The whole trailer gave me "Westeen movie" vibes in a way. I almost feel like the secondary weapon pouch on the mount is a reference to westerns where they keep a rifle on the saddle of their horse

In terms of the Gemma vs. Alma debate. I like them both. Gemma has that kinda obvious hot girl look with the wild hair and midriff. And Alma has a more wholesome nerdy girl hot kind of vibe. Both excellent. So I then pose the question that everyone is thinking but to afraid to ask. Why not both?

I agree and think focus mode will likely be holding down one button then choosing between pressing a different button to either initiate a dodge / counter or special attack. I suspect you can choose to counter when the monster attacks or choose to target wounds for special attacks
I think that clash is a minigame similar to mount attacks in world. Where everyone else is free to wack the monster

The collaboration we needed
for the GS monch counter, I can just imagine a sword and shield hunter (emphasis on imagine lmao) taking their grapple and looping it into a lasso before holding it in front of them. then as the monster approaches, with perfect timing the Hunter throws out the lasso into the path of the monster, and runs off to the side before the monster gets caught. Then the Monster charges in. get the lasso caught around it's neck, and the Hunter uses the impulse to sort of backflip/swing themselves up onto the Monster's back for a mount
I think they should put a stamina like bar on the mount Seikret so you can't mount it too much in combat and that it would disappear pretty fast. Using décoration to maybe increase the time he can be mounted !
Obrigado pelo vídeo, pessoal. I think an easy way to offset the new dynamic advantages that the hunter will get, is to add new reactions and faster reactions for the monsters themselves. Basically how everything is getting scaled up in Souls games.
Agree with Arc on that the Counter Attack (or parry) is the unique skill in focus mode for GS along with the attack that triggered when you aim for the weakspot. And for other weapons it's not parry/counter attack anymore. There's no way you can counter attack/parry with a bow or insect glaive, or dual blade. It's defo gonna be other variations. Let's say you treat parry/counter attack like a perfect dodge system, you then perform your signature skill of the weapon, so for example for IG it's gonna be you instantly vault and perform whatever aerial attacks
From what I know, the game is based on the Saharan desert and takes place on that small island next to the wildspire waste or on the right side bottom of the MH map in GU.
I still have no clue how Alma was selected for an expedition in a clearly very hot desert like enviroment.. and wears a leather hoodie like thing. like she is gonna get heatstroke midway trough dialogue and just die.

Been bottling it long enough so here's my random internet user opinion
Focus mode is just a fancy name for switch skills/weapon arts that occupy the same button as aiming the slinger and the weapons get 2 actions each
GS gets a special attack and a special defense - looking at or locking view on a wound + sp. attack does the cutting move and the sp. defense action depends on the monster moves - standing on hind legs to knock away or chomping attack to power struggle sequence that plays like a mounting minigame.
For the bowgun we saw its either normal lv1 is always rapid fire to make it semi-viable or its a new rapid fire mod for HBG or a new burst fire ammo type.
So...white or dark chocolate?

I can't decide what part of the trailer i liked better gemma or chatacabra. Theyre both awesome.
Please note, that the hunter called for the mount before he got hit. So it's not like wirefall because it takes some time before the mount picks up the hunter. I guess you can't call it when lying on the ground. At least I hope so.
For me it got to be when pelico are talking on that screen I was like who was that saying those words and I realized it was the pelico
I kind like the fact that your palico can talk because it means that it will get a little more attention in cutscenes and stuff in world for example there is a lot of cutscenes but your palico was in like 2 so I feel like with talking palicos they can get a little more attention in general
I pray for a new weapon even if I know I'll go right back to greatsword, hammer, and sword and shield.
So in the trailer when the hunter blocks the attack and gets almost eaten, I think that's a grab attack. I don't think it will be a mash thing, I think its just a new option for monster grab moves. TLDR: I think its him blocking and being stunned by a grab attack not a button mashing focus mode thing

i fell like the monster trying to eat the hunter as he blocks with his weapon will be done like how riding monsters worked in GU. button mashing but you have to press a button when the monster roars or gets enraged to evade getting thrown off/ eaten or biten by the monster.
so there may be a "purposely getting eaten/pinned" build and gem set for tank players? time to find out which friend i like the least... or the most...

The thing I am wondering is why they are asking and incentivizing transferring save data from MH World and Iceborn. As far as I am aware this is the first time this has happened correct?
I believe there was also save data bonuses between rise and stories 2
There was also some cross data save between double cross and GU or some other title and GU
