The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth 1. Widescreen.
I used patch 1.06. It elevates the camera for you, so you don't have to manually change the height in every map.
The game is vert-, so the wider you go, the less you can see.

I play skirmish on Cair Andros map.
There are 3 levels of difficulty - Easy, Medium, Hard.
I played this on Hard - 1vs1.
Sorry for the non cursor parts, i was using different recorders and one of them don't/doesn't record cursor.

Framerate in this game seems to be caped at 38 fps.

this was the game that made me a gamer it was my childhood i first played this as a co op with my bother and 4 other people when i was only 4 years old (that was 13 years ago now) :D lord of the rings is still my fav movie to date and fav game

It takes some research & tinkering, but as soon as that's done, the games will run perfectly with the Widescreen mod, HD mod, and all other Patches & Mods available for Windows 7-8 & 10. You can find it all on UA-cam and the rest is available on the corresponding forums.
And i can honestly confirm it that it's all true because i've been playing those games for 13 years now.

But now that we are at it: i have this game in a cd. Is there a way to play it without the cd on the drive? Cuz id like to preserve the disk, if i only had to put it once on the computer and then put it away, i wouldnt have to be arsed to pick it up every time i want to play the game
you can search for a crack, or use something like "Game Jackal" - it's for those people who have original disc.

They have never been distributed by or made available on Steam because EA had the rights until things got sour, and to make things worse EA could not gain "full ownership" rights to this franchise so that's why we're likely never ever going to see a sequel or remaster in the "near" future... And yes, the licence has indeed been expired because of that squabble! Luckily i'm a collector so i own a several of mint copies for bfme1, bfme2, bfme2-rotwk & a collectors edition box. I have made them to run amazingly under Windows 10 with added HD and Widescreen mods since a few weeks now and it's even more fun to play them now than 13 years ago.
