    Xu4 does have a power button and does not require a unplug. Also the n64 case has a button on the front left you hold in for 3 seconds to turn on. When you shut down it goes into sleep mode and no need to unplug.

    I just bought the Odroid xu4 from Ebay. It looks amazing. I hooked it up yesterday, but having controller issues. The controller works in the menu, then I click on game and the controller is unresponsive. And I have to hold the power button in to turn it off.

    Also if you want even more save states just hold select and press right on the dpad it changes the save state slots. To go back to another slot hold select and left on dpad. To get better performance on some games change the emulator by pressing the A button repeatedly during game boot up. Look at a photo of the xu4 and you will see a long power button tac switch.

    So I am pretty much dead set on getting one of these. After much research the odroid setup seems to be leaps better than the pi. Can you comment at all about any input lag? I tried running retro arch and launchbox together on a older laptop and found it wasn't all that great as far as responsiveness using a ps4 controller. Also the controller setup was confusing and I couldn't really get the Bluetooth functionality to really stay connected and play like I wanted. Are the included controllers any good?

      Controls are good. I mostly play Mario kart and no mercy with friends no lag, at least I haven't noticed any. They are wired gamesir 3.. I dabbled in the past trying to set up retroarch and all the likes but I like how this is dedicated plug and play

      Thinking about buying a 400gb odroid with this same case.
      How do you currently feel about the purchase? Any system or game play issues?
      I love the fact that there is so much customization and tidbits like game info/facts, game previews, loads of unique artwork, etc. Looking forward to your updated opinions!

    "The Sega Dreamcast came out in 2000"
    ....It's release date was 9/9/99, they even made a big deal about it in all the ads..

    Are there any of these emulator boards that can run everything, like snes, GB advance, n64, ps1, ps2, gamecube, dreamcast very well and in 1 place? They all seem to be missing either one or the other.

    • @johnleewins3814

      For gamecube and ps2 you'll need more power. Typically a pc build. Check out ETA Prime he has great videos, or look in etsy guys make pc builds ready to go

    I have a raspberry-pi 3. So far alot of the N64 games are unplayable. I've heard the Odroid plays all of them nearly perfect. Is this true?

      I didn't test all of the n64 games, but my go too No Mercy worked flawlessly. Also played Goldeneye, Mario 64 worked just fine. For n64 it's powerful enough.

    • @johnleewins3814
      @johnleewins3814  5 років тому +1

      I've had mine for 4 months and hasn't failed me yet. On another note if your considering it for retro gaming, I also have the Shield Tv for over 2 years and that still works great and is more powerful.

    How much was this? How many 64 dreamcast, ps1 games does it come with? Would you recommend it?

    • @johnleewins3814
      @johnleewins3814  5 років тому

      $260.. came with two wired controls.. 37 dreamcast, 189 n64, 20 PlayStation. You can add your own roms to the sd card and remove the game you don't like. I would recommend it if you don't want to spend the time on putting it together, if you'd rather try your luck look up etaprime he has great how to videos.

    You should have compared the Odroid to a raspberry pi and also to a more powerful PC system and just talked about what games each can play compared to others and how they play compared to each other because that's really what I'm trying to figure out right now because a raspberry pi is the cheapest and it'll play most really old school games good supposedly I hear but people claim it won't play a lot of the Nintendo 64 games really at all hardly or even a decent amount of MAME games because it's just not powerful enough, mostly games that are 3D I heard don't really want to play with a Raspberry Pi like all the Tekkens really also but the Odroid I heard will play more MAME games and more N64 and it'll play pretty much every system all the way up to PlayStation 1 but if you want to play playstation 2 or newer you would have to get a more powerful regular PC set up but I would like it if you would talk about all this some since you have this and I don't and just compare the Odroid to a raspberry pi and a PC set up if possible thanks.
