Yeah ETA Prime is the best. I am getting into all this retro gaming setups I'm still very much learning but he has helped and I'm keen to setting up the best retro setups I think this Odroid is awesome 😁 I remember when I was a kid I spent $100 on a brand new SNES game growing up. It's insane what we can do now 😎
When you mentioned that the ODroid XU4 blows away the Raspberry Pi 3B+, I realized that I don't have a firm understanding of the relative emulation capabilities of different platforms. I would love to see a video outlining your recommendations for a range of emulation setups ranging from Raspberry Pi 3B+ up to a modern gaming PC with an explanation of what is and is not possible at each level (maybe with a handy chart at the end!). Love the videos, thanks for all the hard work!

A look at specs sheets will make it clearer. RaspB is limited to 1gb of slow ram.

I've tried running Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the Northstar) with DEMUL and the graphics are screwy but other roms like Metal Slug or KoF work perfectly.

Just purchased my Odriod N64 Case and new XU4 board and let me tell you this is the future of SBC's. The case is NOT small! Bigger than a NES or SNES mini, bigger than the Pi Mini cases but you have room to play with. Great screen, room for HDD and the emulation is great. BOTH A MUST HAVE!

These recent developments with Team ORA and what they're doing with the XU4 and the progress made with Saturn and DC are great to see. They also took me by surprise. I wasn't aware of any of this just a few weeks ago. I actually bought an old Optiplex i7 machine right before finding out about this. I'm still looking forward to playing with Mednafen on that. This is cool for me because I picked up an XU4Q a year ago, just because I like Odroid boards, and I've been thinking about the best use for it. Thanks for showing these updates on this project. It's great to see.

Would you be able to do a video on how to setup the new ORA image on the Odroid? Having a hard time getting mine up and running. I have all my roms, bios, ready to go but not sure how get all the items in the right place.
How did you get blood enabled in metal slug 6? I'm having a heck of a time trying to get blood working on my odroid. I'm running through reicast. Please help.
Hey ETA Prime my only question is, can I put this in an arcade bartop? I want it only for Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on the Naomi emulator. I just want to know if I can play with an zero delay usb encoder and arcade buttons and joysticks. If so, I want this bad boy!

Question, I am burning Odroid xu4 retro pie images using win32diskImager and EVERY image is showing up incorrectly on my screen. I’m getting half an image. One half is the actual way it’s supposed to look and the other half is just a bunch of colored vertical lines. I’ve used the odroid in the past. You thin it just went bad or something ? Damn near new.

Been messing with a Pi 3B for ages now, REALLY want to get some beefier systems going. Think its worth jumping ship to the ODROID at this point? I guess the big question is that is there any BIG draw backs from switching it up? Seems like it has all the systems the Pi version had, plus more.
ETAPRIME, I have a cabinet being made with Pi 3b. I really only want to be able to play Atomiswave (Fist of the North Star mostly). Should I upgrade to Pi 4 or ODROID?

Three questions: 1) is there a way to change those game load screens? they look super tacky! 2) can PlayStation boot intros be enabled (for games, not system turn-on)? and 3) how well does KODI work?

I'm very interested in getting one of these, but ne thing that i couldn't find about it is if it's compatible with my Hori Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai (PS3/PS4/PC compatible). I know this stick has native Xinput support but i dont know a thing about these sbc systems.
I’m looking to upgrade from the pi2 in my arcade cabinet. This looks great, but is it possible to output to 15khz 240p arcade monitors using software as you can on the pi using jpac?
Hey ETA Prime, I'm building one of these and adding my own splash screens and front screens but there is a lot of video lag in the splash screen where the audio gets out of sync from the video. Is there a way to fix this? My splash screens are .mp4 1920x1080 h.264. Also, the background music has a lot of static noise, would you know anything about that too?
I will use one mini pc like a heavybox in a arcade cabinet with a video out always vga 640x480 15 khz.

Any fix coming for the issue with Dremcast, Naomi and Atomis Wave being unplayable from a HDD? It's just you can't really fit many of those on an SD Card...
Hey, complete newb with this stuff. I ordered the gaming kit from ameridroid and have a 256g micro SD flashed with their latest ordoid software. How does one get roms onto the micro SD on a mac?

Best Saturn emulator (on PC) is Mednafen and it's RA core version, lr-beetle-saturn. It even supports CHD.

ETA Prime question. Have you heard of ICade before? And if you have. Have you done any custom retropie projects with it? And if you haven't. Have you seen someone in UA-cam that has done it? I have one and I want to create a bartop retropie icade but don't know what I need to create one. I only have the icade, pie and better arcade buttons. Any suggestions?

Bro, where does the naomi roms go i put them in the naomi and atomiswave folder and nothing shows up, do i put them as zips? or extract em? folder em?
I WOULD LOVE to see the dreamcast emu running SPAWN :in the demons hand. a few years ago I played it in an arcade and to this day i haven't been either able to find a working copy OR an emulator that runs it smooth , if you could, PLEASE!

I am a late arrival on the Odroid scene. I've gotten an XU4 a few months back and tired using the GameStationTurbo image because it had all the arcade sim stuff set to go AND a fairly nice desktop. However it's quite dated and I am just wondering if you have any plans to create a video where you would take an SBC and put a modern Ubuntu with Desktop environment and then show how to install and SUCCESSFULLY run EmulationStation or Retropie with it. I'm thinking a much updated GameStation Turbo. I've tried 3 or 4 times and I just keep fuzzing things up and they don't work right after. The XU4 is definitely getting "old" in terms of SBCs. But I have to say it runs Ubuntu 1804 and Chromium so much better than my RiP3B+. I am just looking for the best of all things...Odroid XU4 with the awesome LCD working to run EmulationStation, updated Ubuntu with Mate Desktop, and Kodi. All able to run from a single desktop sign in similar to the old GameStation Turbo.

What should I buy the odroid or the Nvidia shield tv?
Any help here would be sincerely appreciated. With the Saturn emulator, I have all the correct bios files along with a few Saturn games in the iso/bin format. The problem I’m currently experiencing is when the bios screen loads, as soon as it looks like the game is about to load, I end up in the CD player screen? Any solutions?
Does it emulate Naomi2 games too? Does it run Capcom vs Snk 2 or Virtua fighter 4 final tuned?

I have the odroid case and will be installing this image on the xu4. What I would like to do is possibly dual boot the xu4 with the team ORA retro pie image and either linux or android so I can run Plex media server. Do you know of a tutorial or software to create a dual boot menu?
Hey ETA, I've been patiently waiting to upgrade my bartop arcade cabinet from a RBP3 to something more powerful to play some early 2000's arcade games (like Gauntlet Legends arcade version). Do you think the Odriod XU4 can handle these games? I think some of the mini-pcs you've demoed maybe a little too much for what I'm looking for.

Ok...for those asking, I personally use android (shield tv) but retroarch is more or less the same for all platforms...performance from the device of choice will be the only or major difference....for atomiswave and naomi 1 u need roms in bin/dat format accompanied with a lst file ...the rom extension that u will load from retroarch is the lst file ....as far as where to get them u can use google like all others have done...hint hint emuparadise will still work with the work around ....as far as android goes u cant play any racing or gun games from atomiswave and naomi 1 because of the inputs at this time....I think on the PC it's not a problem....as far as odroid or rpi I dont know about those types of games...my suggestion for everyone is dont only go for downloads, learn how things work and why they work ...that way you all can contribute in some type of way instead of just hit and run for downloads
Bought a Odroid, controller/s, Sd card pre installed with emulator, never worked. after swaping out several components, I finally gave up & round filed it

I have downloaded the new 1.5 Team Ora image but I'm having trouble with the Saturn emulator. Not a single game loads, all go to the Saturn CD Player menu. I have already tried switching Bios, and loading several game file types (bin, cue, mds, mdf, etc) none of them work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Try the other version I hear it works a lot better in terms of support for the games working out of the box.

Can't wait to try this version. Was he pretty much saying that we shouldn't run a hard drive with XU4? Does it take a certain one/size?
You can use an external just make sure you let everything transfer over when you first plug it in using retropie mount

Anyone know of a decent guide on how to relocate your ROM folder onto an external HDD? I've bricked my unit twice trying to do it from the documentation I've found on it so far.
Apparently I'm doing something wrong to the fstab file after I've mounted the drive.
So in order for this new up date you have to load the version 1.5 or can you update from 1.1?

Same problem. I've given up I've tried everything. All I can think at this point is maybe because I'm running off the usb flash drive instead of sd card.

Saturn Sega Rally ran at 30fps. It was only 60fps in the arcade.

I want to get into emulation with single board pc and I want a pc like case.
My gaming PC is powerful and I use lots of emulator but I am paling to get into retro pie/odrodi/raspberry pie. I love tinkering with things like this.
