It's good to hear, the old seewing machine reeve. I drove my MK1 as a Ringtool. We Nürburgring Fans have no track Tools we have Ringtools. I swapped my steering wheel verry often to find the right one for me. I ended with the cheapest of all versions, the first MK1 GTI steering wheel with Aluminium spokes. If I had knowen that before, I could have saved alot of money, for other parts. That's a great Video keep posting them and remind me on the good old days.

I'd keep the steering wheel, it's a nice silver accent. I'd also replace the shifter stick with one that is more silvery and less rusty. The cigarette lighter box looks a little out of place, seems like that plastic is a different shade (or level of faded) than the rest of the dash. That's nitpicking though, looks brilliant.

Om ff dat punt te benadrukken dat je aanhaalt ivm de gordels: Mijn ogen werden hier recentelijk ook voor geopend, dus in het kader van "pay it forward" wil ik het ook met jou delen :) Kort gezegd: als een harnas een neerwaartse hoek van meer dan 20 graden heeft achter de stoel, is het niet veilig. Als je een ongeval hebt, wordt de last bijna integraal op je ruggengraat losgelaten, ook al zit je met je schouders onder de gaten in de stoel. Om veilig te zijn moet het dus op een kooi. Ik heb om die reden mijn harnas eruit gehaald (zat onder een hoek van 45 graden of zo) en terug standaard gordels gestoken en frankly... 't is een STUK fijner, ook ivm wat je aangeeft qua "dagelijks gewoon straatgebruik". Ge had dit alles mss zelf al bedacht, maar als ik het kan delen, doe ik het :)
Mooie stoelen in een mooie Golf !!!! Achterbank past prima bij de rest en voor wat de stoelframes betreft die zien er echt wel prim a uit !! Leuke video !

i don't know if you still have that Seat Set-Up in your MK1, but just fyi - using a normal seatbelt in Buckets like these can be dangerous. Your pelvis is not supported right, because the Buckets try to grip around your body with the upholstery. Your body could slip under the seatbelt in a crash. I have not seen how the seatbelt works with these seats, so it may be alright. But i wanted to inform you for your own safety. Keep up the good work and the content, i really enjoy it :)
Nice tidy work as always but I suggest you to get some OMP or Sparco correct seat adapters , safety is first...Also wear gloves when you are using the angle grinder !!!
Can I suggest swapping the door speakers? I think a nice set of Kenwood KFC-X173 speakers would compliment the seats without being overly out of place ;) Oh, and she sounds sweeeeet 😎
Can’t believe how good a match the fronts and rears are!!! Great job. Do you know your missing the front runners bush? It’s white like the two rear ones but a completely different shape.
Regarding the seatbelt, if you plan on something like a 5 point, you gotta use it with a helmet and HANS device (NecksGen is also a good option, seems to provide more lateral protection). But from what I understood, you already know that. Anyways, keep up the good work :)

Apparently you can improve the old foam in the rear seats by using a steamer, it puffs up the flat foam and will improve the look of the rear seats.
Very nice. I like the deep black effect it gives the interior. My mk1 has a black interior too, with black roof liner. Try that, looks great.

Have you not mounted sliding mechanism on top of another sliding mechanism? Could this be why the seats look quite high?
