Wow. I used to ride this as a child in the 90s at Six Flags Over Texas. Never thought I would ever see this footage again in my life. Thanks for uploading!
The best "dark ride" the park ever had. I love justice league and houdini but this was more immersive as it felt more real, wish they'd kept it up and not just let the ride rot away "universal style." I didn't mind the dino island ones either but they should've never wasted years with stupid spongebob and just returned this at least.
I will never forget this ride. I remember going on it in 1994 at Six Flags in NJ. After the ride ended, I got out and got on line to go again. I remember rolling down the runway and then the whole flight and then landing and rolling to a stop. I was totally immersed. Lifting and dropping sensations were so realistic.
My absolute favorite as a kid. I remember buckling up in the tilted seats, thrilled for a ride! Justice league fills the gap that was once the right stuff. SFOT
Thank you thank you thank you to whoever uploaded this. I remember this ride so much. I was very upset when they took it off. It would be awesome if they brought this back with 4K/UV/ maybe even 3D technology! Oh I miss my childhood.
This was a throwback to childhood! I wish they'd bring it back (especially considering our technology now.) Idk how you even found that video but thanks for posting it!
The only time I "rode" this I was 6, immediately panicked and shut my eyes for the whole thing so it's nice to be able to come back and see what I missed.
Wow! This takes me back to my high school days. I remember when they ditched it for a dinosaur experience after Jurassic Park came out. Not only was it stupid as hell, but the chair motion was out of synch with the video, and people were up-chucking for the rest of the day. How awesome would it be if they remade it with the 4k 60fps tech we have available to us today!? It would be simple to get the footage in 3d or even VR. Thanks for posting this!
if that wasn't bad enough then they only returned Right Stuff for one year, only to replaced with freakin Spongebob for years (it's six flags not freakin universal), and i never even saw the 2009 "fly me to the moon" after they stopped operating it entirely. Also they say they need more dark rides yet this thing has been rotting all this time.
I remember this from Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson , New Jersey . And I'm not lying when I say that this ride was cool enough to compete with the Back to the Future ride from Universal Studios , Florida . Theme Park rides like that are the reason why I'm definitely getting a PlayStation VR . Ace Combat 7 for PSVR is a much better version of this ride .
This was right across from The Scream Machine roller coaster at Six Flags in Jackson, NJ. The Right Stuff was really cool but after like 5 or 6 times it got boring for me haha
They need to just redo this and re-open it. Can even go all DC and make it green lantern themed with it just being Hal Jordan as a flight pilot and adding in more stunts but with the same concept. Personally I preferred the original if light story but you never know it could work (plus it'd be better than the coaster, stand ups ugh, make it sit down). And either go 3D or total VR with the same seats. They use the same seats on the despicable me ride at universal, I mean c'mon. How hard would it be, make a new video and renovate a building? And do something special for halloween too, El Vira was awesome.
Yeah, I really enjoyed this ride when they had it up when I was a kid. ...Nostalgia... What did they do with El Vira? It almost seems to ring a bell but my memory fades me. (Was it something to do with Fright Fest?)
As much as I love flying... and as much as I love my SFOT of old... I didn't like this ride. Had it been filmed differently.. maybe. The showing of the gauges, and the throttle and all that took away from the feeling of flying. They should have kept the front camera up during the whole presentation it would have been better. The guy on the radio was a bit melodramatic for me too.
six flags over texas... i remember this when i was a kid back in the mid 90's. i loved this.
Same! My favorite ride ever. The park is just not the same anymore
Wow. I used to ride this as a child in the 90s at Six Flags Over Texas. Never thought I would ever see this footage again in my life. Thanks for uploading!
Ditto 😂
I remember waiting in line for 1hr for what amounts to be about a 3 min "VR" ride. lol It was worth it. Really had you holding tight to the seat.
The wait in line was actually enjoyable hearing the jet engine they had set up outside firing every so often! Nostalgia at its best!
Six Flags Great Adventure ~1996 this was the best ride in the park. I wish I could experience it again.
❤ agreed
I loved when at the end when you landed the seats would almost drop you over..incredible memories

The was a fun ride. Great ride to get out of the heat
Whoever uploaded this ...thank you!!!.
This ride needs a reboot at six flags in NJ along with the Maverick movie. It's soarin from epcot, but with more speed and force. Loved this ride!

Congratulations that’s some of the best Mach 1 flying I’ve ever seen dash 3….you’ve got the right stuff 👍😎
Man, i remember this soooo many years ago at Six Flags over Texas. Very underrated ride.
Omg I loved this ride! They need to bring it back! Along with GASM!
I rode this simulation flight ride at Great Adventure, in 1994. It was fun! I wish more theme parks had
rides like this.

I also remember the jet they had on display outside of the ride.
I never thought i would see this footage again. Thanks for bringing back some great memories!
I rode this ride in six flags great adventure in jersey as a kid. Damn I was so crazy about it lol
Omg I've been searching for this forever! Thank you for the memories 😢
Rode this at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, loved this attraction!

Sixflags needs this again, but with an F35
There once was a demon...
I know you have what it takes to beat that demon!
Haha I remember this! Such a nostalgic flashback of yesteryear.

Wow that takes me back, watching it I can recall how awesome it was then!
Wow this brings back so much memories

Wow. The best ride. Wish they brought it back.
Childhood memories
Used to get in line for this just for the ac in the summer.
I loved this ride.
Thankfully this one is a direct capture. Unfortunately, there are glitches and the audio isn't good.
Oh, look, it's my childhood
saw this at 6 flags over texas.. was great
I remember this being much longer

OneAndOnlySound it always failed after mach 1

@@51MontyPython Yes, they had Elvira for fright fest and a child's bedroom for holiday in the park. Not to mention Jurassic Park and sponge bob
Thanks for this.

That's really the one problem with being a pilot. Most forms of entertainment involving aviation will be too unrealistic and overly dramatic for us.
