    Sebelum kita nak steam, sos yg u mixed bubuh di atas dahulu 15 minutes, stanby, baru masuk ke dalam steaming pot, ini boleh membawa isi ikan lebih wangi dan harum.. Good try semua pelanggan di rakam video ini dan support kepada Miss Somjit.. thank u very much!

    Hi Somjit! Wondering why do you need to pour sauce for the 2nd time after steaming mid way. Why not just put in all the sauce at the start?

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  3 роки тому +2

      Hi ellecll, yes, pouring it all in at first would work as well. For me, I poured it a second time as I wasn't sure if adding the sauce in the beginning would cause the gravy to overflow as some liquid will be added when the fish is being steamed.
      So I added the first amounts of seasonings to have the fish steamed with the lovely fragrance, and the second time, I checked whether adding the rest of the sauce would cause the gravy to overflow.
      Hope it helps 😄

    Hai Somjit.. Recipe bagus dan lenkap, tapi disini paling mustahak pada masa steam ikan.. Ikan yg kecil saperti ikan kenbong haya 8 to 10 minutes.. Sama juga ikan kelapu ,ikan tidak dilupai rm 1700!se kg atau siakap, steam masa haya 12 to 14 minute, tapi air u kena panas 4 minutes dahulu baru kita bubuh ikan untuk steam.. Cabai merah potong harus bubuh di atas ikan semasa kita nak bermula steam.. Ok.. Good job.. Somjit.. Kam Shia. !

    The is one very popular and delicious dish to make.. But can it be done with chicken meat instead? I know fish is definitely tastier for this dish, but will it be weird to cook it with chicken meat? Have u tried cooking? Thanks... 👍🏻

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  4 роки тому +2

      Hi fmI3131, Yes, sure you can use chicken for this dish. However, need to steam until the chicken is tender. If it is normal chicken 35-45 minutes. If it is free-range chicken (ayam kampung) probably need to steam for an hour. Then this will be so good. Thanks for the comment.

      @tanstanley5167. Yes, the fish is quite big and I am using induction stove, the heat is not as strong as the gas stove so steaming the fish take slightly longer. I tried with 15 minutes before for this size of the fish and it wasn't well cook. :) If using gas stove with high heat, 12 - 15 minutes is sufficient. Thank you for the comment 😀
