Hi there Ian and Mike! I absolutely love, love, love your journal! The care and details that you’ve put into the journal is proof of your love of journal making. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of gorgeous art!
Wow! Outstanding project! I believe the fabric is Cathe Holden. Her style is Tim Holtz like, but more feminine, in my opinion. I love it, just like this mammoth book. Well done!! Definitely something to be proud of. Sending hugs from Ky, USA.
Thank you so much Ian and Mike. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a journal of this magnitude, it is absolutely breathtakingly Stunning. The attention to detail is superb. And you’ve spared nothing at all in the creating of it. 😮 I really really love ❤️ it and I’m so sure it’ll be out of my price range….the two packs are really really awesome too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
This is beautiful, Ian. So so nice and the size, WOW! Absolutely wonderful... I like all the fold outs, pull outs, and the original documents... really lovely. The vintage attire the ladies and Gentlemen are wearing is stunning. Don't show Mr. Bentley that card with the cat... he might get a little jealous... LOL. Ian, Mike, thank you so much for sharing it with us.
This is like Britannica of junk journals sizewise🙈 absolutely amazing and so inspiring, so beautiful and so chic. I believe junk journals tell alot about their makers and I think you must be one very patient, meticulous, humble and caring person, a true gentleman. In the realm of crazy junk journals, this beauty feels like a refreshing summer breeze. Great, great work.
Ian, this is amazing...I was spellbound watching all the pages/inserts going by. I was wondering if you could do a short video as to exactly how the pages are in the covers. I saw 3 signatures but only 1 piece of elastic. How did you insert the elastic into the spine? Again, I have got to jump on the bandwagon and start one of my own. Great photography Mike. Just fantastic.
Yesterday I bough very cheap about 20 old encyclopaedias 1800. And then regretted it cause the are so big I thought what am I going to do with the. Thanks for the inspiration. I no longer have regrets.
I really don't think that "work of art" covers this, it is beyond incredible what you have created here. I've never seen anything like it, you should be so proud. I would have that in a glass display case, pride of place so nobody could touch it LOL. Absolutely amazing, thank you so much for sharing 😊
What an amazing piece of art Ian. It should be displayed in a museum. I do love the ephemera as well. I wonder with the postal restrictions how easily it is to get them to America now. I’ve been putting off ordering anything from UK.
Fabulous! And I love the fabric cover. Definitely a journal that will be treasured by its new owner. Ian, are you going to be doing more journals now?😂 Thanks for sharing this beauty 🤗❤️ Tamara
Hi. Just found your channel and it looks to be right up my alley so I've subscribed. Love the journal. Do you have a process video on how you created the elastic binding method?
While I can appreciate the effort, this type of journal is not my cup of tea. All the pages are straight and uniform and the layout is organized, lacking dimension and interest. Journals that are wonky and grungy with uneven edges, ripped papers and torn pieces, strings and threads, etc. are far more interesting.
