Yeah, that was my first thought. People tend to over-emphasize short term hard costs (gas) while overlooking on-paper costs (depreciation) that people will eventually incur in hard costs when they sell or trade-in.
@@Aggie4life77 Yeah, but I mean, talking about 3k savings when the car depreciated so much is a bit... not important I would say. I would even argue that the loss was more substantial, as loaded with features and extras as the guy said - the final price would've been more closer to 150k rather than 100k, so it's safe to assume the car lost approximately 50k $. I mean, the car is definitely worth it, but you really don't go into "I saved on gas 3k" topic when you can afford such a depreciation over just 2 years.
Chief, my EQS 580 was purchased a few months after yours and appreciated all your tutorials. Mine was bought after returning a Lucid GT due to too many bugs. That EV was released too soon and was overpriced at $155K. One other negative about the 2023 EQS model year is extreme pressure needed on brake pedal. I think it was fixed in 2024.
@@johnpoldo8817 I was seriously considering the Lucid until the EQS came out. For whatever reason, the breaking has not been an issue for me - probably because I use the regeneration to do most of my breaking and I like to start slowing early.

I was told that the Pinnacle trim was only available with a Black interior (for model year 2024). That's it, no choices. It was black or nothing. I was also annoyed at not having the auto/soft closing doors, lack of rear/side window screens and tinted windows. These things should have been available for a car this expensive. Even with all that, I still love driving this car.
@@mthomps0 The feature was installed in the early models. I saw a review on the Autogefuel channel and not only did it have soft close doors, it also would auto-open the driver's door as the driver approached the vehicle. The story I heard was that MB weren't able to include these features in vehicles due to post-COVID supply chain issues. But it seems they decided to leave them out even after those issues went away. Over 2 years you saved 3K $ on gas and lost 35% in value on depreciation! Which is about 30K I guess. Congrats!
