Guys, he's been a wildlife film maker for a while. He knows he's not literally integrated into the pack or left to watch the pups. He means he is thrilled the wolves are so tolerant towards his presence (rather than weary) and did not deem it necessary to relocate their den (because they could, the pups are large enough). If the wolves were upset by him or felt he would harm their pups, they would retaliate or move the den.

A naturalist would never touch or disturb the animals no matter how close he is to them. That can disturb their natural behaviour.

Why are a bunch of commenters on UA-cam trying to tell a PROFESSIONAL naturalist that he hasn't actually assimilated into the pack? We are by no means experts, especially compared to this guy, so why do we think we understand animals when we have never been by them? I'm not saying he actually thought he was a part of the wolf pack, we're stupid for even suggesting that, but he's right to be excited that he was able to get that close. Enjoy the damn video, and stop being a bunch of know-it-alls.

Amazing how identical these three pups look. Right down to the dark spot on their mid tail and tip. As well as the same shading on their muzzles and flanks.
I think the tail spot is a scent gland that all wolves have?..
@@JaneXemylixait's not a scent gland. It's just a spot. I'm assuming it's so the tail stands out so that the others can see it during socializing or during travel with low visibility
