Great build. A good engine builder, tuner, premix and a responsible owner is all you need to keep it reliable. There are many rotary cars in Central Fl that run strong and are reliable. We are blessed to have Kilo Racing in our back yard. Abel is also a rotary legend so you made the right move by using him to tune your car. I feel like 2021 will be a huge year for rotaries, last several years have been all about supra craze but with mazzei formula, daddy dahm, and so many other amazing rx7 builds like this one making titles, I bet more people will start getting into these more very soon
Not just huge in 2021 as they have been rising in price for a while now. I know it will be a pretty penny when I pick mine up at the port someday :)

I'm thinking about to buying a rusted out FD turbo just for the drivetrain and there are a lot of cheap but decent rx-8's out there.

No you don't if you look after it, it'll last just as long as a piston engine or even longer if the map is good as rotaries has less moving parts. I have one and I know what I'm talking about. I had a skyline r33 gtr skyline and that gave me more issues than my rotary.
Just to clarify, I like the rotary. I had a 1986 S4 FC3S before my evo. I only sold the RX7 as the roads in my town are shit and the 4WD in the evo is what you need.
My FC sat unstarted for two years at one point in storage, started first pop with a new battery. Just don't buy cheap shit aliexpress apex seals and you're sorted.
And the R33 is a shitbox all together, no surprises there, id go for the R31 or R32 coupes any day of the week.
But they’re not reliable. It’s not bout bein poor 💀
And to think, thats just a little 2 rotor, hardly being pushed.

Yeah, he gave me a ride a couple months back, straight up fastest car I've ever been in.
Finally seeing a an car with an interior and not a drag shell is so refreshing. Honestly if you remove your interior I don't think it should qualify as a street car anymore. That's just my opinion.

My 72 Rx2 2dr coupe has a 13b w/750 Holley. Open up the secondaries it goes from mild to wild & take your foot off & a flame lights up the rear view. It's been in my family since 75. I love it my neighbors not so much.
This is a tasteful setup. Nothing groundbreaking or crazy. Just some extra power and a nice calm exterior look. Other than the sound its a bit of a sleeper and i like that
This is why i had to put a rotary engine in to my vw bug just like this set up large street ports and turbo love the saound when i mash it!!
Hats of to this man, blowing your trans, going on some crazy side missions to get another one, and swapping it hours before tech. Those are nights that make you car folk.
