Willie has earned my respect -- quite a good hunter. I enjoy watching him.
At his age. He is the definition of a true blue man. Ain't a bit of soyboy in him. When things get tight he will find a way to make it work. I don't find many people like him. Would love to meet him in person. But I KNOW that would NEVER happen.
People say big troy is the king of the swamp and i love troy! But willie is an absolute beast!! Willie is top dog in my books💪💪💪

Willie is gotta be one of the toughest guys out there, I have seen him shot by his own father and had to kill a gator with his knife cause the rifle jammed.

A) he is super skinny like his mamma, but woop, also our son is too! but here in CA, skinnyness is a 'wanna be' for a gal, not so much for a fella .. so its looked on like ill or something. At least where we live. He inspires our son(he is in his mid 20's) to not apologize for bein, slender!
B) hubby is a Louisiana fella, and growing up , different jobs he had, one was surveying swamp areas, so he luvs seein the show and going"Oh!!! I remember that area!" (nats and skeetos included),but hubby has brain cancer, so watching show - (& Willie, "I remember being scrappy back in the day! thin doesnt mean weak!", hubby says).. but both hubby's parents have past away now, & he misses Louisiana alot. Show helps him, even w/walker these days, to have happy memories of home~
C) I know some folks diss of show, ones that r "its so cruel" ..... um ... do u eat chicken? whats the differance? fishing, eating sushi .. uh, same thing! & Yeah, there is a camera crew so Willie and other folks in show arent alone in their boats, but who cares? Its a show and it makes alot of folks happy, seeing (like my hubby) home, and hearing their Louisiana accents : ) I & hubby will be sad when they end doing show someday. Hang in there Willie, Troy-etc! : )

Willie is one man I wouldn’t mess with poaching his lines. He reminds me of my Uncle C, someone poached his lines and he put it out that he best not catch them or they’d be bait. He never had another poacher as long as I can remember. He was the same size as Willie and just as tough, like compressed steel.

Submerge you some barbwire under water at the entrances and that will take care of your poacher problem. When their boat runs into that, they will be the ones in a heap of trouble. Be sure and mark the location with some fake lines and they will run right into it. Tangle their motor right up. They will not be back after that.
Willie actually has such a high I.Q. Even though he may lack vocabulary and book knowledge, he’s got an instinct that probably only about 10% of the population has, everything he does is so calculated that’s why he can do it alone he’s way smarter then the others.

Some camouflage, a rifle and a good scope would solve that problem. In Maine, messing with someone else’s lobster trap lines is a really good way to get shot.
