James is lesser derivative of Kemp with considerably less heart to go over the roughest, toughest, biggest opposition and never developed mid range or 3-point game. If Kemp and James switched places then I believe that Kemp would have 6 maybe 7 rings in his place. He'd average 4.5 posters a night with the hearts of his opponents on a bob.
I still don't know how in one year, he became a shell of his former self in Cleveland. And while I will admit he did put up all star numbers his first two seasons there and even started the all star game in his first season with the Cav's, but by then he had clearly lost several inches off is vertical.
I don't think he ever got over Mcillvane getting that big contract instead of him and to this day, I still have not heard a good reason of why they did that.
@@TheCancerkilla My personal theory is they wanted a "dominant shot blocker." I might be wrong but I think he had one game against the Bulls in the 95-96 season where he had 9 blocks. However Earvin Johnson and Kemp were both pretty decent shot blockers in their own right, so they didn't really need Mcilvaine. Hardly even played him in the playoffs which is pretty indicative of how valuable he actually was. Not very.
@@TheCancerkilla It was ridiculous Seattle wasted that kind of money on a one trick pony which ended up really pissing off Kemp. McIlvane was absolutely useless if he wasn't giving you 5+ blocks a night. His offensive game was terrible, he shot FT's as poorly as Shaq did, and was a very poor rebounder for a 7 footer. He was so bad that he got relegated to bench warmer status in the playoffs both years he was in Seattle. I'd love to know what Seattle really saw in him to believe he deserved such a laughably bloated contract.
Ehlo was still playing in 97? Too bad Sonic didn't get to the Final to go against MJ again. Miss that Shawn Kemp, it was pretty unstoppable, too fast for centre to guard, too powerful for smaller Bigs. Shoot well from outside, good FT% so pretty unstoppable
i notice kemp always gave a great interview
Back when people had class I miss those days smh.
He really does. It's always classy and insightful
And as usual gives a good and genuine interview
a golden age of basketball :)
Great upload. Been wanting to see more from this game for ages. Thanks!
If only Kemp could bring his A game in today's NBA era, he'll probably dominate Lebron.
one thing for sure, lbj cant stop kemp's dunk and lbj will get the most powful block from kemp in his life

I like PJ Brown but he wasn't strong enough to guard Kemp. That second dunk is awesome
I can't believe no one talks about what coaching did Doc Rivers' voice.
Always luv ya Reignman
RIP Craig, but why ask about the guard play and I'm the player of the game. Great being humble Shawn, this man needs to be in HOF

mikeisss79 it was crazy!
The lockout killed his career.

THE REIGNMAN
It would have been a great Finals matchup
had the nba went by the standings then the #3 vs #6 matchup would've been sonics vs wolves
the #2 vs #7 matchup would've been the rockets vs suns
how about the 1997 finals being between the bulls + rockets
Gotta Kop dem kamikazes again! Thanks for the memories homeboy!#BADMAAANASKTHEMAILMAN
who was sonics number 3? He looks whiter than eric Snow
craig ehlo
the goats tied literally always have + will be wilt chamberlain + bill russell
gary payton wasn't as elite as lenny wilkens + spencer haywood
