I learned this trick from Brad at the Poorhammer podcast. Drukhari Mandrakes aren't on sale anymore. No idea when, if ever, GW will bring the old Finecast kit back or remake it in plastic. But what you CAN do is grab the duel kit for Tree-Revenants/Spite-Revenants from the AoS Sylvaneth range. Just shave off the tiny leaves clinging to the tops of the mostly bare branches, and paint them like Dark Eldar emerging from or partially made of _smoke/shadows._ The Tree-Revenant parts even have hair not too dissimilar to the Mandrakes, and wield swords or sickles too.
Sororitas in general are easy to convert by just swapping arms around. The Novitiates box comes with extra arm pieces you could put on standard Battle Sister bodies to create a Hospitaller, Dialogus and Dogmata (and arguably an Imagifier). You could concievably turn the Novitiate Superior into a Canoness and run a decorated normal Battle Sister as the Novitiate Superior. You could also put decorative pieces onto one of the Battle Sisters along with a plasma pistol and power sword or some holy icon and call it a Palatine. A box of Seraphim comes with 5 extra jump packs and their assosciated arm parts so you could turn normal Battle Sisters into Seraphim/Zephyrim if you don't mind the standing poses and lack of flight stands. Also Druhkari vehicles come with extra bodies you could convert into Kabalites or Wyches.
I spotted the Ork Burns & Lootas trick years ago. Sadly I was far too late to really make the most of the Cultist/Guard boxes (I did collect 3 of them to assemble a complete H/W squad before their demise 👍)
@@DaRedWunzGoFasta yeah, 6 bolt snipers, 3 las-fusils, and 1 bolt-carbine for the sergeant, plus 10 heads so you can easily make 3 full squads from 1 box if you source basic Marine bodies :)
As a necron player it kinda sucks that we don’t have as much to work with as far as conversion goes. By this video’s criteria the closest things we got is the immortals which has the parts to build 2 different sets of 5 immortals and 5 death marks for 15 models but the problem is we only have enough legs and from chest pieces to build 5 so two thirds goes to waste essentially. (Although I’ve been scouring the web to see if there’s any STL files that are a good replacement with little success so far) There’s also the hierotek circle kill team box which gave you a technomancer and immortals for 50 bucks which is unfortunately discontinued
@@DaRedWunzGoFasta it’s not all bad, the last edition starter sets were good and I’m sure if you can get the new CP for around 120$ it’ll be a good deal
Instead of legs, take a page out of the ork book and just change method of locomotion! Put some bits and greebles underneath to represent some type of floating mechanism (that the necrons use a lot). Then just put it on a slightly raised base and your all good!

That's a sick conversion!!

orks are the best value army can make and convert so many things and all the old models dont really look out of place
How do you go with kitbashing a spanner for the other lootaz/burnaz
@jermenk there's enough bits to make both in between the Loota box and the old Boyz box. You need that arm I pointed out for one of them.

You can still take Heavy Weapons squads!
I see what you mean now! Yeah definitely do this kind of thing myself
You can build 7 Plague Marines. Or, you can build 5 marines, an Icon Bearer and a Death Guard Chaos Lord.
Dats right proppa kunnin dere!
Good video mate
The old boyz kits are getting harder to come by. Which isn't very smart for GW since they would sell more boxes if they allowed for more bonus bits.
You can still buy them brand new! Only $38!

Space marine eliminator kit comes with 10 sniper rifles/las. Only 3 bodies, but space marine bodies are a dime a dozen.
That's good to know!!

We'll loot em!

That is rough. At least you can take solace in the wave of cheap plastic from the discontinued starter sets and Imperium magazine.

If you buy some second hand old-school warriors you can make all 3 squads with some minor kitbashing
