Hi Teacher Gon, good day po. A rational equation is an equality of two algebraic expressions, one (or both) is in fraction form with the unknown variable(s) in the denominator of the fraction. The second example (((x^2)-5)/3) = 4 is NOT a rational equation. It is a quadratic equation.

Likewise Teacher Gon, the inequality ((x-3)/2) 5 is NOT a rational inequality, it is a linear inequality.
