I'm Irish and moved to Ealing Rd from Ireland about four years ago. I didn't know the area was known for being very Indian, but it was welcomed! A few years later, I live back in Wembley (park, beside the parade where you started) and I'm learning Bengali and walk down to Ealing Road often for the sweets and savouries! Small world! In a few weeks I'm going to one of the sweets and savouries shops on Ealing Road and stocking up for a tasting video. A new sweets and savouries shop opened up here (W Park) a few months ago - went once, it's a lot more expensive than Ealing Rd but it's nice with friendly staff (as expected) 😊 and - subscribed!
He actually wanted to say ginger and lemon(adrak n nimbu) but he was so stunned by ur magnificent Hindi that he botched up and said “Adrak and ginger” .. when he tends to next indian customers , he correctly said - “adrak and nimbu” ... I have been in London for a year but never have i seen a British speaking impeccable Hindi like u.. Cheers mate!!!

Its ok to do mistakes , you are learning a language, even adults have problems, Not everyone speaks Hindi in India, Like when someone from south of India speaks Hindi, its a joy hearing someone who has learnt Hindi. Really appreciate that you're learning Hindi and speaking in your own inimitable style! Many of my fellow countrymen diss their own people attempting to speak English due to their regional accent. What they fail to understand even the United Kingdom the English diction /accent up north (Yorkshire) or down south in Brighton is different and local English speaking population sometimes fail to comprehend due to the peculiar tone.

On top of it I even came across some people who know it but still don't speak it. Infact there are agitations going on in Bangalore to remove metro station names written in Hindi as we speak.
@Suresh Kumar M It's not surprising...it is a fact. How do I know?? I myself am a kannadiga and a devout advocate of Hindi. So you can imagine the anguish of my fellow kannadigas in Bangalore when I support Hindi. Stupid people asking the BMRCL to remove station names. What they dont realize is that in their hatred toward Hindi, they want to remove the station names written in Devanagari script. The station names are in kannada and devangari is a script which is not specific to Hindi. It is common to Sanskrit, Hindi as well as Marathi. South India does not mean only Hyderabad buddy. We are lucky that we have a cosmopolitan atmosphere here in Hyderabad but the same is not visible even in a so called "silicon valley of India". In our metro stations we have the names listed in 4 languages - English, Hindi (devangari), Telugu and urdu.

@Suresh Kumar M Hey Suresh...just to let you know...I am also a Hyderabadi. But I have been to Chennai and Bangalore and trust me... their hindi sucks big time. On top of it I even came across some people who know it but still don't speak it. Infact there are agitations going on in Bangalore to remove metro station names written in Hindi as we speak.
@Suresh Kumar M It's not surprising...it is a fact. How do I know?? I myself am a kannadiga and a devout advocate of Hindi. So you can imagine the anguish of my fellow kannadigas in Bangalore when I support Hindi. Stupid people asking the BMRCL to remove station names. What they dont realize is that in their hatred toward Hindi, they want to remove the station names written in Devanagari script. The station names are in kannada and devangari is a script which is not specific to Hindi. It is common to Sanskrit, Hindi as well as Marathi.
South India does not mean only Hyderabad buddy. We are lucky that we have a cosmopolitan atmosphere here in Hyderabad but the same is not visible even in a so called "silicon valley of India". In our metro stations we have the names listed in 4 languages - English, Hindi (devangari), Telugu and urdu.
SWEETHEART YOU ARE A DARLING. Your Hindi is better than most Indians.
I have a Bulgarian friend who speaks & reads Hindi to the level of Europeans like her, Karl Rock, Rebecca Chadwick. But, actual native level/style Hindi is spoken by Jamie Alter.
