  • Fire is a vital element for this remote village in the Amazon, but over the years, the knowledge of how to light a fire by hand has been lost. It can take up to a month paddling in a canoe to get a box of matches, so bushcraft instructor Ray Mears demonstrates a much quicker technique to the Yekuana people of Venezuela.

    In the original film the indigenous then go on to show and teach the children this technique. It’s awesome to see the knowledge being passed on.

    Making fire from scratch is one of the few things on my bucket list. I already made bread from wheat. (Although it was pretty bad)
