Darren!!! Thank you so much for coming down, glad you enjoyed! So sorry for being lost for words, had no idea what to say haha!!! ❤️, next time I’ll be prepared 😂
Always a pleasure to see you Niaz
@@DarrenJohn it better not be the end... due to your reviews of Niaz and his brick lane indian, I have a massive group visiting in september to book soon! :D
It really saddens me when I see established businesses close. There is so much history and memories attached to the owners, staff and customers. I hope whoever takes it over makes a success of it.
The food in City Spice really is OTC, it's so nice. I can't wait to go back someday. A good video of Bricklane I would be happy to there during the day
David Brent singing his own karaoke song while eating a ruby murray, all you need to do is the dance with Daisy Duke next, then you will have morphed into him seamlessly. This is fast becoming a classic comedy channel. Keep up the good work
That big lass in Tenerife though is the most amazing singer, wonderful phrasing after 25 pints of p**s water.
I miss Brick Lane ! I was in England in 2017. Summer. The weather was like being back in Sydney. I'd travel from Ongar every week to eat at Brick Lane, drinks at the Big Chill bar, sit down in the park and eat my corn beef bagel from Beigel Bake. The other bagel shop which has closed down did very little business compared to Beigel Bake. Customers just loved that corned beef bagel, including me, that's what brought in the business. When I tried their pastries, like apple turnover, they weren't anything special. Nor was the bread. But the corned beef with pickles on that fresh bagel was something else. A lot of fine restaurants in Brick Lane, street food, and great clothing shops. Wonderful memories ! Thanks Darren !
Hi , just a quickie, the yellow beigel shop was the first one, 159 was a butchers shop bought by the same beigel family and made into the now famous beigel bake!
Niaz is always such a gentleman even time he has appeared on your vlogs Darren. Hope he goes from strength to strength all the best Niaz
Agreed
Darren, I believe that the one that has closed down THE BEIGEL SHOP was the first one. The owners moved out of that one many years ago and opened THE BEIGEL BAKE which has always been the most popular one.
Great video Darren. You're on good form on this one, seemed at total peace with the world. Keep up the good work!
There was two italian restaurants that closed down near where I live. They had been serving food for over twenty years, I was sad, but I had good memories and enjoyed their food
Loved this vlog…proper old School Darren John!!
Never been to Brick Lane sadly. The street food looked great including the tortilla you had, it is good to see so many different foods being shown like that. Shame the Beigel shop has closed, at least the other one is still going for now. It wouldn’t be a Darren John vlog without a City Spice visit whilst in the vicinity, glad to see the owner is being recognised for his food, always looks incredible on the vlogs. Nice to hear a snippet of your singing too.
City Spice always looks good when a food reviewer goes in, wasn't the case when I was there earlier this year. They have been hammered on Google over the last 2 weeks, so give DJ a ring, treat him like royalty and that'll get the punters back in 😉
The 'White' Bagel shop was always elite levels above the 'Yellow' shop anyway.
Use to be a regular of mine when working nights DJ.
Truth.
"Street food" with Old El Paso products proudly displayed. Beyond pathetic.
Hi Darren, the Brick Lane, looks like an Amazing place. Lots of Indian Restaurants and Curries. 🎉 The City Spice looks so Nice and the Mexican Tortilla looked so, so Good. Welcome back to England Darren, from Tenerife 😎🎉😍
Thanks so much
Absolutely brilliant video thanks for taking me around. Definitely food that put smile on your face.
Used to really enjoy Shoreditch/Brick Lane area a lot in the past. These days it's a been there done that vibe & I can't be arsed with the journey. 😂
R.I.P. Dinerama, also.
Brilliant again darren,thanks mate
Great one Darren definitely going there for sure
Great stuff DJ! Good to see you smiling mate, keep em coming sir
Lived on the manor nearly all my life , Brick lane not like it once was years ago , much prefer Green Lanes Haringay and all the Turkish eateries . Nice video though for people visiting London 😊
Glad you’re back in London. I tire of Tenerife vlogs. Same old thing. I didn’t even watch the vlogs. Love your London vlogs.
Great content DG as always
Brilliant vlog that street food looked amazing. Don't we love good food hey x
Great video! One of my stops when I visit London in September! I was down Brick Lane in January of 2018, I recognized some of the shops, including the 2 Beigel Bake shops.
Enjoyed that Darren. thanks
Up next weekend for the Bike Shed show! love this area...! Another Great Video!
Enjoyed that Darren, top stuff me old son.
Great video Darren. Loving the music!
Awesome, thank you!
Hey Darren,
Gary Eats just mentioned you on his latest Q&A ,saying he enjoys watching your channel.
Awesome thank you! Very kind
Looks a lovely day for a mooch about and some tasty food - oh and btw did hear you singing!?! if only for a second 😉
just a few seconds - ha
Looks like a 3rd world country
Not forgetting the third world cooking practices to be avoided at all costs.
When the saxon stops eating there it will be, mr Butler.
Shame its closing. Im not keen on London anymore. Its not safe
Its all getting a bit sterile there
Soo much crime @@lynussss
It's no more dangerous than anywhere else in the country. Just because drug gangs are shooting and stabbing each other doesn't make it unsafe for normal people. As a tourist you are unlikely to be visiting the 'unsafe' areas.
O I see so that's ok then , there's me thinking it's dog rough ,you've restored my faith NOT@@donnienlefty
@paularrowsmith9376 it's not about what is or isn't ok, the reality is London is a safe place to live and visit. That's why close to 10 million people live there and its in the top 3 most visited cities in the world. Just because a small minority in some of the poorer parts of a handful of boroughs are involved in street crime with dire consequences, you can't judge the whole city by this. Just admit that you're a narrow minded racist that hates ethnic diversity along with all the other people posting negative comments.
Another great video of your London thank you. 😋😘
Excellent Darren love brick lane
We use to get our bagels sunday morning from leeds, ive heard that bagels place in London is going to be called ali's snack bar..
From what i read in reviews they got hygien issues. Not just atitude, but word is they breached health and safety.
Possibly why they are closing due to complaints & reported. 🤔🤷♀️ but you find excellent places that makes up for that. 😊
Why did Indian/Bangladeshi restaurants stop using hotplates?
Great video, im from London originally this made me a bit homesick. Brick lane remeber as a child
I think Tayyabs and Lahore Kebab House in Whitechapel both beat City Spice hands down. Surprised you've never reviewed those places DJ
That's because they don't pay him and give him a huge meal for free. How much do they pay you @DarrenJohn for a review? Apparently £200 to £500 is the going rate. Makes me wonder why you don't review anywhere else on Brick Lane or Whitechapel/Aldgate.
That street food place is now open during the week but I'm not a huge fan of most of it but i think what you had looked good. Have you been to Tayyabs? Really hate the racist comments on here about Brick Lane though. I live neat here and it really is multicultural and it's great.
Did I detect you singing in this video DJ?
Hi Darren I would like you to do some videos with the macmaster again because I really miss you doing videos with him because they were really funny
Darren John is the legendary London UA-camr. Who deserves to be famous worldwide James
They is some fantastic street art & enjoy your Mexican food 🌮.Thanks DJ😊👍
Must be 2 then coz brick Lane is also Known as curry mile FACTS Im born and bread londoner mate
The yellow one is the oldest. They will opening up again very soon, after a family dispute/money.
Nice to be back in home town off the charts …… 🤟🧡🤩
Amazing food I wish we had the same New Zealand
I always wondered how 2 Biegel shops used to work side by side, been to both and the one surviving one is certainly the better one.
I stayed on Brick Lane on the first BH weekend, DJ, The vibrancy was amazing! Had a bagel from Beigel Bake at 1am, was very tasty. My experience in City Spice earlier on the same night was, unfortunately, really poor - can't go there again, I'm afraid, DJ.
My experience at City Spice was also dreadful. One of the worst and most expensive curries I have ever had, and smallest portions. In general Brick Lane is bang average for Indian food, has been for the last 20 years. Best places are the bengali cafes where the food Is displayed in the cool counters, this is where the locals eat.
Brick Lane was a multicultural feast for all senses. Such an amazing place!! The food at City Spice is top tier and did not disappoint!! Niaz and the team outdid themselves!! I've since tried Paro and that was absolutely brilliant too!! Another amazing recommendation from yourself!! 😁👍🏼💙
Brick lane looks like a run down street to me . I know it's about the food but it doesn't look like a place I'd like to visit .
You shouldve seen it 30 years ago
Beigel bake ( yellow shop)was there first , they claim!! It was nowhere near as popular as the other beigel shop, hence its closure.
Garry Eats gave you a shoutout as one his favourite UA-camrs on his Q&A. Good to see real recognise real
🥰☀️🥰xxx
Good, i hope so, hope it turns back into a thriving English community for the indigenous people
Please introduce us to your wife
Noticed a lady filming you... Maybe life is looking up.
Seriously?
Beigel bake def been around longer
Curry mile is the nickname for brick lane!
Your wrong. Curry mile is the nickname for Wilmslow rd. In Manchester.
It's evolution and all things change, but I nostalgically miss " Puppy Lane " 🐶( is what we called it as kids ). From from the Shoreditch end right up to the cross ways , Brick Lane was full of pet stalls and little enclosures on a Sunday selling animals. The smell of fresh straw & shit will always remind of Brick Lane and the stables in Hoxton market. It was where you would go to buy a Labrador or Alsatian puppy and a few months later realise you had been sold a mutt/bitsa 🐺😲. All long gone now and no more live animals, apart from the far end of Brick Lane where the dodgy Halal butchers still illegally kill live chickens around the back on a Sunday during religious festivals. It's a middle class fav place to visit and live now, but weekends are packed along there and weekdays you'll get a great deal from the touters outside restaurants urging you to come in. Just pretend your not hungry and haggle a price from the boys. Most Indian restaurants will let you bring your own booze in if you want with no corkage fee.
Oh, i see, 2017, that's where all the pets ended up !!
@@blackbob3358 Remember Del Boy? 'How much is that doggy in the window!'
I don't really care, I don't live in Landan thank god.
City Spice... yet again 🤔
I cant walk by
It's bollocks

Can't wait to read DJs reply to that comment 😄😄🤣
Good video darren but sad to see London filled with colonisers
Businesses close when people vote for a shyster like Sadiq Khan
Hi Darren great 👍 blog it's a shame that business are hitting hard times ⏲️ things are bad 👎 every body is trying but life's hard rant gone you take care and keep smilling
