- HAPPY HOLI!!!! Since I arrived in India on December 30th, EVERYONE has been telling me to try to go to Pushkar for Holi and I'm so glad I did!!! It was the best first Holi experience ever and I definitely recommend playing Holi in Pushkar - even as a solo female traveler! I met so many amazing people at my hostel that I was able to play Holi with, and I also ran into my fellow UA-cam friends @mikeandashley !!! Check out their vlog for more Holi fun!
I started the vlog by shopping for some necessary Holi supplies: a white Holi shirt, some glasses with good eye coverage, colored Holi powder, and some coconut oil to stop the powder from dying your skin too much. The night before Holi I went to the big bonfire in the center of Pushkar (Holika Dahanam). I was so lucky that my one hostel friend told me to meet her up at the Madam D'Souza restaurant. It had an amazing view of the bonfire and was also a lot more calm than being down in the crowd - especially as we saw two cows stampede into the crowd right before the bonfire started!!! It was SO scary! But still a really cool experience. The following morning we got up early, covered ourselves in coconut oil, and headed out into the streets of Pushkar to play Holi! It was SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!! Almost everyone was very respectful as well! Honestly the worst was the little kids as they didn't realize they were getting powder in your mouth/eyes/everywhere 😅 We met so many amazing people and took probably one million selfies the whole day, but we loved it! I was also so surprised that the police were going out of their way to look out for us and make sure we were comfortable having pictures taken and stuff during Holi! Overall it was an amazing experience that I would recommend everyone to do!!! After I showered for about an hour and shampooed my hair 4 times, but all the color came off 🤗🤗🤗

I would recommend to avoid these kinds of crowd during holi bcz some are drunk sometimes misbehave with girls always go to the organized holi by hotels or organizers .
I’d actually heard that and expected some harassment….but we had an amazing time 😍 although also staying at madam d’sousa was so nice to be able to escape the crowd for a little!

@@NataliesPassportalways be more careful while travelling in UP or Bihar...as both states are full of backward people. North India is very unsafe leaving Jammu Kashmir, Himachal, Uttrakhand, Punjab. Rest south dinai and north east india are pretty safe.

Please visit South India. Visit once Cities like Bengalore and Hyderabad but must visit Specially ancient cities like Tanjor, Mysore, Hampi , Nellore and kanchipuram. Also visit Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Island and Goa. Must visit Darjeeling hill station, Gangtok, Guwahati and Cherapunji in North East India. Don't forget to visit Pune, Ahmedabad, Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) . And even Sardar sarovar Dam which has world's Tallest statue in Gujarat (Must visit). India is very diverse and apart from Taj Mahal there are too many UNESCO World Heritage sites present in India. We will wait to see your visits on those places.

umm it usually gets wild like near afternoon cause the guy's who are there still are mostly drunk.... ( I personally spend it in locality or a ticketed place so it doesn't becomes sticky)
Yes - the rooftop we went to was a great place to relax away from the crowd a little. Even though it got more wild, 95% of people were still super nice!!

Holi got crazier later in the day because everyone got drunker. On bhang, by choice. And then very late in the afternoon the streets were empty because everyone had passed out. ☺ Plus - a tip for other Holis you might attend - just slather your hair and skin in oil before the festivities. Don't stint, don't think of what others might think - just SLATHER. Handfuls of oil, thwacked on everywhere on your body and hair. Most Indians (and non Indian Holi vets) do this. Washing it all off afterwards is much - very much - easier.

🤣🤣🤣 when I got back to my hostel I soaked all my clothes in hot water and laundry detergent for about an hour while I showered (and washed my hair 4 times 🤣) but surprisingly all the color came out of my clothes easily! 😍

U can visit south India u can see variety of different foods temples heritage and culture especially Kerala and Tamil Nadu it's amazing, Kerala, munnar, kochi, wayanad, Ooty, coimbatore, manglore, Gokarna, Coorg, Bangalore, Mysore, Alleppey, Udupi, Chennai, Karnataka, Kodaikanal the world heritage site tanjavur bruhadeeshwara temple tamilnadu and palani temple tamilnadu here the god idol is made up of different types of ayurvedic medicines when we pour any liquid on idol it absorbs the medicinal properties and we drink the liquid we don't get any diseses
I made it to a couple of those! Munnar, kochi, Chennai. A little more in the south 😍 I’d love to visit Tamil Nadu more one day! Hopefully I’ll have videos soon 🥰

That colour powder is called Gulaal (Aabir in Bengali) and is actually made of river soil, so even if you end up ingesting some it won't harm you...just make sure to not let it inside too much in your mouth...cuz too much of anything is bad. Also, expect a little touching, but anything that makes you feel uncomfortable..please speak up and let people know you're not liking it.

The crowded part did get a little intense 😬 luckily we made friends with the people working at Madam D’Souza which was the perfect place to escape the crowd for a little and relax with a nice view 😍

That’s why I booked a hostel - to meet some other people before the festivities. And as you can see in the video I met so many cool people!! I’m always amazed at how many solo girls are traveling India and love it 😍
