It sounds pretty decent. I have a couple of those 6j2 kits, one of them I put together a while back.
Haven't actually tested it out yet lol. I have an old early 50's philips tube record player that I need to replace the caps in and I might rig up the 6j2 to that once I got it going and try it out with my guitar.

Cool, I’ve been thinking about finding an old tube record player and doing that too.

@@TheFlippy1 It's an old philips disc jockey major and the speaker is built in to the detachable lid which can be positioned a distance away from the record player if needed. Seems like an ideal little record player for converting to a practice amp

Sounds pretty good! I never thought to do this..Can I ask the signal chain? 6j2 board ->5532p->tda2050 board.. or? I have one of those tda2050 boards and a 6j1 preamp, probably order a few parts and put one together, really cool idea!

Yep that’s the signal path. I put a 102pf capacitor right on the input jack to trim out the bass, then it goes through the right channel on the 6J1 to the left channel, then out to the 5532p Eq board, then to the tda2050.
