- Swords Only in Genshin Impact can be quite challenging at times. However, as the self-proclaimed master of "Weapon" Only challenges in this game, I am able to best any obstacle (probably).
Layla is finally on a banner, and since she is another sword wielder, we have to try and bring her home by wishing... And our wishes both went well, yet also not-as-intended...
HoYoVerse put out a tweet saying "Polearm Impact"... So I decided to take it upon myself to make a new account, but only use characters who wield a sword because absolutely nobody asked me to.

@@Phoenix_of_ice Raiden uses a sword unique to her attacks, just like Childe, whereas Al Haitham is shown using the actual Xiphos Moonlight sword… which means he’s a sword character
Layla’s actually a really good shielder! Definitely a guaranteed boost for the account. Let’s hope HoyoVerse is finally gonna start making good four stars again

I figured out sth by accident while using layla and albedo on my daily team: her cryo slugs can trigger albedo's flower and create a cryo crystalize shield at the same time. It's especially easy to do with her burst up at the same time. Now i can just stand in the middle of the enemies with my lvl 20 layla, not take any damage and watch my constructs do all the work 😂 dailies have never been more fun
Maybe I'll have to give that a shot 🤔

the transitions from swords only to main account and vice versa were actually so cool

Damn, That Kazuha transition was smooth
For Layla, your best option is 4p Tenacity set, with 2p Tenacity 2p Blizzard set being good alternative option.
As for the weapon, favonius is your best support weapon, while harbinger of dawn being one of the better dps options.
For Layla it's good to go for Tenacity of the Millelith or Emblem of severed fate, er% sword like favonius, and hp/cryo/hp - she's a subdps with a beefy shield
4 tenacity and fav/ER weapon unless you have Key ig. Tenacity buff is just too good to skip out on.

2p Emblem/Tenacity/Blizzard Strayer works too, depending on substats
Her damage is almost negligible. Usually better just to run 4PC ToM and HP/HP/HP. Can also do HP/HP/CR if running Favonius sword.
The plural for lotus is actually both “Loti” and “Lotuses”, it’s like how the plural of “Person” is both “People” and “Persons”.
“Lotuses” is the more common one, despite “Loti” being the original.

With layla you will have a masive boost on your account, but you have to build her properly, The set for Zhongli its the best for her. Hust stack hp and you will be fine.

Kazuha, Kaeya, Xingqiu, and Layla is a team I have been using ever since I got her, and it's been a lot of fun! I called it "Get Permafreeze'd", cuz the poor enemies can't even move lol
Edit: and yeah, I have Nilou's weapon on her, cuz I don't have Nilou, but got the sword while rolling for Jade Cutter a while ago
i play a version of this with kaeya, kazuha, kokomi and shenhe, and the DPS is enough for floor 12 (though ofc java cant play shenhe); permafreeze is super fun imo and while theres not that many big dmg numbers its really satisfying to see kaeyas burst hit 16-30k

5:46 if you stay close to the cube when it’s displaying the AOE for this attack, you can actually stay inside the vines- it’s vulnerable during this phase. I just attack it until the smallest ring closes in, then burst (if I don’t have a healer/shielder/tank/sacrifice) to i-frame through the implosion
i could have used this like 2 days ago, i was going for layla at 25 pity and other than that trying to save for scaramouche and i got childe on my literal first single pull at 26💀

Dw bro childe aint that bad, during the abyss he made 10k which I didn't think much about till I noticed he had a 1* bow and only 3 artefacts

I feel your pain, I got so many Thomas. Thankfully I did get Layla. Even at level 20 if you put decent HP artifacts on her he does some nice shielding.
Layla best character ♥︎ she's likely based on the Arabic retelling of little red riding hood (Layla means night in Arabic). ngl I can't remember what the different pieces of her outfit are called but she's wearing a lot of Arab inspired looking clothing, so I think they just used some purposeful asymmetry to highlight stuff like her elf ears. Especially because not only does it seem like her hood is literally made to only cover one half of her head... it's also made to have a hole in the back for long hair (like Razor/Zhongli in his Morax days). So the hood technically makes even less sense when you think of it that way lol
Side note but as someone with multiple builds for her because I love her, I am also using Nilou's sword on her (I'll just get another copy or something in the future :')) jade cutter is also good if you want a bit of dps/tiny bit of hp. I'd recommend ER sands though since especially without constellations it can be hard to get her burst regularly, and her skill's stars are her only way of really getting any energy from her directly. Either way I hope you'll have fun with Layla because she's literally now my favorite character ever along with Eula
Yesterday I got my first 5 star and it was Yae Miko and I’m SOOO HAPPYYYY!!!
I also got Diluc and Layla after that but yeah :)

2:54 as a C6 Layla haver she works great as a cryo support for specifically kaeya but also ayaka as well! she also works great with keqing!

Java, I feel your pain of wanting a 4 star on the banner and getting the 5 star....during the Ayaka Eternity Banner, I thought it would be a good time to try and snipe a Razor since I didn't have him at all.....Ayaka decided it was her time to come with a weapon instead of my wolf.....I did get him in a later pull and now he's dominating my weapon AND standard banner pulls

Apparently on the 3.3 update there will be itto ( geo claymore) and wanderer/ scaramouche (anemo catalyst) and on the second banner run, Raiden ( electro pole arm) and ayato (hydro sword)
Raiden won’t be on the first half, she will be on the second half

If we have a 3 star HP sword like Black tassel, she will have better shield but I think ER is still better since her Q will make her E projectiles have more uptime which is good if you have 4pc Tenacity and if you need more Cryo application

The other day I was short on stardust and realized the month was almost over and I hadn't bought all the free pulls from the shop, so I figured I'd do one 10 pull just so I wasn't wasting the free fates. I had 0 pity and no guaranteed so I figured their was no chance of accidentally getting a 5 star. Now I have c1 Yae (I had c0 from her first banner).

The Ayaka tram comp could be something like this:Ayaka+Layla+Xingqiu+Kazuha. I honestly think this would be better than having bennett in the team and enemies run away from you. For Keqing something like:Keqing+Kuki+Albedo+GeoMC will be better. This team also sounds fun to play.
Edit:You can also just swap out GeoMC for Bennett.

2 piece tenacity and 2 piece. blizzard strayer can be good on her, but if u only wanna focus on hp go for 4 piece tenacity, i personally did a physical build so yeee

You should use nilou as your hydro enabler for either your hyperbloom or freeze team, also please getting around to building her she's been stuck at lvl 50 for so long 😭😭
Same happened to me on Childe's banner... My guaranteed for Scara just vanished and I didn't even get Layla because I was scared I would get another 5 star 😭
I got Miko that same way, trying to pull for a cryo shilder. I wanted Diona, didn’t care about Miko, but I got her, and now with Dendro I’m building her
Just realised my favorite Layla team works for Only Swords. Layla, Bennet, Albedo, Jean. Keqing or Kaeya ought to work as well.
When he started pulling on his main, i was internally screaming "SWITCH BANNERS"

Layla isn't just the first sword shielder, but in terms of shield power she's second to only Zhongli. If you build her with 4pc Tenacity and Fav Sword, she will easily have 100% shield uptime.

I was so desperate to get a Layla that I had to drop like 60 wishes on the Childe banner, lost the 50/50, got my first Diluc, and then finally got Layla on the next 10 pull. Guess I'll have to figure out who I want guaranteed in the future haha
What keeps me up at night: For an earthquake is it cough drop over and hold?
