Sogno Di Volare really feels like it could be an anthem for all of humanity. I'm not a Civlization player but I play similar games (almost 2000 hours on Stellaris), and it always felt to me like this could be the anthem for the human species as an interstellar civilization, as this talks about our will to reach for the sky, on Earth first, but maybe further as we evolve. Really inspiring for me as I'm studying physics and working to become an enginner in spacecraft industry. It's a beautiful piece of music, and watching the video Christopher Tin released, like a tribute to human history, our mistakes and our successes, is still inspiring to me, in work, in my involvement in political movements, etc. Wonderful.
So glad you highlighted this track! I worked on Civ 6 on the Audio team and I remember the day Chris delivered Sogno di Volare and we got it in-game. It transformed the entire beginning of the game for the team once the previously silent main menu had this incredible, bombastic music playing on top. One of my favorite menu themes for any game. Appreciate your insight and analysis into the music too!
Finally some more Christopher Tin! His music laways gets me so emotional, glad to see you reacting to it! While it's not a video game song exactly I would suggest listening to Mado Kara Mieru from Baba Yetu's album Calling All Dawns, it is a setting of five haiku about the seasons sung by a different singer in a different stage of their life symbolising the cycle of life. It's one of my favourite pieces of music ever.
I adore how Christopher Tin makes use of so many languages in his work. It really drills home how there is a universal language that unites us all through the emotions and thoughts that music can conveys. Even without knowing a single word of the language you are listening too, there are such profound feelings moving through it that you can't help but feel you understand something. I especially adore certain tracks on The Lost Birds, with "I Shall Not See the Shadows" being a favorite of mine.
This theme is iconic for sure, like, I think that the most of the strategy games has iconic ost's or themes. For example command and conquer with ''Black Dawn'' or anno 1800 with The Crown and the Lion, or homeworld deserts of kharak has entire ost super atmospheric. Or my personal favorite Memories of the Lost by Endless Space 2. The list is massive. Strategy games can be nominated like that every month but for a reason of course.
this was great, it would be awesome to see you react to the rest of the Civ 6 soundtrack. The themes for each Civ are incredible and its such a unique game soundtrack with the orchestra and vocals. The videos, or if you livestreamed it, would be quite long if you do the whole thing cause the soundtracks for the base game and DLC are like 2-3 hours long, but I think it would be awesome.
As much as I love Baba Yetu (and calling all dawns as a whole) Sogno Di Volare is just such a beautiful piece of music. I have sat and listened to it innumerable times and it never fails to lift my spirit
I used to hum Baba Yetu in middleschool. Obviously I was the coolest kid there, but Sogno di Volare honestly gave me a lot of hope and courage at a time when I really needed it.
Lewis Ginley screaming melele at the top of his lungs will be forever burned into my memory, and so Baba Yetu is my favorite from Civ. If you know you know.
The Civ series def has some absolutely inspiring music. Civilization Beyond Earth, though not super well received, has “The Future of Mankind” which just… makes me dream of humanity venturing to the stars.
Now that you did this one, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Civ5: Brave New World Intro. The combination of beautiful narration, ethereal music and amazing message makes it an amazing piece of media.
@@chilihunter7392 Yes, the musical piece is called Terra Nova, but I mean the whole cinematic - the music elevates it to such heights it would be disingenuous to recommend the music alone.
please react to more music from civ 6, there are so many beautiful pieces. The most gorgeous vocals in my opinion are Georgia's songs, and the Brazil theme is also quite good.
Hi Marco! First time viewer, I really liked your analysis... Christopher Tin is such a good composer and always loved his work and you gave a proper rendition to this track. Just some months ago I listened Waloyo Yamoni from Tin... and for me it is superb, at the same level as Baba Yetu and Sogno di Volare in my book. It would be awesome if you could give us your take on that track. Keep the good work!
Everytime Marco looks down and blinks the camera is convinced for a second that the lights in the background are his eyes and moves the focus so the camera blinks.
One neat thing I'm not sure is intentional or not, but the main verse is also repeated 4 times, which could also represented 4 main eras in the game that shift the musical theme of your selected Civilization: Ancient, Medieval, Industrial, and Information era. The tone shifts to represent the humble beginning of dreaming, not knowing how it is to fly, towards a declaration that this flight will bring glory to all mankind.
This song restores my faith in humanity, which is saying something in this day and age. Thanks for making a video about it!
Baba Yetu is iconic, but this track makes me feel things. Definitely my all time favorite Civ track.

In fact the whole album is phenomenal.
Civ 6 theme is often a piece that comes immediately to mind whenever I imagine : "What would be the anthem for humanity ?"

watching you be so, idk, enthusiastic going through Sogno Di Volare makes me feel even moar about the song. thank you
This song just somehow felt more inspirational to me. The intro cinematics that goes with it just made it that much better.
One of my favorite songs ever made. An absolute masterpiece.
Just wanted to add, great italian pronunciation.
You know, I was just wondering if you had a video on this song, and here it appears!
more civilization would be great. love your explanations

God, I love this song!

Now I understand that the song builds up in layers & then explodes like how your civ builds from a tiny town into a big city & expand outwards.

I've always had massive Warcraft vibes (call to arms motif) from the soaring section of this song, very nostalgic for me

Terra Nova.

I absolutely *love* Christopher Tin’s music!
Glad you come back this "old you" kinda video when you disect the song like back in Calamity ost..
Also @MarcoMeatball did you just drop the f bomb?! I never hear you talk like this before
Thank you once more helping us to understand the sorcery of music.
Civ really has such a good soundtrack
Please listen to the Europa Universalis IV Main Theme "The Voyage"
I decided to make a shortened form of Sogno di Volare the Anthem of Earth in my sci-fi setting. It's just perfect for that role
OOOHHHH yesss what a good unexpected surprise I'm so glad you react to this one. Love you from France (yes another French spy of your channel haha)
i'm more on eleanore side than catherine side but yes, every time i use france spy it doesn't get captured since created
please react to more music from civ 6, there are so many beautiful pieces. The most gorgeous vocals in my opinion are Georgia's songs, and the Brazil theme is also quite good.
I love this piece so much

What a good track! Thanks Sebastian
This song is simply beautiful, I love it.
Hope to see you react to more songs from Nikke I think you'll be happily surprised :D
This song is so good it almost makes me believe in the promises of humanism for a few minutes.
The most beautiful thing about this song is it's ability to make waiting 2 hours for your friend to get on Civ 6 bearable
Everytime Marco looks down and blinks the camera is convinced for a second that the lights in the background are his eyes and moves the focus so the camera blinks.
Holy cow this is weird timing, I just got into a good civ 6 binge when I was always a civ 5 fanboy

This is realy the greatest game ever with the best soundtrack ever
Another great new rendition of a classical song for a game is Heart of Iron 4's version of Bella Ciao. Highly recommended.
Hi Marco! loved the vid. Do u follow the Game Awards cuz theres a chance Elden Rings DLC wins.
Fun fact: Christopher Tin likes every comment under his Civ music videos to this day. Open up Sogno di Volare and say something nice!
My fav song in civ 6
baba yetu is sooo iconic.
REACT to Ryuk's Theme - Death Note (KYRIE II) if you can please, I want to understand it I love it sooo much

What do you mean you haven't reacted to Argenti's boss theme? I was eagerly searching for your reaction! :(
OMG YOU FINALLY REVIEWED CIV THIS HAS BEEN A FAR OFF DREAM FOR ME!!
I have to agree on this, while Baba Yetu is an awesome piece, Sogno di Volare is more epic and fits Civ theme much better.
Hey dude! I was wondering if you can react to another fnf song called trinity but make sure it’s the remix and also maybe the song called bomblitz
"spiccato il voTo"? The honest mistake made me chuckle xD
Can you react to Dancing on the Edge by War Thunder.
Please react to the Electro Theme live Performance from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 next please.
yo if you havent already. PLEASE react to Again the first opening of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
I have a love hate relationship with Civ6
