I love the fact that it floats on PB. I prefer PB action over bearings. I don’t get much out of drop shuttedness. It’s cool but I enjoy the oiled glass action from PB.
@@johnnysilverhand1733that picture was of the 9. It and the LC Drift are on bearings. The other two are on washers
@@Krazyabe What's PB action and washers?
I want a knurled Drift SWSW so bad….I’ve been creeping the website, funny how this video came out today. Good stuff guy !
Excellent review. Makes me want one now. Thanks Jared
I ordered one of these as soon as they dropped! I love it! Now I own both the small and large models in textured titanium among all the other Quiet Carry knives in my collection! Thank you for the great video brother!!!🔪🖤🗡
I would 100% agree with you even though I haven't tried all their knives. The Drift LC is my daily work knife on the job site because of its corrosion resistance. But it has gotten so smooth and kept a good edge. It's so comfortable to use and fidget with. It's beautifully milled and has amazing acoustics. One of the best for sure.
This is an excellent video. I agree. My nine is absolutely near the top of my collection. Unbelievably good. I really want the large drift at some point as well. Just looks fantastic and it's my size. And you are spot on with what they're doing. Thanks man
I agree with you 💯 on Quiet Carry, I haven’t took my waypoint in black g10 out of my pocket since I got it last month and the edge is still razor sharp after tons of cutting,I’m very impressed with the quality and the performance of this knife lol,Now I need to get the nine and the drift,And the large waypoint when it comes out and I will really be even happier lol
Keep up the good work brother! Love your videos man
Damn, I'm definitely gonna have to get one of these. I love my original Drift v2, but it doesn't have a ton of cutting edge. Their knurling/milling is one of my favorites too. I have it on my drift and on the IQ-L. Super grippy without being aggressive.
As much as I wish my Drift LC had a ti show side scale and vanax, I love the blade hole and bearings and the LC200N is great!
Yeah Neeves I think what your saying about the factory edges is that the heat generated from the belt has a possibility of work hardening the Vanax. As opposed to other steels. But that is no problem if your using stones to resharpen as there is no heat involved.
I have the Waypoint and it's become my most carried knife, and possibly my favorite knife that I own. It is so well made, with no detail overlooked, and it's svelte. Svelte. I never thought that I would use svelte to describe a knife, but this knife deserves it. It's slim, narrow, lightweight, compact, has a classic, non-threatening design, and disappears is the pocket. The corrosion resistance is a bonus too. I'm looking to add the Drift to my collection in the near future.
And that hollow grind is just insane thin! I have one too and agree w you. 💪🏻💪🏻
Hmm. I have one of the original waypoints. Love the knife. But the hollowgrind isnt as thin as some of my others such as the boker urban barlow made by reate. Or the urban trapper made by reate. Dont get me wrong. I love my waypoint. And my drift and drift xl. Love them. Got a nine comming too.
What's svelte? I hear that from knife guys a lot
@@u_s_e_rname
Svelte
1 (adjective) being of delicate or slender build
synonyms: slender, slight, slim
lean, thin, lacking excess flesh
Smaller v2 drift is my favorite knife and I will take vanax over magnacut for a daily driver. They make g10 versions reversible for lefties also the waypoints. I would love to see some reversible clips on the titanium versions of other knifes. Love the company.
Love my drift so a larger version is a no brainer, completely missed the drop, so now playing the waiting game!
Absolutely agree, love Quiet Carry. Just got my Drift Large and waiting for December for the Nine to drop again…
I'm waiting for that large waypoint. Love the original and if the large is even close to as smooth as the big drift I probably won't carry much else for a long time. Lol
I was just saying how much I love my QC drift. Before all the hubbub about the large version. I’ll get one of these but I’m in no hurry. I have the original and love it w my mirror edge on it.
I’ve have this and the smaller drift the finger choil is larger on the smaller blade , They are nice knives for sure , but the Quitcarry Nine is my favorite
Love their milling as well. Some on the lockside would be appreciated
Cool video thanks.
QC is killing it, ain't no doubt about that!! I need one of those new Drifts BAD
Neeves Knives. I absolutely agree with you about Quiet Carry. I own the Drift. And the price point is great for what your getting in my opinion. See ya Jerad.
Vanax is absolutely amazing! The new shirogorov f95NL custom division is in vanax too 😍
I agree,It stays sharp forever bro,Definitely my favorite steel with Magnacut and then S45VN being my third favorite,But the quality and overall performance of the knife when you’re cutting with it is amazing
I’m currently lusting after the Quiet Carry WayPoint LC. It looks so good! That price tag, though! It’s okay, I’ll save up for it. ;-)
I just watched this video and you talked me into it. Right after watching, I checked the Quiet Carry website and they do have bronze and also black PVD full Titanium Large Drifts in stock. I ordered a black one. Love your videos, Jared!
awesome John yeah i can garauntee your gonna love it, i knew id like it but didnt realize how much id love it, and every time i use it it gets smoother and smoother
I just received mine, but I cannot push open the blade using just my thumb on the thumb stud. I have 30+ folders and know what the action should be (my Waypoint is perfect). Quiet Carry told me that the knife was tuned to their specs, perhaps I should practice the thumb flick technique. Or return the knife for a refund. I can't discuss an adjustment with people that make zero mistakes. Might it break in with more use?@@NeevesKnives
@@robertbarnum7541 it will definitely break in with more use, try backing the pivot out ever so slightly the tolerances are tight on this on so the slightest adjustment goes a long way, also make sure to add kpl or some kind of oil to the detent i use kpl heavy, the best for the washers in the pivot is slickem all from ocd4edc but you could get away with an oil, but grease is usually what you want on washers
Thanks for the help Jared. I love the Quiet Carry knives, but be careful about their corporate.@@NeevesKnives
That’s the trade off between LC200N and Vanax. Vanax has a smidge more corrosion resistance and edge retention. While LC200N is a lot tougher (almost CPM 3V levels of toughness) and allegedly, slightly easier to sharpen.
This one looks like an absolute banger.
I'm kinda curious, how does the ABW Model 2 titanium compare? I know you like that one too. And not for the first time, I bought a knife because of your review. I ordered a Drift today based on your review. Granted it's coated and brown (it's what was available), not nice and shiny, but it's still Ti, it's the same knife and should be just as good.
I originally thought it was called Vanax super clean because of its stainless qualities. Then found out it was because of the metallurgy process that is somehow very clean. Always learning something new that makes me feel dumb. Like that one time at Dennys when the waitress asked if I wanted soup or salad and my answer was just "yes" because I thought she was asking me if I wanted a super salad. To be fair I was like 7.
That's what I thought too
Super salad 🤣
Maybe I missed it, but do you have a link to buy these? Any discount code?
I agree w everything you are saying.
You gotta try ariat rebar jeans. They have a knife pocket
I have a pair of Ariat workboots that are great, I've got to check out their jeans
im gonna see if a tritium glow rhino thumb stud for bencmade can fit onto my 9.
Just picked up an iQ L. Hollow ground sheep’s foot. Insane action, fit and finish second to none. On sale for 180 it’s hard to beat for the quality you get.
I want to get one so bad but some people have complained about the lock bar being sharp… is it true? I think it’s a gorgeous knife
@@danpennellaI think the complaint is access to the lock bar. The scales are not relieved for your thumb, but there’s no sharpness. I don’t have any issues with it.
@@rodneyalaking8241 that sounds about right; I don’t mind not having a huge cut out so that shouldn’t bother me. I’m sold I just bought it! Thanks for the info I’ve been mulling this over for three weeks
@@danpennella You’re welcome. You won’t be disappointed. Such a great knife, exactly as Jarrod explains.
So is this Drift L just in for review or did you change your mind and buy one? I know you said you passed originally because of the washers. Im absolutely in love with it and it has the best action out of the box I've ever felt on a washer knife.
they sent it to me, i probably would have bought it if i had the funds at the time, if it was on bearings i know i woulda made it happen but since it was on washers i was holding back a bit as i had just made some large purchases, you know how that goes but now that i have it im pleasantly surprised how smooth the washers are and very happy with it, i think i was expecting stiffer action ya know
Dream knife!! My God!😮
I’m freaking over the moon with quietcarry, but only in terms of their bearing knives. They can keep those stupid washers
If the large waypoint is on ceramic bearings it’s an auto purchase 😍
Jared I'd bet you'd be able to sell those cardboard slicings as souvenirs!
Where can I buy a drift?
I love your reviews but it kills me when you scratch your nail on the milling 😂
I want that bad. Why dont spyderco use vanax for there new salt line instead of magnacut.
@matthewkuhl79 Im just saying from what the salt line has used in the past Lc200n compared to Vanax... It'd be a huge upgrade to those models . But Im a magnacut fan boy to. I buy the crap of a para3 LW in Vanax or Magnacut .
Your right about QuietCarry….When you first showed the Nine…I had to have it. Clicked the site and your carbon fiber was out. The next best was out. Months pass. You featured yours again. Going to bite on the black G10…and “Bang”….The Carbon one you have was available for a blink. Got it…and it was stellar. Got the LC Drift and it was cake. Now I have a knife boner for the new one.(Downside of watching your top shelf clip.)
Let's go!
Mine is arriving today and I’m so excited! I have the nine and the waypoint as well… and they ARE the best company around rn.
I wish they would put holes back onto the regular Drift.
Goodlooking knives for a reasonable price
This knife is looking pretty similar to the Sanrenmu 9008.
A bit upset they got rid of the finger choil. Would be nice to have on a bigger blade.
I Love most if not all Quiet Carry's line up, including the Drift, Drift LC, L Drift, Waypoint and Nine. But I have a small nitpick with the Drift. My OG Drift's centering is way off. Every knife reviewer generally acknowledges if the centering is slightly off or if its perfect. I'm wondering if they don't mention it on purpose for the original Drift because they're all off by a lot or if mine is just a fluke. Let me know if you have the same issue but I still love it's design and action. BTW, the Nine in Magnacut is freaking awesome!!! More folders in Magnacut please!
Mine is pretty much perfect maybe slightly off
Love it! But once again, right hand only.....ugh
Did you mean 0.36 of an inch? Bc you said 3.6 of an inch
The best knife company *that only makes one titanium model that lefties can use but isn't scalloped out so that the thumb stud can be flicked easily as a lefty*
I love my drift G10 but my GOD is it frustrating only being able to get a Waypoint in Ti as a lefty. Why they won't do the same for the Drift Ti is beyond me.
Thought the heat treat is done at Peters
im not sure it could be i just know they are made in Taiwan i can reach out and ask, im just saying ive been happy with the steels ive gotten from QC and most of the stuff ive gotten from Taiwan aside from a few experiences
@@NeevesKnives from early Quiet Carry “threads”, parts made in Taiwan, not sure about the blade, but heat treat was with Peters…but that was the beginning, now I can’t be sure. But I’ll take ur word over mine!
A pic shown had bearings inside. Was that a different knife?
It was probably the Drift LC (large contoured) ; it has bearings
Think it was the 9
I dream of affording a knife like that.
Not going to lie the emp relative is my dream knife
Knife of the year. Easily
Was it you ?, or metalcomplec that refused to pay for this exact knife because it was on washers.? And now you are trying to sell one to us.?😅
I think I remember one of them saying that? I personally prefer washers
Sounds like something metal complex would say.
I also don’t like washers but quiet carry kills it with their bearing knives, wish they’d release more models on bearings. I just bought my second 9, supposed to arrive today 🤭
Then if you throw some skiffs on them fugetaboutit, absolute world beaters
The only thing I don't like about Quiet Carry is they don't mark the place of manufacture anywhere on their knives or packaging. Sure they mention it in the FAQ section of their website, but not even the product pages show this information. Almost feels like they don't want to openly admit it which is weird.
Work hardened
I didn’t like the drift original, but the LC is 🔥.
So what did he do to "fix" his waypoint?
i do have a video on it, im sure you can easily find it by searching, but i also have other videos tuning lockbars
@@NeevesKnives Thank you for your quick response, but I can only find your review searching "waypoint". I also didn't know that you had a problem with the lockbar. I had hoped that it was about the washer and the action because mine is very stiff.
Except the problem with their company is that they never have or restock the knife you want.
which one are you wanting, i know these were available when i posted atleast 2 of the versions, they will be back in November or December i believe
@@NeevesKnives the nine in fat carbon
@@megbarrow1361 im sure it wont be long until they are instock again
QC’s clips are DIALED. Even the wire ones are stout and work on all my pants.
Dude they are super super thin. I wouldn’t be laying back my edge in this knife ever. 20°-22° max. I’m a whore for titanium as well 😍
TKELL was watching till 10:15, then got his feelings hurt, cried and went to bed…..😂😂
folding edc knives are very different from tactical combat knives
Titanium WHORE!! I love it. I’m having shirts printed up. I’ll send your cut brother!!
thank yoiu sir i might have some made as well
At teh 1:04 mark that's a bearing, the website says it rides on phosphorous bronze washers, that's not a PB washer at the 1;04 mark. Are they using bearings now, if so I don't want one, I hate bearings.
Can anyone tell me if those are ceramic bearings at the 1:04 mark? I don't own knives with bearings and I don't want to spend $300+ on one or more of these if they have ceramic bearings. Anyone?
Why isnt the milling on both sides!?!? Definitely a deal breaker.
Quiet Carry makes pretty knives, but I wouldn't bother with them. Too many complaints People saying they have rude customer support. If they can't stand behind their product with fair costumer support, there's no way I would give them my business.
I absolutely agree with their customer service, from my experience it’s not even that they’re rude it’s that they simply don’t respond at all……
Every knife company has their flaws, but customer service should never be one of the flaws. And unfortunately, that is Quiet Carry’s flaw.
With all that being said, there are definitely ways around it. I’ve sold a couple of their models on the secondary market simply because they weren’t responsive about the issues I had. And if it’s just that singular knife that has an issue, I’ll just go and buy the same model and the new one I get usually doesn’t have the same issues as the previous one.
Their knives are usually so incredible that I keep coming back to them time and time again. However, their customer service is definitely something they HAVE to take care of.
Thank you for pointing this out, they are so close to being a perfect company but they have to put the customer first in order for them to be up with the greatest knife companies out there.
@@HarrisonOrr1997 Yep, not responding, when they do, they're rude to people. Then they're charging people for expedited shipping on items in stock, but sending their package with normal shipping. Hopefully they can get their act together.
WORST KNIVES EVER DO NOT BUY! TOTAL RIP OFF! NO DELIVERY, MONEY GONE!
Never mind, this are made in Taiwan, basically China light, hard pass.
are you serious! Taiwan is not China at all, in fact they are our allies they are basically a part of the usa in many ways.
TAIWAN? 😂 HELL NO.. I’ll JUST STICK TO MY USA MADE OLD BUCK…
Do you
