Howdy Dykers! 🥾
Hiking through Fiery Furnace was a pant splitter from start to finish! This trek isn't just a walk in the park-it's a rock-scrambling journey that had us navigating narrow passages and towering sandstone structures. Walking here feels like stepping onto another planet, surrounded by the remnants of a sea basin where prehistoric sea creatures swam over 300 million years ago.
Amidst the maze of canyons and arches, the trail is marked by 20 small white arrows.
Nervous about getting lost? Oh, we definitely got lost. It was inevitable. Thankfully, GPS on the trail app we brought guided us back on track when needed.
Pro tip: pack enough snacks and water, because what's supposed to be a 3-hour hike could easily stretch into 6 😂
