Exploring RISHIKESH🇮🇳 India Travel Vlog:Ganga River, Pink Temple, Beatles Ashram, Nayarama Sanctuary

- In this Solo India Travel Vlog, I'll show you around Rishikesh, India where I spent almost the entire month of January! Rishikesh is known as the yoga capital of the world. It's also one of the religious cities in India where there is no meat and no alcohol allowed in the city! I even found it difficult to eat eggs as most places substituted things like tofu scramble. I start by leaving yoga school and checking into the amazing Narayana Sanctuary where I had heat and hot water and a bathtub!!! I didn't realize Rishikesh was so COLD in January! The following morning I start by walking along the main street of Rishikesh down to my favorite cafe - Tat Cafe. It's right next to the famous Beatles Cafe and has the most gorgeous views of the Ganga (Ganges) River. After having a delicious breakfast I walked clothes to the river for the best view of the famous pink temple. Unfortunately the famous bridge in Rishikesh is currently under construction, however you can still get a good view of the temple! I continued walking down the hill to 'the beach' in Rishikesh where you can pay 40 rupees to take a boat to the other side (which you would normally be able to cross over using the bridge). Luckily the boats run really frequently and it's a super quick ride! My video shakes in the middle as the guy sitting next to me asked for a selfie on the boat (something that happens VERY frequently in India!!!). I decided to go to the Beatles Ashram before the pink temple as the ashram closed earlier. I thought I would take a tuktuk there, but I couldn't find one so I ended up walking the 40ish minutes there. I was confused when I arrived as the entrance to the Beatles Ashram says 'Tiger Reserve', however this adorable boy who was selling Tilaks told me it was the ashram! The entrance price for foreigners was 1,200 rupees. I spent a couple hours walking all around the Beatles Ashram. There were so many cool buildings to explore! From meditation huts to dark, creepy basements to rooftops full of graffiti. I also saw the famous Beatles murals. When I left I walked back to the pink temple along the Ganga River. It was a really nice walk that I hadn't done before! It took me almost exactly 40 minutes from leaving the Beatles Ashram to arrive at the pink temple (Trayambakeshwar Temple). There's a place next to the entrance to check your shoes and then you can start the climb up to the top. The view from the top of the temple is amazing! You can see all of the river Ganga and the beginning of sunset was stunning! I then left the temple and crossed back over the river to watch sunset at BeMonk Restaurant - an Ayurvedic restaurant with great sunset views. After dinner I went to So Hum Cafe to get dessert with some of my friends from yoga school who were still in Rishikesh. It was such a great day exploring Rishikesh, India!!!

Some ppl r definitely not good & one should be careful but it should be true with every Country
Agreed! You need to be careful anywhere you travel, especially if you’re by yourself. I haven’t had any issues in almost 3 months in India! I’m having a great time 🥰

Great video Natalie, stunning veiws
Thank you! Honestly I’m SO happy I came to India - I’ve seen so many amazing places already! ❤️
Your videos give me SO MUCH LIFE! Wish I was with you!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Ahhhh I wish you were here too!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don’t understand why Indians here are being so defensive. That gangrape incident happened in one of the most corrupt and backward states of India - that too in a very remote location, where even Indians would hesitate to go. These things do not happen in popular and well known tourist locations or even in developed districts. That despicable event happened 1000 miles from Hrishikesh. All culprits have been apprehended and most likely will receive capital punishment or jailed for life. There are dangerous locations in India for women but they are few and far between. Just stick to developed areas. If you are going to backward, crime infested areas you need to carry protection equipment like pepper spray or some sort of a weapon like a taser. Best is to avoid crime infested areas like the one the unfortunate Spanish couple got caught in.
I COMPLETELY agree!!! I’ve been here in India now for almost 3 months and I’ve felt safe the whole time. But I also make sure I’m either home before it’s dark or I’m with other people if I’m out later. But those are just common sense things you should do most places in the world 🤷♀️❤️
@@NataliesPassport If you plan to camp. Do it in the Himalayan region especially Uttrakhand. Much much safer. But do take precaution my lovely. Welcome to India, ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Namaste and Yes, you'r dang right, India's a cultural melting pot with breathtaking diversity and spirited humanity. You look glorious in Inde' with your amazing moments and dazzling smiles. Just soak into the ethereal and enchanting beauty of nature.. golden deserts to rain forests, himalyan snow peaks to back ocean creeks... the history, heritage, culture is huge and flippin' banger. To experience the mystic and exotic, have to devour a bit of insanity with antiquity. Just be simple and warm, works like charm... and the smiles will take you miles.. something you are already richly endowed with ;)). So feel pampered and make magical memories In Incredible India (ininin). Jóy Hō ! beautiful yoga master 💃👍

14:06 that red thread is called kalawa ...in Hindu religion we tie this on our right hand... It gives us strength and positivity... And saves us from evil eyes ..and
Actually, according to science, the nerves that reach most parts of our body pass through the wrist. In such a situation, tying Kalava on the wrist keeps the functioning of these nerves under control. It is believed that tying Kalava can prevent diseases like blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and paralysis.
Thanks for the info! I was always confused about which hand it went on.. some people said left and some said right 🤷♀️ but either way I miss having mine! Maybe I’ll have to go to a Hindu temple in Bangkok and find another 🥰

😍😍
I will tell you about two videos
1) Jaynagar to Janakpur train in Nepal old from 2006.
2) Jaynagar to Janakpur train in Nepal new from 2023
I searched Indian trains on UA-cam so the latest video I saw was Saffron Vande Bharat train from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.
If you search Indian trains on UA-cam in Non-English on UA-cam, then the 1st video has gone viral as Indian train on YT shorts. If you search for Indian trains on Tik Tok then the first video has gone viral.
CNN Philippines came up with a news that India wants to help Philippines upgrade their railway networks. Some Filipinos were writing comments like, how can that be possible Indians sit on the roof of the train.
So, I conclude that there is a section of trolls who are spreading misinformation about India.
I’ve been traveling all over India for over 2 months and I’ve taken a lot of trains! I think the train system in India is great!! The only issue is that so many trains get sold out or put on the waiting list far in advance 😅 other than that I love the trains here ❤️
Just in case you feel the craving, there are fairly good restaurants serving alcohol/meat just outside hrishikesh district about 11 kms away.
Thanks for letting me know! I actually had a great time without alcohol or meat for the month! It’s just so interesting because I’m not used to cities having rules like that. Although I’ve seen quite a few like that in India!
Hello nice sharing my friends save stay from Indonesian 🥀💯🤝✍️

Oh wow 😱 thanks for such an amazing, comprehensive list!!! I haven’t posted much, but I’ve actually been in India for almost 2.5 months now. And I’ve visited a few of those - like munnar, varkala, hampi, some of Himachal Pradesh. But there are still SO many places I want to visit in India!!! The country is TOO big!!! lol. I’ll have to save your list for when I return 🥰
Visit dehradun rajpur road as well you will love it there
Aww hopefully I can visit there one day!

India is a very huge and diverse country in the world 🌏
28 state + 8 union territory = India (36) 🇮🇳
And many more indian island like Andaman Nikobar, Lakhyadeep etc..🙏🙏
Omg I had no idea how diverse India is!!!!!! From arriving here in winter and seeing tons of snow in shimla to the craziness of old Delhi to amazing beaches in Varkala and tea plantations in munnar. There is SO much to do in India 😱
The ganga water they gave you is minty because they put Indian Basil i.e Tulsi it is sacred plant in indian culture and their mixture is called Charnamrit. One on your forhead is Chandan Tikka , shape is of Trishul , a Weapon of Shivaji(God), string of thread is "Kalawa" many hindus wore it as it is sacred in hindu religion , tied around wrist while chanting mantras help to keep yourself safe.
Thanks for the explanation 😍
hii.please come pachmarhi Madhya Pradesh in India.🎉
Aww I don’t have time this trip as I leave in less than 3 weeks (I’ve been here almost 3 months now 😱) but hopefully one day! ❤️
Muslims are around 20%
Hindus are around 79%
I think the best way to travel in India is with a trustable educated open minded Indian. He will suggest you some real gems such as inside village areas, temples, ancient structures. Unlike stereotypical places like delhi agra kolkata etc.
i will correct you muslims are 33% and hindus are 67% now in 2024. if you can't see by yourself and can't feel at your surrounding. if you still taking your data from 2011 census, it is outdated.
I’ve been here over 2 months now traveling alone and I’m having a GREAT time! I spent a couple days in Delhi, but I still haven’t been to Agra or Kolkata 😅
