Ended up installing the mechatronics repair kit from ecs and my car has been great since. Granted it's been less then 1000 miles, but I am confident it fixed the issue I was having.....for now🤔 No more transmission codes or issues I was explaining in my earlier comment.
I'm about to do it, question: Did you put the selector in NEUTRAL before dropping the mechatronic? I think you mentioned, but I want to make sure. Thanks!
when you say it need to be reprogrammed when you change the selenoid, is it doable with VCDS ? only adaptation of the selenoids or it need to be programmed by audi

Hi dear please help me.. My car audi a7 3.0 tfsi s tronic 2011... When i reduce the speed slowly to full stop from gear 2 to 1 will band.. Feeling like had accident from the back... I did alot of things to solve this issue like changing gear oil with filter and spark plugs, coil, air filter but it still the same please any advice what to do????

Well.. i have the problem with the selector lever sensor on a q5.. is it possible to change this part this way? This would make it alot easier! Scanner gave these codes: P179E and p179F

Not a big deal! Remove the inline filter housing, remove the cooling lines, remove the Electrical plug Extension “ so you don’t damage the hardwired Hardness” loosen the mech! Change the plastic done!
Thanks for the video, quick Question tho, I replaced the sensors with the Audi Repair Kit on my Audi B8 S4 and that didn’t solve my problem which is Transmission code P17D800 [096] - Torque Restriction due to clutch Temperature... So I ordered a whole new Mech Unit which is on its way, before I swap it out with the brand new one I notice you said it have to be programmed, How do I go about doing that myself since All Audi dealerships are close due to COVID-19... Been researching and working on this job for a month now getting frustrated, since I can’t Drive vehicle due to when accelerating it goes into limp mode.
My son has a 2011 S4 and the auto repair shop is saying the entire transmission needs to be replaced and costs 20k or temporarily fix by replacing the mechatronic valve for 6k he’s only had it 6 months and it had 60k miles..

I replaced my transmission but used the TCU that came with my old transmission the problem its having now is it jerks when shifting from Gear 3 to 4 when I scanned it shows 8098-vehicle speed sensor P0501 00 (109) implausible signal 8099 - vehicle speed sensor P2159 00 (109) implausible signal

just the Mech unit and wiring, is easy. What I needed in the end was the shift sensor, And that requires a complete tear down of the transmission.
